High Performance Computing for Blood Modeling
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 917-941Views (last year): 2. Citations: 3 (RSCI).Methods for modeling blood flow and its rheological properties are reviewed. Blood is considered as a particle suspencion. The methods are boundary integral equation method (BIEM), lattice Boltzmann (LBM), finite elements on dynamic mesh, dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) and agent based modeling. The analysis of these methods’ applications on high-performance systems with various architectures is presented.

Galerkin–Petrov method for one-dimensional parabolic equations of higher order in domain with a moving boundary
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 1, pp. 3-10Views (last year): 2.In the current paper, we study a Galerkin–Petrov method for a parabolic equations of higher order in domain with a moving boundary. Asymptotic estimates for the convergence rate of approximate solutions are obtained.

Construction and investigation of continuous cellular automatа model of heat conductivity processes with first order phase transitions
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 141-152Views (last year): 2. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The process of heat conduction, accompanied by the first order phase transitions is discussed in this article. Using cellular automates simulation was investigated class of problems that have broad application in practice. In this paper we calculate the temperature distribution in the depth of the soil at different times for a problem of freezing of moist soil. Another task — zone growing — has been modeled by cellular automates too. The coincidence of real and modeling parameters of the system confirms the feasibility of using the selected method of modeling of physical processes.

Comparative analysis of optimization methods for electrical energy losses interval evaluation problem
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 231-239Views (last year): 2. Citations: 1 (RSCI).This article is dedicated to a comparison analysis of optimization methods, in order to perform an interval estimation of electrical energy technical losses in distribution networks of voltage 6–20 kV. The issue of interval evaluation is represented as a multi-dimensional conditional minimization/maximization problem with implicit target function. A number of numerical optimization methods of first and zero orders is observed, with the aim of determining the most suitable for the problem of interest. The desired algorithm is BOBYQA, in which the target function is replaced with its quadratic approximation in some trusted region.

Searching for connections between biological and physico-chemical characteristics of Rybinsk reservoir ecosystem. Part 2. Determination analysis
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 271-292Views (last year): 2. Citations: 3 (RSCI).Based on contents of phytoplankton pigments, fluorescence samples and some physico-chemical characteristics of the Rybinsk reservoir waters, searching for connections between biological and physicalchemical characteristics is working out. The methods of describing of connections between qualitative classes of characteristics, based on forecast of quality values of one characteristics by quality values of another one, are studied. The borders of quality classes of studied characteristics are found.

Approach to development of algorithms of Newtonian methods of unconstrained optimization, their software implementation and benchmarking
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 367-377Views (last year): 2. Citations: 7 (RSCI).The approach to increase efficiency of Gill and Murray's algorithm of Newtonian methods of unconstrained optimization with step adjustment creation is offered, rests on Cholesky’s factorization. It is proved that the strategy of choice of the descent direction also determines the solution of the problem of scaling of steps at descent, and approximation by non-quadratic functions, and integration with a method of a confidential vicinity.

Criteria and convergence of the focal approxmation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 379-394Methods of the solution of a problem of focal approximation — approach on point-by-point given smooth closed empirical curve by multifocal lemniscates are investigated. Criteria and convergence of the developed approached methods with use of the description, both in real, and in complex variables are analyzed. Topological equivalence of the used criteria is proved.

Fractal spline as a model of fractal functions for fractal signals generation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 583-587Views (last year): 2.This paper presents a method for obtaining fractal signals using fractal splines similar to signals generated by fractal functions. The hypothesis about the identity of discrete fractal functions and linear fractal splines is justified. There are considered the features of planning matrix calculation of cumulative fractal spline, examples of generated curves are shown.
