On one resolvent method for integrating the low angle trajectories of a heavy point projectile motion under quadratic air resistance
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 3, pp. 265-277Views (last year): 1. Citations: 6 (RSCI).New key parameters, namely b0 = tgθ0, θ0 — angle of throwing, Ra — top curvature radius and β0 — dimensionless speed square on the top of low angular trajectory were suggested in classic problem of integrating nonlinear equations of point mass projectile motion with quadratic air drag. Very precise formulae were obtained in a new way for coordinates x(b), y(b) and fly time t(b), b = tgθ where θ is inclination angle. This method is based on Legendre transformation and its precision is automatically improved in wide range of the θ0 values and drag force parameters α. The precision was monitored by Maple computing product.

Two families of the simple iteration method, in comparison
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 5-29Convergence to the solution of the linear system with real quadrate non singular matrix A with real necessary different sign eigen values of two families of simple iteration method: two-parametric and symmetrized one-parametric generated by these A and b is considered. Also these methods are compared when matrix A is a symmetric one. In this case it is proved that the coefficient of the optimal compression of two-parametric family is strongly less than the coefficient of the optimal compression of symmetrized one-parametric family of the simple iteration method.

The modified twosweep iteration technique for the constraction of Mathieu’s functions
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 31-43Views (last year): 1.The modified two-sweep iteration procedure was proposed, built according to the least-squares method scheme, which determines progressive approximations to the periodic solution of Mathieu’s equation and his own function, considerably superior according to the accuracy earlier well-known results.

On application of the asymptotic tests for estimating the number of mixture distribution components
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 45-53Views (last year): 1. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The paper demonstrates the efficiency of asymptotically most powerful test of statistical hypotheses about the number of mixture components in the adding and splitting component models. Test data are the samples from different finite normal mixtures. The results are compared for various significance levels and weights.

Latticed deployable shells made of strips assembled from trapezoid plates
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 63-73Views (last year): 1. Citations: 3 (RSCI).This paper covers deployable systems assembled from a set of trapezium plates. The middles lines of the plates represent a plane curve in the original position of the package. It is proved that when the package of thin plates is unwrapped, a surface approximating a shell of nearly any curvature is formed. Kinematics of the continual model is analyzed by the method of Cartan moving hedron, extending the results the authors published earlier. Various applications of rotating shells are shown. Experimental models of deployable latticed systems are demonstrated.

Numerical investigation of spatially periodic rolls structures of liquid dielectrics isothermal electro–convection in a plane–parallel electrode system
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 91-98Views (last year): 1. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Isothermal electroconvection in a dielectric liquid arising in a plane-parallel electrode system due to unipolar injection of charges from the cathode is considered. Spatially periodic rolls structures stability is investigated.

Centrally symmetric steady states in a model of electrodiffusion
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 99-104Views (last year): 1.We study the centrally symmetric mathematical model of electrodiffusion. This model describes in particular the transport of the Li+ ions in certain electrochemical current sources. We demonstrate that the steady state solution of the considered model exists and is unique if the boundary values of the ion concentration and electric potential are given. This solution also proves to be the stable attractor of the time-dependent solutions with different initial value distributions.

Modeling of sedimentation and filtration layer formation by discrete element method
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 105-120Views (last year): 1. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The numerical model of sedimentation and suspension filtration is proposed in this paper. The model is based on dynamic variant of discrete element method. This model represents the particles behavior on microand meso-scales: pores, arches, flocks formation. In addition, the proposed model qualitatively reproduces macro phenomenon: sedimentation of particle layer, slow shrinkage of the layer, sealing of the layer under its own weight of the particles and the external applied force.

Influence of diffusion and convection on the chemostat dynamics
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 121-129Views (last year): 1.Population dynamics is considered in a modified chemostat model including diffusion, chemotaxis, and nonlocal competitive losses. To account for influence of the external environment on the population of the ecosystem, a random parameter is included into the model equations. Computer simulations reveal three dynamic modes depending on system parameters: the transition from initial state to a spatially homogeneous steady state, to a spatially inhomogeneous distribution of population density, and elimination of population density.

Probabilistic-statistical model of insurance capital
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 231-235The article reveals the necessity of introduction of new economic category such as “insurance capital”. Insurance activity generates a specific kind of capital (as a production factor) – the guarantee fund, which is called “primary insurance monetary capital". The article establishes that, due to its probabilistic and statistical nature, the insurance capital has a number of specific features in addition to conventional characteristics of capital as a production factor. Basing on probabilistic-statistical model author investigates the role of insurance capital in the formation of price for insurance services. In particular, the author exposes that the law of diminishing returns is not universal when talking about insurance capital.
