Mathematical modeling of bending of a circular plate using $S$-splines
Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 5, pp. 977-988Views (last year): 4.This article is dedicated to the use of higher degree $S$-splines for solving equations of the elasticity theory. As an example we consider the solution to the equation of bending of a plate on a circle. $S$-spline is a piecewise-polynomial function. Its coefficients are defined by two conditions. The first part of the coefficients are defined by the smoothness of the spline. The rest are determined using the least-squares method. We consider class $C^4$ 7th degree $S$-splines.

Solving of boundary tasks by using S-spline
Computer Research and Modeling, 2009, v. 1, no. 2, pp. 161-171Views (last year): 8. Citations: 8 (RSCI).This article is dedicated to use of S-spline theory for solving equations in partial derivatives. For example, we consider solution of the Poisson equation. S-spline — is a piecewise-polynomial function. Its coefficients are defined by two states. The first part of coefficients are defined by smoothness of the spline. The second coefficients are determined by least-squares method. According to order of considered polynomial and number of conditions of first and second type we get S-splines with different properties. At this moment we have investigated order 3 S-splines of class C1 and order 5 S-splines of class C2 (they meet conditions of smoothness of order 1 and 2 respectively). We will consider how the order 3 S-splines of class C1 can be applied for solving equation of Poisson on circle and other areas.

Analysis of dissipative properties of a hybrid large-particle method for structurally complicated gas flows
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 4, pp. 757-772We study the computational properties of a parametric class of finite-volume schemes with customizable dissipative properties with splitting by physical processes into Lagrangian, Eulerian, and the final stages (the hybrid large-particle method). The method has a second-order approximation in space and time on smooth solutions. The regularization of a numerical solution at the Lagrangian stage is performed by nonlinear correction of artificial viscosity. Regardless of the grid resolution, the artificial viscosity value tends to zero outside the zone of discontinuities and extremes in the solution. At Eulerian and final stages, primitive variables (density, velocity, and total energy) are first reconstructed by an additive combination of upwind and central approximations weighted by a flux limiter. Then numerical divergent fluxes are formed from them. In this case, discrete analogs of conservation laws are performed.
The analysis of dissipative properties of the method using known viscosity and flow limiters, as well as their linear combination, is performed. The resolution of the scheme and the quality of numerical solutions are demonstrated by examples of two-dimensional benchmarks: a gas flow around the step with Mach numbers 3, 10 and 20, the double Mach reflection of a strong shock wave, and the implosion problem. The influence of the scheme viscosity of the method on the numerical reproduction of a gases interface instability is studied. It is found that a decrease of the dissipation level in the implosion problem leads to the symmetric solution destruction and formation of a chaotic instability on the contact surface.
Numerical solutions are compared with the results of other authors obtained using higher-order approximation schemes: CABARET, HLLC (Harten Lax van Leer Contact), CFLFh (CFLF hybrid scheme), JT (centered scheme with limiter by Jiang and Tadmor), PPM (Piecewise Parabolic Method), WENO5 (weighted essentially non-oscillatory scheme), RKGD (Runge –Kutta Discontinuous Galerkin), hybrid weighted nonlinear schemes CCSSR-HW4 and CCSSR-HW6. The advantages of the hybrid large-particle method include extended possibilities for solving hyperbolic and mixed types of problems, a good ratio of dissipative and dispersive properties, a combination of algorithmic simplicity and high resolution in problems with complex shock-wave structure, both instability and vortex formation at interfaces.

Motion control by a highly maneuverable mobile robot in the task of following an object
Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 5, pp. 1301-1321This article is devoted to the development of an algorithm for trajectory control of a highly maneuverable four-wheeled robotic transport platform equipped with mecanum wheels, in order to organize its movement behind some moving object. The calculation of the kinematic ratios of this platform in a fixed coordinate system is presented, which is necessary to determine the angular velocities of the robot wheels depending on a given velocity vector. An algorithm has been developed for the robot to follow a mobile object on a plane without obstacles based on the use of a modified chase method using different types of control functions. The chase method consists in the fact that the velocity vector of the geometric center of the platform is co-directed with the vector connecting the geometric center of the platform and the moving object. Two types of control functions are implemented: piecewise and constant. The piecewise function means control with switching modes depending on the distance from the robot to the target. The main feature of the piecewise function is a smooth change in the robot’s speed. Also, the control functions are divided according to the nature of behavior when the robot approaches the target. When using one of the piecewise functions, the robot’s movement slows down when a certain distance between the robot and the target is reached and stops completely at a critical distance. Another type of behavior when approaching the target is to change the direction of the velocity vector to the opposite, if the distance between the platform and the object is the minimum allowable, which avoids collisions when the target moves in the direction of the robot. This type of behavior when approaching the goal is implemented for a piecewise and constant function. Numerical simulation of the robot control algorithm for various control functions in the task of chasing a target, where the target moves in a circle, is performed. The pseudocode of the control algorithm and control functions is presented. Graphs of the robot’s trajectory when moving behind the target, speed changes, changes in the angular velocities of the wheels from time to time for various control functions are shown.

Mathematical modeling of the optimal market of competing goods in conditions of deliveries lags
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 2, pp. 431-450Views (last year): 1. Citations: 3 (RSCI).The nonlinear restrictive (with restrictions of the inequalities type) dynamic mathematical model of the committed competition vacant market of many goods in conditions of the goods deliveries time-lag and of the linear dependency of the demand vector from the prices vector is offered. The problem of finding of prices and deliveries of goods into the market which are optimal (from seller’s profit standpoint) is formulated. It is shown the seller’s total profit maximum is expressing by the continuous piecewise smooth function of vector of volumes of deliveries with breakup of the derivative on borders of zones of the goods deficit, of the overstocking and of the dynamic balance of demand and offer of each of goods. With use of the predicate functions technique the computing algorithm of optimization of the goods deliveries into the market is built.
