Mathematical modelling of the magnetic system by A. N. Tikhonov regularization method
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 165-175In this paper the problem of searching for the design of the magnetic system for creation a magnetic field with the required characteristics in the given area is solved. On the basis of analysis of the mathematical model of the magnetic system rather a general approach is proposed to the solving of the inverse problem, which is written by the Fredgolm equation H(z) = ∫SIJ(s)G(z, s)ds, z ∈ S H, s ∈ S I . It was necessary to define the current density distribution function J(s) and the existing winding geometry for creation of a required magnetic field H(z). In the paper a method of solving those by means of regularized iterative processes is proposed. On the base of the concrete magnetic system we perform the numerical study of influence of different factors on the character of the magnetic field being designed.

On one resolvent method for integrating the low angle trajectories of a heavy point projectile motion under quadratic air resistance
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 3, pp. 265-277Views (last year): 1. Citations: 6 (RSCI).New key parameters, namely b0 = tgθ0, θ0 — angle of throwing, Ra — top curvature radius and β0 — dimensionless speed square on the top of low angular trajectory were suggested in classic problem of integrating nonlinear equations of point mass projectile motion with quadratic air drag. Very precise formulae were obtained in a new way for coordinates x(b), y(b) and fly time t(b), b = tgθ where θ is inclination angle. This method is based on Legendre transformation and its precision is automatically improved in wide range of the θ0 values and drag force parameters α. The precision was monitored by Maple computing product.

Numerical study of traffic flows by the hydrodynamic models
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 4, pp. 389-412Views (last year): 7. Citations: 7 (RSCI).The purpose of this paper is to generalize the macroscopic hydrodynamic vehicular traffic models by using the algorithm for constructing the adequate state equation — dependence the pressure from traffic density by taking into account the real experimental data (possibly using the parametric solutions for model equations). It is proved that this kind of state equation which closed model equations system and obtained from the experimentally observed form of the fundamental diagram — dependence the traffic intensity from its density, completely determines the all properties of the used phenomenological model.

Local estimations of Monte Carlo method with the object spectral representation in the solution of global illumination
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 75-84Citations: 2 (RSCI).The article deals with the local and double local estimation of the Monte Carlo method for solving the equation of global illumination. The local estimation allows calculating the illumination at any point at the approximation of diffuse reflection, whereas the double local estimation allows calculating directly the luminance at a given point in a given direction. The article presents the mathematical basis of local estimations and the basic stages of the software implementation. The representation of three-dimensional objects in the basis of spherical functions and the possibility of using them in the local estimations are also considered.

On the efficiency of the maximum cross section method in radiation transport theory
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 573-582Views (last year): 4. Citations: 2 (RSCI).We consider two versions of the maximum cross section method for the solutions of the stationary equation of radiative transfer in dimensional inhomogeneous medium. Both are based on the application Monte-Carlo method to the summation of the Neumann series for the solution transport equation. First modification is traditional and second is based on the use of branching Markov chains. We carried out numerical comparison of these algorithms.

Control of the dynamics of the kink of the modified sine-Gordon equation by the external exposure with varying parameters
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 5, pp. 821-834Views (last year): 2. Citations: 4 (RSCI).The paper presents results that confirm the ability to control the movement of the kink of the modified sine-Gordon equation with variable external force parameters. Three types of external influences have been considered: permanent action, periodic action with a constant frequency and a frequency-modulated periodic exposure. The dependences of the position and velocity of the kink on time for various values of the parameters of external influence were obtained using the method of McLaughlin and Scott. It is shown that by changing the settings, one can adjust the velocity and direction of movement of the kink.

Parallel implementation of a finite-element algorithms on a graphics accelerator in the software package FEStudio
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 79-97Views (last year): 4. Citations: 24 (RSCI).In this paper, we present new parallel algorithms for finite element analysis implemented in the FEStudio software framework. We describe the programming model of finite element method, which supports parallelism on different stages of numerical simulations. Using this model, we develop parallel algorithms of numerical integration for dynamic problems and local stiffness matrices. For constructing and solving the systems of equations, we use the CUDA programming platform.

Numerical investigation of photoexcited polaron states in water
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 2, pp. 253-261Citations: 1 (RSCI).A method and a complex of computer programs are developed for the numerical simulation of the polaron states excitation process in condensed media. A numerical study of the polaron states formation in water under the action of the ultraviolet range laser irradiation is carried out. Our approach allows to reproduce the experimental data of the hydrated electrons formation. A numerical scheme is presented for the solution of the respective system of nonlinear partial differential equations. Parallel implementation is based on the MPI technique. The numerical results are given in comparison with the experimental data and theoretical estimations.

Modeling separated flow with use of two-equation turbulence model
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 1, pp. 79-88Views (last year): 4. Citations: 7 (RSCI).The article provides a development of recently published turbulence model KEFV. The submitted version of this model allows modeling transition in a separated flow. The model includes an adjustable mechanism for specifying generation of turbulence in laminar zones with high velocity gradients. The model is implemented in the FlowVision CFD software. Simulation of the air flow around low-Reynolds airfoil Eppler-387 is discussed in the article. The flow conditions are characterized by the Reynolds number Re = 200 000.

Discrete Models in Population Dynamics: Advantages, Problems, and Justification
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 2, pp. 267-284Views (last year): 6. Citations: 6 (RSCI).This article is dedicated to applicability justification as well as advantages and disadvantages analysis of discrete models in population dynamics. Discretization is the process of transferring continuous functions, models, and equations into discrete counterparts. We consider how temporal, spatial and structural discretization can be applied for solving typical issues in mathematical ecology, and try to estimate corresponding models adequacy and applicability limitations.
