Mathematical modelling of branched hydraulic systems
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2009, v. 1, no. 2, pp. 173-179

Solving the problem of stationary stream distribution for an arbitrary volume-free hydrosystem with a free level can be reduced to determining the extremes of a multi-variable function. Rayleigh function expressed in terms of the hydraulic characteristics of the parts of the system in question is used as such a function. The same function is Lyapunov function when analyzing the stability of the determined stationary operational modes of a hydrosystem using the direct Lyapunov method.

Mathematical modelling of the magnetic system by A. N. Tikhonov regularization method
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 165-175

In this paper the problem of searching for the design of the magnetic system for creation a magnetic field with the required characteristics in the given area is solved. On the basis of analysis of the mathematical model of the magnetic system rather a general approach is proposed to the solving of the inverse problem, which is written by the Fredgolm equation H(z) = ∫SIJ(s)G(z, s)ds, z ∈ S H, s ∈ S I . It was necessary to define the current density distribution function J(s) and the existing winding geometry for creation of a required magnetic field H(z). In the paper a method of solving those by means of regularized iterative processes is proposed. On the base of the concrete magnetic system we perform the numerical study of influence of different factors on the character of the magnetic field being designed.

Numerical modeling of straight 3D exploration seismology problems with use of grid-characteristic method on unstructured tetrahedral meshes
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 4, pp. 875-887

The article contains results of 3D modeling of seismic responses from fractured geological formations with use of grid-characteristic method on unstructured tetrahedral meshes with use of high-performance computation systems. The method being used is the most suitable for modeling of heterogenic domains exploration seismology problems. The use of unstructured tetrahedral meshes allows modeling of different geometry and space orientation fractures. That gives us possibility to solve the problems in the most real set.

The development of fracture mathematical models for numerical solution of exploration seismology problems with use of grid-characteristic method
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 6, pp. 911-925

The article contains the description of developed mathematical models of fractures which can be used for numerical solution of exploration seismology problems with use of grid-characteristic method on unstructured triangular and tetrahedral meshes. The base of developed models is the concept of infinitely thin fracture. This fracture is represented by contact boundary. Such approach significantly reduces the consumption of computer resources by the absence of the mesh definition inside of fracture necessity. By the other side it lets state the fracture discretely in integration domain, therefore one can observe qualitative new effects which are not available to observe by use of effective models of fractures, actively used in computational seismic.

The main target in the development of models have been getting the most accurate result. Developed models thet can receive the response close to the actual response of the existing fracture in geological environment. We considered fluid-filled fractures, glued and partially glued fractures, and also fractures with dynamical friction force. Fracture behavior determinated by the nature of condition on the border.

Empty fracture was represented as free boundary condition. This condition give us opportunity for total reflection of wave fronts from fracture. Fluid-filling provided the condition for sliding on the border. Under this condition, there was a passage of longitudinal and total reflection of converted waves. For the real fractures, which has unequal distance between the borders has been proposed the model of partially glued fracture. At different points of the fracture's boundary were sat different conditions. Almost the same effect is achieved by using a fracture model of dynamic friction condition. But its disadvantage is the inabillity to specify the proportion of fracture's glued area due to the friction factor can take values from zero to infinity. The model of partially glued fracture is devoid of this disadvantage.

Optimization of a hull form for decrease ship resistance to movement
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 1, pp. 57-65

Optimization of hull lines for the minimum resistance to movement is a problem of current interest in ship hydrodynamics. In practice, lines design is still to some extent an art. The usual approaches to decrease the ship resistance are based on the model experiment and/or CFD simulation, following the trial and error method. The paper presents a new method of in-detail hull form design based on the wave-based optimization approach. The method provides systematic variation of the hull geometrical form, which corresponds to alteration of longitudinal distribution of the hull volume, while its vertical volume distribution is fixed or highly controlled. It’s well known from the theoretical studies that the vertical distribution can't be optimized by condition of minimum wave resistance, thus it can be neglected for the optimization procedures. The method efficiency was investigated by application to the foreship of KCS, the well-known test object from the workshop Gothenburg-2000. The variations of the longitudinal distribution of the volume were set on the sectional area curve as finite volume increments and then transferred to the lines plan with the help of special frame transformation methods. The CFD towing simulations were carried out for the initial hull form and the six modified variants. According to the simulation results, examined modifications caused the resistance increments in the range 1.3–6.5 %. Optimization process was underpinned with the respective data analysis based on the new hypothesis, according to which, the resistance increments caused by separate longitudinal segments of hull form meet the principle of superposition. The achieved results, which are presented as the optimum distribution of volume present in the optimized designed hull form, which shows the interesting characteristics that its resistance has decrease by 8.9 % in respect to initial KCS hull form. Visualization of the wave patterns showed an attenuation of the transversal wave components, and the intensification of the diverging wave components.

    World dynamics patterns modeling
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 3, pp. 419-432

In the article is carried out the analysis of historical process with the use of methods of synergetics (science about the nonlinear developing systems in nature and the society), developed in the works of D. S. Chernavskii in connection with to economic and social systems. It is shown that social self-organizing depending on conditions leads to the formation of both the societies with the strong internal competition (Y-structures) and cooperative type societies (X-structures). Y-structures are characteristic for the countries of the West, X-structure are characteristic for the countries of the East. It is shown that in XIX and in XX centuries occurred accelerated shaping and strengthening of Y-structures. However, at present world system entered into the period of serious structural changes in the economic, political, ideological spheres: the domination of Y-structures concludes. Are examined the possible ways of further development of the world system, connected with change in the regimes of self-organizing and limitation of internal competition. This passage will be prolonged and complex. Under these conditions it will objectively grow the value of the civilizational experience of Russia, on basis of which was formed combined type social system. It is shown that ultimately inevitable the passage from the present do-mination of Y-structures to the absolutely new global system, whose stability will be based on the new ideology, the new spirituality (i.e., new “conditional information” according D. S. Chernavskii), which makes a turn from the principles of competition to the principles of collaboration.

Identification of a controlled object using frequency responses obtained from a dynamic neural network model of a control system
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 5, pp. 729-740

We present results of a study aimed at identification of a controlled object’s channels based on postprocessing of measurements with development of a model of a multiple-input controlled object and subsequent active modelling experiment. The controlled object model is developed using approximation of its behavior by a neural network model using trends obtained during a passive experiment in the mode of normal operation. Recurrent neural network containing feedback elements allows to simulate behavior of dynamic objects; input and feedback time delays allow to simulate behavior of inertial objects with pure delay. The model was taught using examples of the object’s operation with a control system and is presented by a dynamic neural network and a model of a regulator with a known regulation function. The neural network model simulates the system’s behavior and is used to conduct active computing experiments. Neural network model allows to obtain the controlled object’s response to an exploratory stimulus, including a periodic one. The obtained complex frequency response is used to evaluate parameters of the object’s transfer system using the least squares method. We present an example of identification of a channel of the simulated control system. The simulated object has two input ports and one output port and varying transport delays in transfer channels. One of the input ports serves as a controlling stimulus, the second is a controlled perturbation. The controlled output value changes as a result of control stimulus produced by the regulator operating according to the proportional-integral regulation law based on deviation of the controlled value from the task. The obtained parameters of the object’s channels’ transfer functions are close to the parameters of the input simulated object. The obtained normalized error of the reaction for a single step-wise stimulus of the control system model developed based on identification of the simulated control system doesn’t exceed 0.08. The considered objects pertain to the class of technological processes with continuous production. Such objects are characteristic of chemical, metallurgic, mine-mill, pulp and paper, and other industries.

Simulation of mixed convection of a variable viscosity fluid in a partially porous horizontal channel with a heat-generating source
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 1, pp. 95-107

Numerical study of unsteady mixed convection in an open partially porous horizontal channel with a heatgenerating source was performed. The outer surfaces of horizontal walls of finite thickness were adiabatic. In the channel there was a Newtonian heat-conducting fluid with a temperature-dependent viscosity. The discrete heatconducting and heat-generating source is located inside the bottom wall. The temperature of the fluid phase was equal to the temperature of the porous medium, and calculations were performed using the local thermal equilibrium model. The porous insertion is isotropic, homogeneous and permeable to fluid. The Darcy–Brinkman model was used to simulate the transport process within the porous medium. Governing equations formulated in dimensionless variables “stream function – vorticity – temperature” using the Boussinesq approximation were solved numerically by the finite difference method. The vorticity dispersion equation and energy equation were solved using locally one-dimensional Samarskii scheme. The diffusive terms were approximated by central differences, while the convective terms were approximated using monotonic Samarskii scheme. The difference equations were solved by the Thomas algorithm. The approximated Poisson equation for the stream function was solved separately by successive over-relaxation method. Optimal value of the relaxation parameter was found on the basis of computational experiments. The developed computational code was tested using a set of uniform grids and verified by comparing the results obtained of other authors.

Numerical analysis of unsteady mixed convection of variable viscosity fluid in the horizontal channel with a heat-generating source was performed for the following parameters: $\mathrm{Pr} = 7.0$, $\varepsilon = 0.8$, $\mathrm{Gr} = 10^5$, $C = 0-1$, $10^{-5} < \mathrm{Da} < 10^{-1}$, $50 < \mathrm{Re} < 500$, $\delta = l/H = 0.6-3$. Distributions of the isolines of the stream function, temperature and the dependences of the average Nusselt number and the average temperature inside the heater were obtained in a steady-state regime, when the stationary picture of the flow and heat transfer is observed. As a result we showed that an addition of a porous insertion leads to an intensification of heat removal from the surface of the energy source. The increase in the porous insertion sizes and the use of working fluid with different thermal characteristics, lead to a decrease in temperature inside the source.
