The task of integral geometry with measure induction
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 31-37A new statement of Integral Geometry problem where the image of function in each point is taken as an integral with respect to measure which depends on the point is suggested. Such Measure System is named Measure Induction. It is shown that an inversion formula exists for class of measures having a unit atom in corresponding
point and limited on whole space. Previously obtained results for average on systems of measurement dissections and for weight average on graphs are generalized. -
Complimentary information using in the task of averaging operators inversion in function space
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 3, pp. 241-254The dual task of integral geometry – to define for a given averaging operator the function class where inversion of that operator is possible – is solved. Those classes are defined ambiguously. Full description of those classes is given in the form of minimal complimentary information necessary to know about the function. The possible to give a constructive description of the class is researched and in the case of a finite averaging system the inversion formulas are given.

Import model of flexible woven composites in ANSYS Mechanical APDL
Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 6, pp. 789-799Views (last year): 34.A variant of import into ANSYS Mechanical APDL system of the model of behavior of flexible woven composite materials with reinforcing weaving cloth of linen at static stretching along the reinforcement yarns is offered. The import was carried out using an integration module based on the use of an analytical model of deformation of the material under study. The model is presented in the articles published earlier and takes into account the changes in the geometric structure occurring in the reinforcing layer of the material during the deformation process, the formation of irreversible deformations and the interaction of cross-lying reinforcing fabric threads. In the introduction input characteristics of the plain weave of the reinforcing fabric and the analytical model imported into ANSYS are briefly described. The input parameters of the module are the mechanical characteristics of the materials that make up the composite (binder and material of reinforcement yarns), the geometric characteristics of the interlacing of the reinforcing fabric. The algorithm for importing the model is based on the calculation and transfer in ANSYS of the calculated points of the material stress-strain diagram for uniaxial stretching along the reinforcement direction and using the Multilinear Kinematich Hardening model material embedded in the ANSYS. The analytical model imported with the help of the presented module allows to model a composite material with reinforcing fabric without a detailed description of the geometry of the interlacing of threads during modeling of the material as a whole. The imported model was verified. For verification full-scale experimental studies and numerical simulation of the stretching of samples from flexible woven composites were carried out. The analysis of the obtained results showed good qualitative and quantitative agreement of calculations.

Numerical investigation of coherent and turbulent structures of light via nonlinear integral mappings
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 5, pp. 979-992The propagation of stable coherent entities of an electromagnetic field in nonlinear media with parameters varying in space can be described in the framework of iterations of nonlinear integral transformations. It is shown that for a set of geometries relevant to typical problems of nonlinear optics, numerical modeling by reducing to dynamical systems with discrete time and continuous spatial variables to iterates of local nonlinear Feigenbaum and Ikeda mappings and nonlocal diffusion-dispersion linear integral transforms is equivalent to partial differential equations of the Ginzburg–Landau type in a fairly wide range of parameters. Such nonlocal mappings, which are the products of matrix operators in the numerical implementation, turn out to be stable numerical- difference schemes, provide fast convergence and an adequate approximation of solutions. The realism of this approach allows one to take into account the effect of noise on nonlinear dynamics by superimposing a spatial noise specified in the form of a multimode random process at each iteration and selecting the stable wave configurations. The nonlinear wave formations described by this method include optical phase singularities, spatial solitons, and turbulent states with fast decay of correlations. The particular interest is in the periodic configurations of the electromagnetic field obtained by this numerical method that arise as a result of phase synchronization, such as optical lattices and self-organized vortex clusters.

Computation of a shock wave structure in a gas mixture based on the Boltzmann equation with accuracy control
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 5, pp. 1107-1123In this paper, the structure of a shock wave in a binary gas mixture is studied on the basis of direct solution of the Boltzmann kinetic equation. The conservative projection method is used to evaluate the collision integral in the kinetic equation. The applied evaluation formulas and numerical methods are described in detail. The model of hard spheres is used as an interaction potential of molecules. Numerical simulation is performed using the developed simulation environment software, which makes it possible to study both steady and non-steady flows of gas mixtures in various flow regimes and for an arbitrary geometry of the problem. Modeling is performed on a cluster architecture. Due to the use of code parallelization technologies, a significant acceleration of computations is achieved. With a fixed accuracy controlled by the simulation parameters, the distributions of macroscopic characteristics of the mixture components through the shock wave front were obtained. Computations were conducted for various ratios of molecular masses and Mach numbers. The total accuracy of at least 1% for the local values of molecular density and temperature and 3% for the shock front width was achieved. The obtained results were compared with existing computation data. The results presented in this paper are of theoretical significance, and can serve as a test computation, since they are obtained using the exact Boltzmann equation.

Development of a methodological approach and numerical simulation of thermal-hydraulic processes in the intermediate heat exchanger of a BN reactor
Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 4, pp. 877-894The paper presents the results of three-dimensional numerical simulation of thermal-hydraulic processes in the Intermediate Heat Exchanger of the advanced Sodium-Cooled Fast-Neutron (BN) Reactor considering a developed methodological approach.
The Intermediate Heat Exchanger (IHX) is located in the reactor vessel and intended to transfer heat from the primary sodium circulating on the shell side to the secondary sodium circulating on the tube side. In case of an integral layout of the primary equipment in the BN reactor, upstream the IHX inlet windows there is a temperature stratification of the coolant due to incomplete mixing of different temperature flows at the core outlet. Inside the IHX, in the area of the input and output windows, a complex longitudinal and transverse flow of the coolant also takes place resulting in an uneven distribution of the coolant flow rate on the tube side and, as a consequence, in an uneven temperature distribution and heat transfer efficiency along the height and radius of the tube bundle.
In order to confirm the thermal-hydraulic parameters of the IHX of the advanced BN reactor applied in the design, a methodological approach for three-dimensional numerical simulation of the heat exchanger located in the reactor vessel was developed, taking into account the three-dimensional sodium flow pattern at the IHX inlet and inside the IHX, as well as justifying the recommendations for simplifying the geometry of the computational model of the IHX.
Numerical simulation of thermal-hydraulic processes in the IHX of the advanced BN reactor was carried out using the FlowVision software package with the standard $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model and the LMS turbulent heat transfer model.
To increase the representativeness of numerical simulation of the IHX tube bundle, verification calculations of singletube and multi-tube sodium-sodium heat exchangers were performed with the geometric characteristics corresponding to the IHX design.
To determine the input boundary conditions in the IHX model, an additional three-dimensional calculation was performed taking into account the uneven flow pattern in the upper mixing chamber of the reactor.
The IHX computational model was optimized by simplifying spacer belts and selecting a sector model.
As a result of numerical simulation of the IHX, the distributions of the primary sodium velocity and primary and secondary sodium temperature were obtained. Satisfactory agreement of the calculation results with the design data on integral parameters confirmed the adopted design thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the IHX of the advanced BN reactor.

Image classification based on deep learning with automatic relevance determination and structured Bayesian pruning
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 4, pp. 927-938Deep learning’s power stems from complex architectures; however, these can lead to overfitting, where models memorize training data and fail to generalize to unseen examples. This paper proposes a novel probabilistic approach to mitigate this issue. We introduce two key elements: Truncated Log-Uniform Prior and Truncated Log-Normal Variational Approximation, and Automatic Relevance Determination (ARD) with Bayesian Deep Neural Networks (BDNNs). Within the probabilistic framework, we employ a specially designed truncated log-uniform prior for noise. This prior acts as a regularizer, guiding the learning process towards simpler solutions and reducing overfitting. Additionally, a truncated log-normal variational approximation is used for efficient handling of the complex probability distributions inherent in deep learning models. ARD automatically identifies and removes irrelevant features or weights within a model. By integrating ARD with BDNNs, where weights have a probability distribution, we achieve a variational bound similar to the popular variational dropout technique. Dropout randomly drops neurons during training, encouraging the model not to rely heavily on any single feature. Our approach with ARD achieves similar benefits without the randomness of dropout, potentially leading to more stable training.
To evaluate our approach, we have tested the model on two datasets: the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research (CIFAR-10) for image classification and a dataset of Macroscopic Images of Wood, which is compiled from multiple macroscopic images of wood datasets. Our method is applied to established architectures like Visual Geometry Group (VGG) and Residual Network (ResNet). The results demonstrate significant improvements. The model reduced overfitting while maintaining, or even improving, the accuracy of the network’s predictions on classification tasks. This validates the effectiveness of our approach in enhancing the performance and generalization capabilities of deep learning models.

Simulation of traffic flows based on the quasi-gasdynamic approach and the cellular automata theory using supercomputers
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 1, pp. 175-194The purpose of the study is to simulate the dynamics of traffic flows on city road networks as well as to systematize the current state of affairs in this area. The introduction states that the development of intelligent transportation systems as an integral part of modern transportation technologies is coming to the fore. The core of these systems contain adequate mathematical models that allow to simulate traffic as close to reality as possible. The necessity of using supercomputers due to the large amount of calculations is also noted, therefore, the creation of special parallel algorithms is needed. The beginning of the article is devoted to the up-to-date classification of traffic flow models and characterization of each class, including their distinctive features and relevant examples with links. Further, the main focus of the article is shifted towards the development of macroscopic and microscopic models, created by the authors, and determination of the place of these models in the aforementioned classification. The macroscopic model is based on the continuum approach and uses the ideology of quasi-gasdynamic systems of equations. Its advantages are indicated in comparison with existing models of this class. The model is presented both in one-dimensional and two-dimensional versions. The both versions feature the ability to study multi-lane traffic. In the two-dimensional version it is made possible by introduction of the concept of “lateral” velocity, i. e., the speed of changing lanes. The latter version allows for carrying out calculations in the computational domain which corresponds to the actual geometry of the road. The section also presents the test results of modeling vehicle dynamics on a road fragment with the local widening and on a road fragment with traffic lights, including several variants of traffic light regimes. In the first case, the calculations allow to draw interesting conclusions about the impact of a road widening on a road capacity as a whole, and in the second case — to select the optimal regime configuration to obtain the “green wave” effect. The microscopic model is based on the cellular automata theory and the single-lane Nagel – Schreckenberg model and is generalized for the multi-lane case by the authors of the article. The model implements various behavioral strategies of drivers. Test computations for the real transport network section in Moscow city center are presented. To achieve an adequate representation of vehicles moving through the network according to road traffic regulations the authors implemented special algorithms adapted for parallel computing. Test calculations were performed on the K-100 supercomputer installed in the Centre of Collective Usage of KIAM RAS.
