Motion control of a rigid body in viscous fluid
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 659-675Views (last year): 2. Citations: 1 (RSCI).We consider the optimal motion control problem for a mobile device with an external rigid shell moving along a prescribed trajectory in a viscous fluid. The mobile robot under consideration possesses the property of self-locomotion. Self-locomotion is implemented due to back-and-forth motion of an internal material point. The optimal motion control is based on the Sugeno fuzzy inference system. An approach based on constructing decision trees using the genetic algorithm for structural and parametric synthesis has been proposed to obtain the base of fuzzy rules.

Homology modeling of the spatial structure of HydSL hydrogenase from purple sulphur bacterium Thiocapsa roseopersicina BBS
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 737-747Views (last year): 2. Citations: 5 (RSCI).The results of homology modeling of HydSL, a NiFe-hydrogenase from purple sulphur bacterium Thiocapsa roseopersicina BBS are presented in this work. It is shown that the models have larger confidence level than earlier published ones; a full-size model of HydSL hydrogenase is presented for the first time. The C-end fragment of the enzyme is shown to have random orientation in relation to the main protein globule. The obtain models have a large number of ion pairs, as well as thermostable HydSL hydrogenase from Allochromatium vinosum, in contrast to thermolabile HydAB hydrogenase from Desulfovibrio vulgaris.

Control of the dynamics of the kink of the modified sine-Gordon equation by the external exposure with varying parameters
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 5, pp. 821-834Views (last year): 2. Citations: 4 (RSCI).The paper presents results that confirm the ability to control the movement of the kink of the modified sine-Gordon equation with variable external force parameters. Three types of external influences have been considered: permanent action, periodic action with a constant frequency and a frequency-modulated periodic exposure. The dependences of the position and velocity of the kink on time for various values of the parameters of external influence were obtained using the method of McLaughlin and Scott. It is shown that by changing the settings, one can adjust the velocity and direction of movement of the kink.

Fluorescent probe immobilization into enzyme molecules
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 5, pp. 835-843Views (last year): 2. Citations: 3 (RSCI).The results of the experimental and theoretical researches of kinetics of erythrosine penetration into collagenase molecules have represented in this paper. The case with introduction of the compound (fluorescent probe) which has dimers to enzyme solution as an injection has been considered. It was shown that monomers and dimers can penetrate into enzyme molecules with formation complexes monomer — enzyme, dimer- enzyme. Moreover, transformation of probe fluorescence spectra is at each time moment. Spectrum maximum shift, and its form change. At a time, the immobilized dye dimers greatly impact to formation of end fluorescence spectrum. Well correlation between experimental and theoretical results confirms reality of the obtained data.

The Earth attack from space — the chronicle of centure
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 6, pp. 907-916Views (last year): 2. Citations: 8 (RSCI).Relevance of the problem of asteroid and comet impact hazard is considered. The short list of falling of space bodies to the Earth and their flights about it on distances, smaller distances to the Moon, for the last 100 years is carried out. The question about development of the federal research program on space protection of our planet and its integration into the international program is raised.

Computational modeling of a meteor entering atmosphere dense layers using elastoplastic approximation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 6, pp. 957-967Views (last year): 2. Citations: 3 (RSCI).The article contains results of modeling a meteor entering dense atmosphere layers using Galerkin’s method and smoother particle hydrodynamics. Numerical simulations were run using experimental data gathered for the Chelyabinsk meteor while varying the meteor material characteristics and its orientation when entering the atmosphere.

Conditions of Rice statistical model applicability and estimation of the Rician signal’s parameters by maximum likelihood technique
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 13-25Views (last year): 2. Citations: 4 (RSCI).The paper develops a theory of a new so-called two-parametric approach to the random signals' analysis and processing. A mathematical simulation and the task solutions’ comparison have been implemented for the Gauss and Rice statistical models. The applicability of the Rice statistical model is substantiated for the tasks of data and images processing when the signal’s envelope is being analyzed. A technique is developed and theoretically substantiated for solving the task of the noise suppression and initial image reconstruction by means of joint calculation of both statistical parameters — an initial signal’s mean value and noise dispersion — based on the maximum likelihood method within the Rice distribution. The peculiarities of this distribution’s likelihood function and the following from them possibilities of the signal and noise estimation have been analyzed.

A New Method For Point Estimating Parameters Of Simple Regression
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 57-77Views (last year): 2. Citations: 4 (RSCI).A new method is described for finding parameters of univariate regression model: the greatest cosine method. Implementation of the method involves division of regression model parameters into two groups. The first group of parameters responsible for the angle between the experimental data vector and the regression model vector are defined by the maximum of the cosine of the angle between these vectors. The second group includes the scale factor. It is determined by means of “straightening” the relationship between the experimental data vector and the regression model vector. The interrelation of the greatest cosine method with the method of least squares is examined. Efficiency of the method is illustrated by examples.

Double layer interval weighted graphs in assessing the market risks
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 159-166Views (last year): 2. Citations: 1 (RSCI).This scientific work is dedicated to applying of two-layer interval weighted graphs in nonstationary time series forecasting and evaluation of market risks. The first layer of the graph, formed with the primary system training, displays potential system fluctuations at the time of system training. Interval vertexes of the second layer of the graph (the superstructure of the first layer) which display the degree of time series modeling error are connected with the first layer by edges. The proposed model has been approved by the 90-day forecast of steel billets. The average forecast error amounts 2,6 % (it’s less than the average forecast error of the autoregression models).

Analysis of socio-informational influence through the examples of US wars in Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 167-184Views (last year): 2. Citations: 3 (RSCI).In the first section of the paper a definition of presentation (perception) functions — components of individual’s subjective view of the world — are proposed. Using the basic psychophysical law formulated by S. Stevens, and relying on the hypotheses of socialization, rationality, individual choice, complexity of informational influences, dynamics of ideas and perceptions, and accessibility, formal dependence was derived allowing to calculate the function of presentation (perception) for probabilistic indicators (with known distribution function or subjective probability) and of interval type. In the second and third sections parameters of the presentation function according to surveys of the U.S. population related to the war in Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq are estimated.
