Scientific interests
Main accomplishments of the author
Prof. Frisman gave a new explanation of the evolutionary and ecological mechanisms that lead to population fluctuations and to the heterogeneity of the spatial distribution of ecosystems. He discovered new complex regimes of population dynamics, described the scenarios of their evolution, revealed and investigated nonlinear effects in the population dynamics of commercial species associated with the age and genetic structure and harvest. Prof. Frisman developed models of population dynamics of commercial animal species (northern fur seal, spotted deer, manchurian squirrel, commercial fish species and invertebrates) and described optimal strategies for their exploitation. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 works and the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Regional problems".
