About quality of Kernel based object tracking
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 4, pp. 495-502

The kernel based object tracking algorithms were described that take in account the independent changes of the 4 and 5 out of 5 parameters of the elliptic tracking region. It is shown that in tracking this conditions are sufficient and attempts of prediction are not necessary.

Calculation of spatial distribution of differently oriented LEDs
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 4, pp. 577-584

New method for calculation of spatial light distribution of differently oriented LEDs is proposed. The main idea is combination of coordinate systems associated with these light sources. Unlike other conventional approaches, this method can be applied to the emitters with light distribution with arbitrary symmetry or without symmetry at all.

R/S method application in neurological speech disorders analyses
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 5, pp. 775-791

Based on modified rescaled range scale computation algorithm, the technique of Hurst exponent and its characteristic time estimation is proposed. The approach of increase the accuracy and simplification automatic Hurst exponent calculation is developed. The Hurst exponent and characteristic time is calculated for power time sets of speech signals with various motor pathologies (aphasias and dysarthrias). Results is statistically analyzed, the correlation between Hurst exponent and characteristic time is estimated.

Simple behavioral model of imprint formation
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 5, pp. 793-802

Formation of adequate behavioral patterns in condition of the unknown environment carried out through exploratory behavior. At the same time the rapid formation of an acceptable pattern is more preferable than a long elaboration perfect pattern through repeat play learning situation. In extreme situations, phenomenon of imprinting is observed — instant imprinting of behavior pattern, which ensure the survival of individuals. In this paper we propose a hypothesis and imprint model when trained on a single successful pattern of virtual robot's neural network demonstrates the effective functioning. Realism of the model is estimated by checking the stability of playback behavior pattern to perturbations situation imprint run.

Computer simulation for trimming exit temperature profile from low emission combustor
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 901-909

It is discussed peculiarities of forming gas temperature fields in gas turbine engine low emission combustors. It is shown the influence of burn-up rate on combustor outlet temperature and proposed recommendation for design the dilution system for the combustor.

Use of URANS approach for determination of temperature fluctuations when mixing triple-jet sodium at different temperatures
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 923-935

The possibility to study temperature fluctuations using URANS approach is studied. The results of numerical simulation of mixing processes for triple-jet sodium at different temperatures are presented. The processes were simulated using FlowVision software system and LMS model for turbulent heat transfer. The analysis and experiment data are compared. Validated was the possibility to determine the energy-carrying frequencies of temperature fluctuations using URANS approach and LMS model when mixing triple-jet sodium at different temperatures.

Exciton interaction of the chromophores — a tool to fine-tune the mechanism of non-photochemical quenching of phycobilisome in cyanobacteria
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 1, pp. 125-144

It was carried out a theoretical analysis of the energy migration rate in the process of non-photochemical quenching of fluorescence pigment-protein complex that performed by means of orange carotenoid-protein in the phycobilisomes of cyanobacteria. It is shown that the observed rate of energy transfer can not be interpreted in the framework of inductive-resonant mechanism of energy migration (Förster’s theory). On the contrary, according to the calculations the implementation of the exciton mechanism is fully consistent with the experimentally observed high quenching rate. An essential feature of the implementation of the exciton mechanism is to comply with a number of structural and functional conditions that require fine-tuning of the molecular system in the interaction of donor and acceptor molecules both each other and with the local molecular environment.

An efficient algorithm for ${\mathrm{\LaTeX}}$ documents comparing
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 2, pp. 329-345

The problem is constructing the differences that arise on ${\mathrm{\LaTeX}}$ documents editing. Each document is represented as a parse tree whose nodes are called tokens. The smallest possible text representation of the document that does not change the syntax tree is constructed. All of the text is splitted into fragments whose boundaries correspond to tokens. A map of the initial text fragment sequence to the similar sequence of the edited document corresponding to the minimum distance is built with Hirschberg algorithm A map of text characters corresponding to the text fragment sequences map is cunstructed. Tokens, that chars are all deleted, or all inserted, or all not changed, are selected in the parse trees. The map for the trees formed with other tokens is built using Zhang–Shasha algorithm.

JINR TIER-1-level computing system for the CMS experiment at LHC: status and perspectives
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 455-462

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) is a high-performance general-purpose detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. A distributed data analysis system for processing and further analysis of CMS experimental data has been developed and this model foresees the obligatory usage of modern grid-technologies. The CMS Computing Model makes use of the hierarchy of computing centers (Tiers). The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) takes an active part in the CMS experiment. In order to provide a proper computing infrastructure for the CMS experiment at JINR and for Russian institutes collaborating in CMS, Tier-1 center for the CMS experiment is constructing at JINR. The main tasks and services of the CMS Tier-1 at JINR are described. The status and perspectives of the Tier1 center for the CMS experiment at JINR are presented.

Efficient processing and classification of wave energy spectrum data with a distributed pipeline
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 517-520

Processing of large amounts of data often consists of several steps, e.g. pre- and post-processing stages, which are executed sequentially with data written to disk after each step, however, when pre-processing stage for each task is different the more efficient way of processing data is to construct a pipeline which streams data from one stage to another. In a more general case some processing stages can be factored into several parallel subordinate stages thus forming a distributed pipeline where each stage can have multiple inputs and multiple outputs. Such processing pattern emerges in a problem of classification of wave energy spectra based on analytic approximations which can extract different wave systems and their parameters (e.g. wave system type, mean wave direction) from spectrum. Distributed pipeline approach achieves good performance compared to conventional “sequential-stage” processing.
