Mathematical modeling of the mechanism of a reproductive strategies differentiation in natural populations (on the example of arctic fox, Alopex lagopus)
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 2, pp. 213-228Views (last year): 7. Citations: 5 (RSCI).This paper considers the integrated approach to modeling the dynamics of genetic structure and the number of natural population. A set of dynamic models with different types of natural selection is used to describe a possible mechanism for the fixing of a genetic diversity in size of the litter in coastal, continental and farmed populations of arctic fox (Alopex lagopus, Canidae, Carnivora) observed now. The most interesting results have been obtained with the model of population consisting of two stages of development. At that with the frame of this model a dynamics of population genetic structure on genotypes was analyzed to consider different reproductive abilities and fitnesses of pups on the early stage of lifecycle which defined by the single diallelic gene. This model allows to receive a monomorphism for coastal populations of arctic fox, where food resources are practically constant. As well the model allows polymorphism with cyclical fluctuations in the number and frequency of the gene in the continental populations due to regular fluctuating of rodent number, the major component of its food. In farmed populations by selective selection carried out by farmers to increase the reproductive success, this gene is a pleiotropic one (i. e., determining the survival rate of individuals both early and late stages of their life cycle); so an application of appropriate model (with the selection of pleiotropic gene) allows to get an adequate rate of elimination for small litters allele.

Numerical modelling of seismic waves spread in models with an ice field in the arctic shelf
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 1, pp. 73-82The Arctic region contains large hydrocarbon deposits. The presence of different ice formations, such as icebergs, ice hummocks, ice fields, complicates the process of carrying out seismic works on the territory. The last of them, ice fields, bring multiple reflections, spreading all over the surface of ice, into seismogramms. These multiple reflections are necessary to be taken into account while analyzing the seismograms, and geologists should be able to exclude them in order to obtain the reflected waves from the lower geological layers, including hydrocarbon layers.
In this work, we solve the problem of the seismic waves spread in the heterogeneous medium. The systems of equations for the linear elastic medium and for the acoustic medium describe the geological layers. We present the detailed description of the numerical solution of these systems of equations with the help of the grid-characteristic method. The final 1D transfer equations are solved with the use of the Rusanov scheme of the third order of accuracy. In the work, we examine the way of multiple waves decrease in ice by establishing the source of impulse deep into the ice field on border with water. We present the results of computer modelling of the seismic waves spread in geological layers, where the seismic source of impulse is situated on the contact border between ice and water, and also with the seismic source of impulse on the surface of ice for the 3D case. The results of the numerical modelling are presented by wave fields, graphs of the velocity x-components and seismogramms for the two problem formulations. We carry out the analysis of influence of establishing the source of impulse on the border between ice and water on the decrease of the x-components of seismic wave velocities, on seismogramms and on wave fields. As a result, the model, where the seismic source of impulse is situated on the contact border between ice and water, makes worse the final result. The model with the source of impulse on the surface of ice demonstrates a decrease of the x-components of seismic wave velocities.

Estimation of anisotropy of seismic response from fractured geological objects
Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 2, pp. 231-240Views (last year): 11. Citations: 4 (RSCI).Seismic survey process is the common method of prospecting and exploration of deposits: oil and natural gas. Invented at the beginning of the XX century, it has received significant development and is currently used by almost all service oil companies. Its main advantages are the acceptable cost of fieldwork (in comparison with drilling wells) and the accuracy of estimating the characteristics of the subsurface area. However, with the discovery of non-traditional deposits (for example, the Arctic shelf, the Bazhenov Formation), the task of improving existing and creating new seismic data processing technologies became important. Significant development in this direction is possible with the use of numerical simulation of the propagation of seismic waves in realistic models of the geological medium, since it is possible to specify an arbitrary internal structure of the medium with subsequent evaluation of the synthetic signal-response.
The present work is devoted to the study of spatial dynamic processes occurring in geological medium containing fractured inclusions in the process of seismic exploration. The authors constructed a three-dimensional model of a layered massif containing a layer of fluid-saturated cracks, which makes it possible to estimate the signal-response when the structure of the inhomogeneous inclusion is varied. To describe physical processes, we use a system of equations for a linearly elastic body in partial derivatives of the second order, which is solved numerically by a grid-characteristic method on hexahedral grid. In this case, the crack planes are identified at the stage of constructing the grid, and further an additional correction is used to ensure a correct seismic response for the model parameters typical for geological media.
In the paper, three-component area seismograms with a common explosion point were obtained. On their basis, the effect of the structure of a fractured medium on the anisotropy of the seismic response recorded on the day surface at a different distance from the source was estimated. It is established that the kinematic characteristics of the signal remain constant, while the dynamic characteristics for ordered and disordered models can differ by tens of percents.

On the modeling of water obstacles overcoming by Rangifer tarandus L
Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 5, pp. 895-910Seasonal migrations and herd instinct are traditionally recognized as wild reindeer (Rangifer tarandus L.) species-specific behavioral signs. These animals are forced to overcome water obstacles during the migrations. Behaviour peculiarities are considered as the result of the selection process, which has chosen among the sets of strategies, as the only evolutionarily stable one, determining the reproduction and biological survival of wild reindeer as a species. Natural processes in the Taimyr population wild reindeer are currently occurring against the background of an increase in the influence of negative factors due to the escalation of the industrial development of the Arctic. That is why the need to identify the ethological features of these animals completely arose. This paper presents the results of applying the classical methods of the theory of optimal control and differential games to the wild reindeer study of the migration patterns in overcoming water barriers, including major rivers. Based on these animals’ ethological features and behavior forms, the herd is presented as a controlled dynamic system, which presents also two classes of individuals: the leader and the rest of the herd, for which their models, describing the trajectories of their movement, are constructed. The models are based on hypotheses, which are the mathematical formalization of some animal behavior patterns. This approach made it possible to find the trajectory of the important one using the methods of the optimal control theory, and in constructing the trajectories of other individuals, apply the principle of control with a guide. Approbation of the obtained results, which can be used in the formation of a common “platform” for the adaptive behavior models systematic construction and as a reserve for the cognitive evolution models fundamental development, is numerically carried out using a model example with observational data on the Werchnyaya Taimyra River.

Comparison of Arctic zone RF companies with different Polar Index ratings by economic criteria with the help of machine learning tools
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 1, pp. 201-215The paper presents a comparative analysis of the enterprises of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZ RF) on economic indicators in accordance with the rating of the Polar index. This study includes numerical data of 193 enterprises located in the AZ RF. Machine learning methods are applied, both standard, from open source, and own original methods — the method of Optimally Reliable Partitions (ORP), the method of Statistically Weighted Syndromes (SWS). Held split, indicating the maximum value of the functional quality, this study used the simplest family of different one-dimensional partition with a single boundary point, as well as a collection of different two-dimensional partition with one boundary point on each of the two combining variables. Permutation tests allow not only to evaluate the reliability of the data of the revealed regularities, but also to exclude partitions with excessive complexity from the set of the revealed regularities. Patterns connected the class number and economic indicators are revealed using the SDT method on one-dimensional indicators. The regularities which are revealed within the framework of the simplest one-dimensional model with one boundary point and with significance not worse than p < 0.001 are also presented in the given study. The so-called sliding control method was used for reliable evaluation of such diagnostic ability. As a result of these studies, a set of methods that had sufficient effectiveness was identified. The collective method based on the results of several machine learning methods showed the high importance of economic indicators for the division of enterprises in accordance with the rating of the Polar index. Our study proved and showed that those companies that entered the top Rating of the Polar index are generally recognized by financial indicators among all companies in the Arctic Zone. However it would be useful to supplement the list of indicators with ecological and social criteria.
