Quantile shape measures for heavy-tailed distributions
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 5, pp. 1041-1077Currently, journal papers contain numerous examples of the use of heavy-tailed distributions for applied research on various complex systems. Models of extreme data are usually limited to a small set of distribution shapes that in this field of applied research historically been used. It is possible to increase the composition of the set of probability distributions shapes through comparing the measures of the distribution shapes and choosing the most suitable implementations. The example of a beta distribution of the second kind shown that the lack of definability of the moments of heavy-tailed implementations of the beta family of distributions limits the applicability of the existing classical methods of moments for studying the distributions shapes when are characterized heavy tails. For this reason, the development of new methods for comparing distributions based on quantile shape measures free from the restrictions on the shape parameters remains relevant study the possibility of constructing a space of quantile measures of shapes for comparing distributions with heavy tails. The operation purpose consists in computer research of creation possibility of space of the quantile’s measures for the comparing of distributions property with heavy tails. On the basis of computer simulation there the distributions implementations in measures space of shapes were been shown. Mapping distributions in space only of the parametrical measures of shapes has shown that the imposition of regions for heavy tails distribution made impossible compare the shape of distributions belonging to different type in the space of quantile measures of skewness and kurtosis. It is well known that shape information measures such as entropy and entropy uncertainty interval contain additional information about the shape measure of heavy-tailed distributions. In this paper, a quantile entropy coefficient is proposed as an additional independent measure of shape, which is based on the ratio of entropy and quantile uncertainty intervals. Also estimates of quantile entropy coefficients are obtained for a number of well-known heavy-tailed distributions. The possibility of comparing the distributions shapes with realizations of the beta distribution of the second kind is illustrated by the example of the lognormal distribution and the Pareto distribution. Due to mapping the position of stable distributions in the three-dimensional space of quantile measures of shapes estimate made it possible the shape parameters to of the beta distribution of the second kind, for which shape is closest to the Lévy shape. From the paper material it follows that the display of distributions in the three-dimensional space of quantile measures of the forms of skewness, kurtosis and entropy coefficient significantly expands the possibility of comparing the forms for distributions with heavy tails.

Approach to Estimating the Dynamics of the Industry Consolidation Level
Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 1, pp. 129-140In this article we propose a new approach to the analysis of econometric industry parameters for the industry consolidation level. The research is based on the simple industry automatic control model. The state of the industry is measured by quarterly obtained econometric parameters from each industry’s company provided by the tax control regulator. An approach to analysis of the industry, which does not provide for tracking the economy of each company, but explores the parameters of the set of all companies as a whole, is proposed. Quarterly obtained econometric parameters from each industry’s company are Income, Quantity of employers, Taxes, and Income from Software Licenses. The ABC analysis method was modified by ABCD analysis (D — companies with zero-level impact to industry metrics) and used to make the results obtained for different indicators comparable. Pareto charts were formed for the set of econometric indicators.
To estimate the industry monopolization, the Herfindahl – Hirschman index was calculated for the most sensitive companies metrics. Using the HHI approach, it was proved that COVID-19 does not lead to changes in the monopolization of the Russian IT industry.
As the most visually obvious approach to the industry visualization, scattering diagrams in combination with the Pareto graph colors were proposed. The affect of the accreditation procedure is clearly observed by scattering diagram in combination with red/black dots for accredited and nonaccredited companies respectively.
The last reported result is the proposal to use the Licenses End-to-End Product Identification as the market structure control instrument. It is the basis to avoid the multiple accounting of the licenses reselling within the chain of software distribution.
The results of research could be the basis for future IT industry analysis and simulation on the agent based approach.

Experimental investigation of Russian citizens expenses on new cars and a correspondence to their income
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 3, pp. 621-629Citations: 3 (RSCI).The question of distribution of citizens expenses in modern Russia is experimentally investigated. New cars were chosen as representative group of the acquired goods as well as earlier. Results of the analysis of sales of new cars for 2007–2009 are presented below. Main “body” of density of probability to find certain number of cars depending on their price, since some initial price up to ~ k$60, is an exponential distribution. The found feature of distribution (unlike 2003–2005) was an existence of minimum price. For expensive cars (distribution “tail”), the asymptotic form is the Pareto distribution with a hyperbole exponent a little greater, than measured earlier for 2003–2005. The results turned up to be similar to direct measurements of distribution of tax declarations on their size, submitted to the USA in 2004 where exponential distribution of the income of citizens, since some minimum, with some asymptotic in the form of Pareto's distribution also was observed.
