On spectral properties of a nonselfadjoint difference operator
Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 143-150The eigenvalue problem for a nonselfadjoint difference operator with nonconstant coefficient is considered. The main peculiarity of the problem is that its solution satisfies a two-point nonlocal boundary condition. Multiplicity of eigenvalues is discussed and a region where all eigenvalues reside is defined taking into account a very generic assumption about the nonconstant coefficient.

Mathematical model of shear stress flows in the vein in the presence of obliterating thrombus
Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 169-182Views (last year): 1.In this paper a numerical model for blood flow through a venous bifurcation with an obliterating clot is investigated. We studied propagation of perturbations of blood flow velocity and perturbations of pressure inside the vein. The model is built in acoustic (linear) approximation. Computational results reveal conditions for clot resonance oscillation, which can cause its detachment and thromboembolism.

Biological and physico-chemical data from natural objects for ecological environmental monitoring
Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 199-207Views (last year): 1. Citations: 9 (RSCI).Methods for establishing standards of environmental quality by data of ecological monitoring are proposed. These are: methods of bioindication by indices of species diversity and size structure of communities, by indices of fish productivity; method for searching for reasons of environmental trouble and ranking them by their contribution into the trouble; methods for standardization of factors which are important as causes of environmental trouble.

Polypolar coordination and symmetries
Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 4, pp. 329-341Views (last year): 1.The polypolar system of coordinates is formed by a family of a parametrized on a radius isofocal of kf-lemniscates. As well as the classical polar system of coordinates, it characterizes a point of a plane by a polypolar radius ρ and polypolar angle φ. For anyone connectedness a family isometric of curve ρ = const – lemniscates and family gradient of curves φ = const – are mutually orthogonal conjugate coordinate families. The singularities of polypolar coordination, its symmetry, and also curvilinear symmetries on multifocal lemniscates are considered.

Semilocal smoothing splines or S-splines from class C p are considered. These splines consist of polynomials of a degree n, first p + 1 coefficients of each polynomial are determined by values of the previous polynomial and p its derivatives at the point of splice, coefficients at higher terms of the polynomial are determined by the least squares method. These conditions are supplemented by the periodicity condition for the spline function on the whole segment of definition or by initial conditions. Uniqueness and existence theorems are proved. Stability and convergence conditions for these splines are established.

Flow relaxation method in solving quasilinear parabolic equations
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 47-53Views (last year): 1. Citations: 1 (RSCI).This article proposes a numeric method of solution of quasilinear parabolic equations, based on the flux approximation, describes the implementation of the method on a rectangular grid and presents numerical results. Unlike methods used in common practice, this method uses an approximation of flows in non-dilated template. For each iteration of the Newton method it is possible to solve a linear problem using the method of upper relaxation (SOR). Compared with the methods of flux sweeping, the considered method has greater potential for use in modern parallel computing system.

Dissipative Stochastic Dynamic Model of Language Signs Evolution
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 103-124We offer the dissipative stochastic dynamic model of the language sign evolution, satisfying to the principle of the least action, one of fundamental variational principles of the Nature. The model conjectures the Poisson nature of the birth flow of language signs and the exponential distribution of their associative-semantic potential (ASP). The model works with stochastic difference equations of the special type for dissipative processes. The equation for momentary polysemy distribution and frequency-rank distribution drawn from our model do not differs significantly (by Kolmogorov-Smirnov’s test) from empirical distributions, got from main Russian and English explanatory dictionaries as well as frequency dictionaries of them.

Diffusion instability in a threevariable reaction–diffusion model
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 135-146Views (last year): 1. Citations: 7 (RSCI).Investigation of occurrence of diffusion instability in a set of three reaction–diffusion equations is carried out. In the general case the condition for both Turing and wave instabilities are obtained. Qualitative properties of the system, in which the bifurcation of each of the two types can take place, are clarified. In numerical experiments it is shown that if the corresponding conditions are met in the nonlinear model, spatiotemporal patterns are formed, which are predicted by linear analysis.

Modeling the behavior proceeding market crash in a hierarchically organized financial market
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 215-222Views (last year): 1.We consider the hierarchical model of financial crashes introduced by A. Johansen and D. Sornette which reproduces the log-periodic power law behavior of the price before the critical point. In order to build the generalization of this model we introduce the dependence of an influence exponent on an ultrametric distance between agents. Much attention is being paid to a problem of critical point universality which is investigated by comparison of probability density functions of the crash times corresponding to systems with various total numbers of agents.
