    Computer research of the holomorphic dynamics of exponential and linear-exponential maps
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 4, pp. 383-405

    The work belongs to the direction of experimental mathematics, which investigates the properties of mathematical objects by the computing facilities of a computer. The base is an exponential map, its topological properties (Cantor's bouquets) differ from properties of polynomial and rational complex-valued functions. The subject of the study are the character and features of the Fatou and Julia sets, as well as the equilibrium points and orbits of the zero of three iterated complex-valued mappings: $f:z \to (1+ \mu) \exp (iz)$, $g : z \to \big(1+ \mu |z - z^*|\big) \exp (iz)$, $h : z \to \big(1+ \mu (z - z^* )\big) \exp (iz)$, with $z,\mu \in \mathbb{C}$, $z^* : \exp (iz^*) = z^*$. For a quasilinear map g having no analyticity characteristic, two bifurcation transitions were discovered: the creation of a new equilibrium point (for which the critical value of the linear parameter was found and the bifurcation consists of “fork” type and “saddle”-node transition) and the transition to the radical transformation of the Fatou set. A nontrivial character of convergence to a fixed point is revealed, which is associated with the appearance of “valleys” on the graph of convergence rates. For two other maps, the monoperiodicity of regimes is significant, the phenomenon of “period doubling” is noted (in one case along the path $39\to 3$, in the other along the path $17\to 2$), and the coincidence of the period multiplicity and the number of sleeves of the Julia spiral in a neighborhood of a fixed point is found. A rich illustrative material, numerical results of experiments and summary tables reflecting the parametric dependence of maps are given. Some questions are formulated in the paper for further research using traditional mathematics methods.

    Experimental study of the dynamics of single and connected in a lattice complex-valued mappings: the architecture and interface of author’s software for modeling
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 6, pp. 1101-1124

    The paper describes a free software for research in the field of holomorphic dynamics based on the computational capabilities of the MATLAB environment. The software allows constructing not only single complex-valued mappings, but also their collectives as linearly connected, on a square or hexagonal lattice. In the first case, analogs of the Julia set (in the form of escaping points with color indication of the escape velocity), Fatou (with chaotic dynamics highlighting), and the Mandelbrot set generated by one of two free parameters are constructed. In the second case, only the dynamics of a cellular automaton with a complex-valued state of the cells and of all the coefficients in the local transition function is considered. The abstract nature of object-oriented programming makes it possible to combine both types of calculations within a single program that describes the iterated dynamics of one object.

    The presented software provides a set of options for the field shape, initial conditions, neighborhood template, and boundary cells neighborhood features. The mapping display type can be specified by a regular expression for the MATLAB interpreter. This paper provides some UML diagrams, a short introduction to the user interface, and some examples.

    The following cases are considered as example illustrations containing new scientific knowledge:

    1) a linear fractional mapping in the form $Az^{n} +B/z^{n} $, for which the cases $n=2$, $4$, $n>1$, are known. In the portrait of the Fatou set, attention is drawn to the characteristic (for the classical quadratic mapping) figures of <>, showing short-period regimes, components of conventionally chaotic dynamics in the sea;

    2) for the Mandelbrot set with a non-standard position of the parameter in the exponent $z(t+1)\Leftarrow z(t)^{\mu } $ sketch calculations reveal some jagged structures and point clouds resembling Cantor's dust, which are not Cantor's bouquets that are characteristic for exponential mapping. Further detailing of these objects with complex topology is required.

    Numerical investigation of coherent and turbulent structures of light via nonlinear integral mappings
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 5, pp. 979-992

    The propagation of stable coherent entities of an electromagnetic field in nonlinear media with parameters varying in space can be described in the framework of iterations of nonlinear integral transformations. It is shown that for a set of geometries relevant to typical problems of nonlinear optics, numerical modeling by reducing to dynamical systems with discrete time and continuous spatial variables to iterates of local nonlinear Feigenbaum and Ikeda mappings and nonlocal diffusion-dispersion linear integral transforms is equivalent to partial differential equations of the Ginzburg–Landau type in a fairly wide range of parameters. Such nonlocal mappings, which are the products of matrix operators in the numerical implementation, turn out to be stable numerical- difference schemes, provide fast convergence and an adequate approximation of solutions. The realism of this approach allows one to take into account the effect of noise on nonlinear dynamics by superimposing a spatial noise specified in the form of a multimode random process at each iteration and selecting the stable wave configurations. The nonlinear wave formations described by this method include optical phase singularities, spatial solitons, and turbulent states with fast decay of correlations. The particular interest is in the periodic configurations of the electromagnetic field obtained by this numerical method that arise as a result of phase synchronization, such as optical lattices and self-organized vortex clusters.

    Modified Gauss–Newton method for solving a smooth system of nonlinear equations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 4, pp. 697-723

    In this paper, we introduce a new version of Gauss–Newton method for solving a system of nonlinear equations based on ideas of the residual upper bound for a system of nonlinear equations and a quadratic regularization term. The introduced Gauss–Newton method in practice virtually forms the whole parameterized family of the methods solving systems of nonlinear equations and regression problems. The developed family of Gauss–Newton methods completely consists of iterative methods with generalization for cases of non-euclidean normed spaces, including special forms of Levenberg–Marquardt algorithms. The developed methods use the local model based on a parameterized proximal mapping allowing us to use an inexact oracle of «black–box» form with restrictions for the computational precision and computational complexity. We perform an efficiency analysis including global and local convergence for the developed family of methods with an arbitrary oracle in terms of iteration complexity, precision and complexity of both local model and oracle, problem dimensionality. We present global sublinear convergence rates for methods of the proposed family for solving a system of nonlinear equations, consisting of Lipschitz smooth functions. We prove local superlinear convergence under extra natural non-degeneracy assumptions for system of nonlinear functions. We prove both local and global linear convergence for a system of nonlinear equations under Polyak–Lojasiewicz condition for proposed Gauss– Newton methods. Besides theoretical justifications of methods we also consider practical implementation issues. In particular, for conducted experiments we present effective computational schemes for the exact oracle regarding to the dimensionality of a problem. The proposed family of methods unites several existing and frequent in practice Gauss–Newton method modifications, allowing us to construct a flexible and convenient method implementable using standard convex optimization and computational linear algebra techniques.

    Numerical modeling of ecologic situation of the Azov Sea with using schemes of increased order of accuracy on multiprocessor computer system
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 1, pp. 151-168

    The article covered results of three-dimensional modeling of ecologic situation of shallow water on the example of the Azov Sea with using schemes of increased order of accuracy on multiprocessor computer system of Southern Federal University. Discrete analogs of convective and diffusive transfer operators of the fourth order of accuracy in the case of partial occupancy of cells were constructed and studied. The developed scheme of the high (fourth) order of accuracy were used for solving problems of aquatic ecology and modeling spatial distribution of polluting nutrients, which caused growth of phytoplankton, many species of which are toxic and harmful. The use of schemes of the high order of accuracy are improved the quality of input data and decreased the error in solutions of model tasks of aquatic ecology. Numerical experiments were conducted for the problem of transportation of substances on the basis of the schemes of the second and fourth orders of accuracy. They’re showed that the accuracy was increased in 48.7 times for diffusion-convection problem. The mathematical algorithm was proposed and numerically implemented, which designed to restore the bottom topography of shallow water on the basis of hydrographic data (water depth at individual points or contour level). The map of bottom relief of the Azov Sea was generated with using this algorithm. It’s used to build fields of currents calculated on the basis of hydrodynamic model. The fields of water flow currents were used as input data of the aquatic ecology models. The library of double-layered iterative methods was developed for solving of nine-diagonal difference equations. It occurs in discretization of model tasks of challenges of pollutants concentration, plankton and fish on multiprocessor computer system. It improved the precision of the calculated data and gave the possibility to obtain operational forecasts of changes in ecologic situation of shallow water in short time intervals.
