  1. In the last decades, universal scenarios of the transition to chaos in dynamic systems have been well studied. The scenario of the transition to chaos is defined as a sequence of bifurcations that occur in the system under the variation one of the governing parameters and lead to a qualitative change in dynamics, starting from the regular mode and ending with chaotic behavior. Typical scenarios include a cascade of period doubling bifurcations (Feigenbaum scenario), the breakup of a low-dimensional torus (Ruelle–Takens scenario), and the transition to chaos through the intermittency (Pomeau–Manneville scenario). In more complicated spatially distributed dynamic systems, the complexity of dynamic behavior growing with a parameter change is closely intertwined with the formation of spatial structures. However, the question of whether the spatial and temporal axes could completely exchange roles in some scenario still remains open. In this paper, for the first time, we propose a mathematical model of convection–diffusion–reaction, in which a spatial transition to chaos through the breakup of the quasi–periodic regime is realized in the framework of the Ruelle–Takens scenario. The physical system under consideration consists of two aqueous solutions of acid (A) and base (B), initially separated in space and placed in a vertically oriented Hele–Shaw cell subject to the gravity field. When the solutions are brought into contact, the frontal neutralization reaction of the second order A + B $\to$ C begins, which is accompanied by the production of salt (C). The process is characterized by a strong dependence of the diffusion coefficients of the reagents on their concentration, which leads to the appearance of two local zones of reduced density, in which chemoconvective fluid motions develop independently. Although the layers, in which convection develops, all the time remain separated by the interlayer of motionless fluid, they can influence each other via a diffusion of reagents through this interlayer. The emerging chemoconvective structure is the modulated standing wave that gradually breaks down over time, repeating the sequence of the bifurcation chain of the Ruelle–Takens scenario. We show that during the evolution of the system one of the spatial axes, directed along the reaction front, plays the role of time, and time itself starts to play the role of a control parameter.

Procedure for constructing of explicit, implicit and symmetric simplectic schemes for numerical solving of Hamiltonian systems of equations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 6, pp. 861-871

Equations of motion in Newtonian and Hamiltonian forms are used for classical molecular dynamics simulation of particle system time evolution. When Newton equations of motion are used for finding of particle coordinates and velocities in $N$-particle system it takes to solve $3N$ ordinary differential equations of second order at every time step. Traditionally numerical schemes of Verlet method are used for solving Newtonian equations of motion of molecular dynamics. A step of integration is necessary to decrease for Verlet numerical schemes steadiness conservation on sufficiently large time intervals. It leads to a significant increase of the volume of calculations. Numerical schemes of Verlet method with Hamiltonian conservation control (the energy of the system) at every time moment are used in the most software packages of molecular dynamics for numerical integration of equations of motion. It can be used two complement each other approaches to decrease of computational time in molecular dynamics calculations. The first of these approaches is based on enhancement and software optimization of existing software packages of molecular dynamics by using of vectorization, parallelization and special processor construction. The second one is based on the elaboration of efficient methods for numerical integration for equations of motion. A procedure for constructing of explicit, implicit and symmetric symplectic numerical schemes with given approximation accuracy in relation to integration step for solving of molecular dynamic equations of motion in Hamiltonian form is proposed in this work. The approach for construction of proposed in this work procedure is based on the following points: Hamiltonian formulation of equations of motion; usage of Taylor expansion of exact solution; usage of generating functions, for geometrical properties of exact solution conservation, in derivation of numerical schemes. Numerical experiments show that obtained in this work symmetric symplectic third-order accuracy scheme conserves basic properties of the exact solution in the approximate solution. It is more stable for approximation step and conserves Hamiltonian of the system with more accuracy at a large integration interval then second order Verlet numerical schemes.

Modeling the structure of a complex system based on estimation of the measure of interaction of subsystems
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 4, pp. 707-719

The using of determining the measure of interaction between channels when choosing the configuration structure of a control system for complex dynamic objects is considered in the work. The main methods for determining the measure of interaction between subsystems of complex control systems based on the methods RGA (Relative Gain Array), Dynamic RGA, HIIA (Hankel Interaction Index Array), PM (Participation matrix) are presented. When choosing a control configuration, simple configurations are preferable, as they are simple in design, maintenance and more resistant to failures. However, complex configurations provide higher performance control systems. Processes in large dynamic objects are characterized by a high degree of interaction between process variables. For the design of the control structure interaction measures are used, namely, the selection of the control structure and the decision on the configuration of the controller. The choice of control structure is to determine which dynamic connections should be used to design the controller. When a structure is selected, connections can be used to configure the controller. For large systems, it is proposed to pre-group the components of the vectors of input and output signals of the actuators and sensitive elements into sets in which the number of variables decreases significantly in order to select a control structure. A quantitative estimation of the decentralization of the control system based on minimizing the sum of the off-diagonal elements of the PM matrix is given. An example of estimation the measure of interaction between components of strong coupled subsystems and the measure of interaction between components of weak coupled subsystems is given. A quantitative estimation is given of neglecting the interaction of components of weak coupled subsystems. The construction of a weighted graph for visualizing the interaction of the subsystems of a complex system is considered. A method for the formation of the controllability gramian on the vector of output signals that is invariant to state vector transformations is proposed in the paper. An example of the decomposition of the stabilization system of the components of the flying vehicle angular velocity vector is given. The estimation of measures of the mutual influence of processes in the channels of control systems makes it possible to increase the reliability of the systems when accounting for the use of analytical redundancy of information from various devices, which reduces the mass and energy consumption. Methods for assessing measures of the interaction of processes in subsystems of control systems can be used in the design of complex systems, for example, motion control systems, orientation and stabilization systems of vehicles.

    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 4, pp. 371-381

Statement of a problem of management of movement of a body in a viscous liquid is given. Movement bodies it is induced by moving of internal material points. On a basis the numerical decision of the equations of movement of a body and the hydrodynamic equations approximating dependencies for viscous forces are received. With application approximations the problem of optimum control of body movement dares on the set trajectory with application of hybrid genetic algorithm. Possibility of the directed movement of a body under action is established back and forth motion of an internal point. Optimum control movement direction it is carried out by motion of other internal point on circular trajectory with variable speed.

  6. The article discusses the model of the anthropomorphic type of mechanism of the exoskeleton with links of variable length. Four models of parts of variable length are considered comprehensively: the model link of the exoskeleton of variable length with a resilient member and a rigid strong core; the model of the telescopic link; the model link with the masses in the hinge-joint between them; the link model with an arbitrary number of masses. The differential equations of motion in the form of Lagrange equations of the second kind are made. On the basis of analysis of differential equations of motion for multi-link rod of a mechanical system type, exoskeleton revealed their structure, which allowed us to represent them in vector-matrix form. The General pattern of building matrices are established for the first time and the generalization of the expressions for elements of matrices in two-dimensional case are obtained. New recursive and matrix methods of composing of differential equations of motion are given. A unified approach to constructing differential equations of motion of the exoskeleton based on the developed recursive and matrix methods write differential equations of motion of the proposed exoskeleton. Comparison of the time of writing the differential equations of motion proposed methods, in comparison with the Lagrange equations of the second kind, in the system of computer mathematics Mathematica conducted. An analytical study of the model of the exoskeleton carried out. It was found that for mechanisms with n movable links of the Cauchy problem for systems of differential equations of motion for any initial conditions there is no single and unlimited continue. Control of the exoskeleton is accomplished using the torques which are located in the hinge-joints in the joints of the links and simulating control actions. Numerical investigation of a model of the exoskeleton is made, a comparison of results of calculations for exoskeletons with various models of units is held. A numerical study of the empirical evidence about the man and his movements is used. It is established that the choice structure of the exoskeleton model with lumped masses is more preferable to a model with perfectly rigid strong core. As an exoskeleton, providing comfortable movement of people, and you should repeat the properties of the musculoskeletal system.

Mathematical simulation of vortex motion in the astrophysical objects on the basis of the gas-dynamic model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 5, pp. 631-643

The application of a conservative numerical method of fluxes is examined for studying the vortex structures in the massive, fast-turned compact astrophysical objects, which are in self-gravity conditions. The simulation is accomplished for the objects with different mass and rotational speed. The pictures of the vortex structure of objects are visualized. In the calculations the gas-dynamic model is used, in which gas is accepted perfected and nonviscous. Numerical procedure is based on the finite-difference approximation of the conservation laws of the additive characteristics of medium for the finite volume. The “upwind” approximations of the densities of distribution of mass, components of momentum and total energy are applied. For the simulation of the objects, which possess fast-spin motion, the control of conservation for the component of moment of momentun is carried out during calculation. Evolutionary calculation is carried out on the basis of the parallel algorithms, realized on the computer complex of cluster architecture. Algorithms are based on the standardized system of message transfer Message Passing Interface (MPI). The blocking procedures of exchange and non-blocking procedures of exchange with control of the completion of operation are used. The parallelization on the space in two or three directions is carried out depending on the size of integration area and parameters of computational grid. For each subarea the parallelization based on the physical factors is carried out also: the calculations of gas dynamics part and gravitational forces are realized on the different processors, that allows to raise the efficiency of algorithms. The real possibility of the direct calculation of gravitational forces by means of the summation of interaction between all finite volumes in the integration area is shown. For the finite volume methods this approach seems to more consecutive than the solution of Poisson’s equation for the gravitational potential. Numerical calculations were carried out on the computer complex of cluster architecture with the peak productivity 523 TFlops. In the calculations up to thousand processors was used.

Computational design of closed-chain linkages: synthesis of ergonomic spine support module of exosuit
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 6, pp. 1269-1280

The article focuses on the problem of mechanisms’ co-design for robotic systems to perform adaptive physical interaction with an unstructured environment, including physical human robot interaction. The co-design means simultaneous optimization of mechanics and control system, ensuring optimal behavior and performance of the system. Mechanics optimization refers to the search for optimal structure, geometric parameters, mass distribution among the links and their compliance; control refers to the search for motion trajectories for mechanism’s joints. The paper presents a generalized method of structural-parametric synthesis of underactuated mechanisms with closed kinematics for robotic systems for various purposes, e. g., it was previously used for the co-design of fingers’ mechanisms for anthropomorphic gripper and legs’ mechanisms for galloping robots. The method implements the concept of morphological computation of control laws due to the features of mechanical design, minimizing the control effort from the algorithmic component of the control system, which reduces the requirements for the level of technical equipment and reduces energy consumption. In this paper, the proposed method is used to optimize the structure and geometric parameters of the passive mechanism of the back support module of an industrial exosuit. Human movements are diverse and non-deterministic when compared with the movements of autonomous robots, which complicates the design of wearable robotic devices. To reduce injuries, fatigue and increase the productivity of workers, the synthesized industrial exosuit should not only compensate for loads, but also not interfere with the natural human motions. To test the developed exosuit, kinematic datasets from motion capture of an entire human body during industrial operations were used. The proposed method of structural-parametric synthesis was used to improve the ergonomics of a wearable robotic device. Verification of the synthesized mechanism was carried out using simulation: the passive module of the back is attached to two geometric primitives that move the chest and pelvis of the exosuit operator in accordance with the motion capture data. The ergonomics of the back module is quantified by the distance between the joints connecting the upper and bottom parts of the exosuit; minimizing deviation from the average value corresponds to a lesser limitation of the operator’s movement, i. e. greater ergonomics. The article provides a detailed description of the method of structural-parametric synthesis, an example of synthesis of an exosuit module and the results of simulation.

Controlling the movement of the body using internal masses in a viscous liquid
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 4, pp. 445-460

This article is devoted to the study of self-propulsion of bodies in a fluid by the action of internal mechanisms, without changing the external shape of the body. The paper presents an overview of theoretical papers that justify the possibility of this displacement in ideal and viscous liquids.

A special case of self-propulsion of a rigid body along the surface of a liquid is considered due to the motion of two internal masses along the circles. The paper presents a mathematical model of the motion of a solid body with moving internal masses in a three-dimensional formulation. This model takes into account the three-dimensional vibrations of the body during motion, which arise under the action of external forces-gravity force, Archimedes force and forces acting on the body, from the side of a viscous fluid.

The body is a homogeneous elliptical cylinder with a keel located along the larger diagonal. Inside the cylinder there are two material point masses moving along the circles. The centers of the circles lie on the smallest diagonal of the ellipse at an equal distance from the center of mass.

Equations of motion of the system (a body with two material points, placed in a fluid) are represented as Kirchhoff equations with the addition of external forces and moments acting on the body. The phenomenological model of viscous friction is quadratic in velocity used to describe the forces of resistance to motion in a fluid. The coefficients of resistance to movement were determined experimentally. The forces acting on the keel were determined by numerical modeling of the keel oscillations in a viscous liquid using the Navier – Stokes equations.

In this paper, an experimental verification of the proposed mathematical model was carried out. Several series of experiments on self-propulsion of a body in a liquid by means of rotation of internal masses with different speeds of rotation are presented. The dependence of the average propagation velocity, the amplitude of the transverse oscillations as a function of the rotational speed of internal masses is investigated. The obtained experimental data are compared with the results obtained within the framework of the proposed mathematical model.

Optimal control of the motion in an ideal fluid of a screw-shaped body with internal rotors
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 5, pp. 741-759

In this paper we consider the controlled motion of a helical body with three blades in an ideal fluid, which is executed by rotating three internal rotors. We set the problem of selecting control actions, which ensure the motion of the body near the predetermined trajectory. To determine controls that guarantee motion near the given curve, we propose methods based on the application of hybrid genetic algorithms (genetic algorithms with real encoding and with additional learning of the leader of the population by a gradient method) and artificial neural networks. The correctness of the operation of the proposed numerical methods is estimated using previously obtained differential equations, which define the law of changing the control actions for the predetermined trajectory.

In the approach based on hybrid genetic algorithms, the initial problem of minimizing the integral functional reduces to minimizing the function of many variables. The given time interval is broken up into small elements, on each of which the control actions are approximated by Lagrangian polynomials of order 2 and 3. When appropriately adjusted, the hybrid genetic algorithms reproduce a solution close to exact. However, the cost of calculation of 1 second of the physical process is about 300 seconds of processor time.

To increase the speed of calculation of control actions, we propose an algorithm based on artificial neural networks. As the input signal the neural network takes the components of the required displacement vector. The node values of the Lagrangian polynomials which approximately describe the control actions return as output signals . The neural network is taught by the well-known back-propagation method. The learning sample is generated using the approach based on hybrid genetic algorithms. The calculation of 1 second of the physical process by means of the neural network requires about 0.004 seconds of processor time, that is, 6 orders faster than the hybrid genetic algorithm. The control calculated by means of the artificial neural network differs from exact control. However, in spite of this difference, it ensures that the predetermined trajectory is followed exactly.
