Reduced model of photosystem II and its use to evaluate the photosynthetic apparatus characteristics according to the fluorescence induction curves
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 943-958Views (last year): 3. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The approach for the analysis of some large-scale biological systems, on the base of quasiequilibrium stages is proposed. The approach allows us to reduce the detailed large-scaled models and obtain the simplified model with an analytical solution. This makes it possible to reproduce the experimental curves with a good accuracy. This approach has been applied to a detailed model of the primary processes of photosynthesis in the reaction center of photosystem II. The resulting simplified model of photosystem II describes the experimental fluorescence induction curves for higher and lower plants, obtained under different light intensities. Derived relationships between variables and parameters of detailed and simplified models, allow us to use parameters of simplified model to describe the dynamics of various states of photosystem II detailed model.

Combination of different simulation techniques in the complex model of photosynthetic membrane
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 1, pp. 65-81Complex geometric organization of subcellular structures such as photosynthetic or mitochondrial membranes determines mechanism of electron and proton transfer processes. We propose new approach in modeling processes, where geometric shape of membranes is accurately taken into account. Different stages of charge transfer process are simulated using different approaches, which are integrated into a combined model. We implemented this model as software which utilizes parallel computations on high-performance clusters and GPUs for better performance.

Construction and investigation of continuous cellular automatа model of heat conductivity processes with first order phase transitions
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 141-152Views (last year): 2. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The process of heat conduction, accompanied by the first order phase transitions is discussed in this article. Using cellular automates simulation was investigated class of problems that have broad application in practice. In this paper we calculate the temperature distribution in the depth of the soil at different times for a problem of freezing of moist soil. Another task — zone growing — has been modeled by cellular automates too. The coincidence of real and modeling parameters of the system confirms the feasibility of using the selected method of modeling of physical processes.

Ultimate load theorems for rigid plastic solids with internal degrees of freedom and their application in continual lattice shells
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 423-432Citations: 2 (RSCI).This paper studies solids with internal degrees of freedom using the method of Cartan moving hedron. Strain compatibility conditions are derived in the form of structure equations for manifolds. Constitutive relations are reviewed and ultimate load theorems are proved for rigid plastic solids with internal degrees of freedom. It is demonstrated how the above theorems can be applied in behavior analysis of rigid plastic continual shells of shape memory materials. The ultimate loads are estimated for rotating shells under external forces and in case of shape recovery from heating.

Research of deformation behavior of bone fragment at an axial compression, containing compact and spongy layers of different density
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 433-441Views (last year): 3. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The results of computer simulation of deformation behavior of bone fragment at axial compression, containing compact and spongy layers of different density, are presented. The result of calculations show that changing of prevailing type of deformation of compression of bone sample on deformation of bend and vice versa is possible at densities change of his spongy constituent and compact constituent

Model method of vertical chlorophyll concentration reconstruction from satellite data
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 473-482Views (last year): 5. Citations: 2 (RSCI).A model, describing the influence of external factors on temporal evolution of phytoplankton distribution in a horizontally-homogenous water layer, is presented. This model is based upon the reactiondiffusion equation and takes into account the main factors of influence: mineral nutrients, insolation and temperature. The mineral nutrients and insolation act oppositely on spatial phytoplankton distribution. The results of numerical modeling are presented and the prospect of applying this model to reconstruction of phytoplankton distribution from sea-surface satellite data is discussed. The model was used to estimate the chlorophyll content of the Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan).

Modeling of evacuation of people of various age groups
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 483-490Views (last year): 2. Citations: 2 (RSCI).The program for an assessment of an estimated time of evacuation with possibility of a choice of age group of people is offered and tested. Influence of age structure of groups of people on results of calculation is investigated.

A universal method for constructing the simulation model of complex multi-agent systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 513-523Views (last year): 5. Citations: 2 (RSCI).This paper presents a universal method for constructing an agent-based model of complex systems for their further clear computer representation by means of object-oriented programming languages. The method specifies both steps of model developing from the mathematical description of the system to the determined architecture of the program simulating the system. The efficiency of the method is illustrated by the construction of the two simulation models for the complex systems of various origins: the interactive simulation of the stock exchange and space-time simulation of biological species competition.

Using collective of agents for exploration of graph
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 525-532Problem of exploration finite undirected graphs by a collective of agents is considered in this work. Two agents-researchers simultaneously move on graph, they read and change marks of graph elements, transfer the information to the agent-experimenter (it builds explored graph representation). It was constructed an algorithm linear (from amount of the graph’s nodes) time complexity, quadratic space complexity and communication complexity, that is equal to O(n2·log(n)). Two agents (which move on graph) need two different colors (in total three colors) for graph exploration. An algorithm is based on depth-first traversal method.

Analysis of stochastically forced equilibria and noise-induced transitions in nonlinear discrete systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 559-571Views (last year): 1. Citations: 2 (RSCI).Stochastically forced discrete dynamical systems are considered. Using first approximation systems, we study dynamics of deviations of stochastic solutions from deterministic equilibria. Necessary and sufficient conditions of the existence of stable stationary solutions of equations for mean-square deviations are derived. Stationary values of these mean-square deviations are used for the estimations of the dispersion of random states nearby stable equilibria and analysis of noise-induced transitions. Constructive application of the suggested technique to the analysis of various stochastic regimes in Ricker population model with Allee effect is demonstrated.
