The author's profile in the scientific and bibliometric databases
Biographical information
Alexander Medvinsky was born in Kiev (1945). He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the Shevchenko Kiev State University in 1974. After graduation he worked at the Institute of Pbiophysics of the Academy of Science of the USSR and then at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A.Medvinsky received a candidate of science degree in physics and mathematics (1985) after completing a thesis on autowave mechanisms of cardial arrhythmias and the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics in 1994 (the doctoral thesis was devoted to mechanisms of structure formation in microbial populations).
Scientific interests
Main accomplishments of the author
A.Medvinsky wrote over 150 papers concerned with mechanisms of cardiac rhytm disturbances, mechanisms of structure formation in microbial populations, as well as studies devoted to the investigation of factors that influence the predictability and the pattern of dynamics of agricultural crops, human communities and communities of hydrocoles. He is a member of the editorial boards of the journals EcologicalComplexity, Nonlinear Dynamics, Psychology, and Life Sciences, Ecological Processes, and the journal Computer Research and Modeling.
