Numerical simulation of frequency dependence of dielectric permittivity and electrical conductivity of saturated porous media
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 5, pp. 765-773Views (last year): 8.This article represents numerical simulation technique for determining effective spectral electromagnetic properties (effective electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity) of saturated porous media. Information about these properties is vastly applied during the interpretation of petrophysical exploration data of boreholes and studying of rock core samples. The main feature of the present paper consists in the fact, that it involves three-dimensional saturated digital rock models, which were constructed based on the combined data considering microscopic structure of the porous media and the information about capillary equilibrium of oil-water mixture in pores. Data considering microscopic structure of the model are obtained by means of X-ray microscopic tomography. Information about distributions of saturating fluids is based on hydrodynamic simulations with density functional technique. In order to determine electromagnetic properties of the numerical model time-domain Fourier transform of Maxwell equations is considered. In low frequency approximation the problem can be reduced to solving elliptic equation for the distribution of complex electric potential. Finite difference approximation is based on discretization of the model with homogeneous isotropic orthogonal grid. This discretization implies that each computational cell contains exclusively one medium: water, oil or rock. In order to obtain suitable numerical model the distributions of saturating components is segmented. Such kind of modification enables avoiding usage of heterogeneous grids and disregards influence on the results of simulations of the additional techniques, required in order to determine properties of cells, filled with mixture of media. Corresponding system of differential equations is solved by means of biconjugate gradient stabilized method with multigrid preconditioner. Based on the results of complex electric potential computations average values of electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity is calculated. For the sake of simplicity, this paper considers exclusively simulations with no spectral dependence of conductivities and permittivities of model components. The results of numerical simulations of spectral dependence of effective characteristics of heterogeneously saturated porous media (electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity) in broad range of frequencies and multiple water saturations are represented in figures and table. Efficiency of the presented approach for determining spectral electrical properties of saturated rocks is discussed in conclusion.

Numerical simulation of ethylene combustion in supersonic air flow
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 1, pp. 75-86Views (last year): 8. Citations: 3 (RSCI).In the present paper, we discuss the possibility of a simplified three-dimensional unsteady simulation of plasma-assisted combustion of gaseous fuel in a supersonic airflow. Simulation was performed by using FlowVision CFD software. Analysis of experimental geometry show that it has essentially 3D nature that conditioned by the discrete fuel injection into the flow as well as by the presence of the localized plasma filaments. Study proposes a variant of modeling geometry simplification based on symmetry of the aerodynamic duct and periodicity of the spatial inhomogeneities. Testing of modified FlowVision $k–\varepsilon$ turbulence model named «KEFV» was performed for supersonic flow conditions. Based on that detailed grid without wall functions was used the field of heat and near fuel injection area and surfaces remote from the key area was modeled with using of wall functions, that allowed us to significantly reduce the number of cells of the computational grid. Two steps significantly simplified a complex problem of the hydrocarbon fuel ignition by means of plasma generation. First, plasma formations were simulated by volumetric heat sources and secondly, fuel combustion is reduced to one brutto reaction. Calibration and parametric optimization of the fuel injection into the supersonic flow for IADT-50 JIHT RAS wind tunnel is made by means of simulation using FlowVision CFD software. Study demonstrates a rather good agreement between the experimental schlieren photo of the flow with fuel injection and synthetical one. Modeling of the flow with fuel injection and plasma generation for the facility T131 TSAGI combustion chamber geometry demonstrates a combustion mode for the set of experimental parameters. Study emphasizes the importance of the computational mesh adaptation and spatial resolution increasing for the volumetric heat sources that model electric discharge area. A reasonable qualitative agreement between experimental pressure distribution and modeling one confirms the possibility of limited application of such simplified modeling for the combustion in high-speed flow.

Analysis of point model of fibrin polymerization
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 2, pp. 247-258Views (last year): 8.Functional modeling of blood clotting and fibrin-polymer mesh formation is of a significant value for medical and biophysics applications. Despite the fact of some discrepancies present in simplified functional models their results are of the great interest for the experimental science as a handy tool of the analysis for research planning, data processing and verification. Under conditions of the good correspondence to the experiment functional models can be used as an element of the medical treatment methods and biophysical technologies. The aim of the paper in hand is a modeling of a point system of the fibrin-polymer formation as a multistage polymerization process with a sol-gel transition at the final stage. Complex-value Rosenbroke method of second order (CROS) used for computational experiments. The results of computational experiments are presented and discussed. It was shown that in the physiological range of the model coefficients there is a lag period of approximately 20 seconds between initiation of the reaction and fibrin gel appearance which fits well experimental observations of fibrin polymerization dynamics. The possibility of a number of the consequent $(n = 1–3)$ sol-gel transitions demonstrated as well. Such a specific behavior is a consequence of multistage nature of fibrin polymerization process. At the final stage the solution of fibrin oligomers of length 10 can reach a semidilute state, leading to an extremely fast gel formation controlled by oligomers’ rotational diffusion. Otherwise, if the semidilute state is not reached the gel formation is controlled by significantly slower process of translational diffusion. Such a duality in the sol-gel transition led authors to necessity of introduction of a switch-function in an equation for fibrin-polymer formation kinetics. Consequent polymerization events can correspond to experimental systems where fibrin mesh formed gets withdrawn from the volume by some physical process like precipitation. The sensitivity analysis of presented system shows that dependence on the first stage polymerization reaction constant is non-trivial.

Method of estimation of heart failure during a physical exercise
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 2, pp. 311-321Views (last year): 8. Citations: 1 (RSCI).The results of determination of the risk of cardiovascular failure of young athletes and adolescents in stressful physical activity have been demonstrated. The method of screening diagnostics of the risk of developing heart failure has been described. The results of contactless measurement of the form of the pulse wave of the radial artery using semiconductor laser autodyne have been presented. In the measurements used laser diode type RLD-650 specifications: output power of 5 mW, emission wavelength 654 nm. The problem was solved by the reduced form of the reflector movement, which acts as the surface of the skin of the human artery, tested method of assessing the risk of cardiovascular disease during exercise and the analysis of the results of its application to assess the risk of cardiovascular failure reactions of young athletes. As analyzed parameters were selected the following indicators: the steepness of the rise in the systolic portion of the fast and slow phase, the rate of change in the pulse wave catacrota variability of cardio intervals as determined by the time intervals between the peaks of the pulse wave. It analyzed pulse wave form on its first and second derivative with respect to time. The zeros of the first derivative of the pulse wave allow to set aside time in systolic rise. A minimum of the second derivative corresponds to the end of the phase and the beginning of the slow pressure build-up in the systole. Using the first and second derivative of the pulse wave made it possible to separately analyze the pulse wave form phase of rapid and slow pressure increase phase during systolic expansion. It has been established that the presence of anomalies in the form of the pulse wave in combination with vagotonic nervous regulation of the cardiovascular system of a patient is a sign of danger collapse of circulation during physical exercise.

On the boundaries of optimally designed elastoplastic structures
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 3, pp. 503-515Views (last year): 8.This paper studies minimum volume elastoplastic bodies. One part of the boundary of every reviewed body is fixed to the same space points while stresses are set for the remaining part of the boundary surface (loaded surface). The shape of the loaded surface can change in space but the limit load factor calculated based on the assumption that the bodies are filled with elastoplastic medium must not be less than a fixed value. Besides, all varying bodies are supposed to have some type of a limited volume sample manifold inside of them.
The following problem has been set: what is the maximum number of cavities (or holes in a two-dimensional case) that a minimum volume body (plate) can have under the above limitations? It is established that in order to define a mathematically correct problem, two extra conditions have to be met: the areas of the holes must be bigger than the small constant while the total length of the internal hole contour lines within the optimum figure must be minimum among the varying bodies. Thus, unlike most articles on optimum design of elastoplastic structures where parametric analysis of acceptable solutions is done with the set topology, this paper looks for the topological parameter of the design connectivity.
The paper covers the case when the load limit factor for the sample manifold is quite large while the areas of acceptable holes in the varying plates are bigger than the small constant. The arguments are brought forward that prove the Maxwell and Michell beam system to be the optimum figure under these conditions. As an example, microphotographs of the standard biological bone tissues are presented. It is demonstrated that internal holes with large areas cannot be a part of the Michell system. At the same the Maxwell beam system can include holes with significant areas. The sufficient conditions are given for the hole formation within the solid plate of optimum volume. The results permit generalization for three-dimensional elastoplastic structures.
The paper concludes with the setting of mathematical problems arising from the new problem optimally designed elastoplastic systems.

Calculation of radiation in shockwave layer of a space vehicle taking into account details of photon spectrum
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 4, pp. 579-594Views (last year): 8. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Calculations of radiation transport in the shockwave layer of a descent space vehicle cause essential difficulties due to complex multi-resonance dependence of the absorption macroscopic cross sections from the photon energy. The convergence of two approximate spectrum averaging methods to the results of exact pointwise spectrum calculations is investigated. The first one is the well known multigroup method, the second one is the Lebesgue averaging method belonging to methods of the reduction of calculation points by means of aggregation of spectral points which are characterized by equal absorption strength. It is shown that convergence of the Lebesgue averaging method is significantly faster than the multigroup approach as the number of groups is increased. The only 100–150 Lebesgue groups are required to achieve the accuracy of pointwise calculations even in the shock layer at upper atmosphere with sharp absorption lines. At the same time the number of calculations is reduced by more than four order. Series of calculations of the radiation distribution function in 2D shock layer around a sphere and a blunt cone were performed using the local flat layer approximation and the Lebesgue averaging method. It is shown that the shock wave radiation becomes more significant both in value of the energy flux incident on the body surface and in the rate of energy exchange with the gas-dynamic flow in the case of increasing of the vehicle’s size.

Mathematical modelling of branched hydraulic systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2009, v. 1, no. 2, pp. 173-179Views (last year): 7. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Solving the problem of stationary stream distribution for an arbitrary volume-free hydrosystem with a free level can be reduced to determining the extremes of a multi-variable function. Rayleigh function expressed in terms of the hydraulic characteristics of the parts of the system in question is used as such a function. The same function is Lyapunov function when analyzing the stability of the determined stationary operational modes of a hydrosystem using the direct Lyapunov method.

Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 4, pp. 389-412Views (last year): 7. Citations: 7 (RSCI).The purpose of this paper is to generalize the macroscopic hydrodynamic vehicular traffic models by using the algorithm for constructing the adequate state equation — dependence the pressure from traffic density by taking into account the real experimental data (possibly using the parametric solutions for model equations). It is proved that this kind of state equation which closed model equations system and obtained from the experimentally observed form of the fundamental diagram — dependence the traffic intensity from its density, completely determines the all properties of the used phenomenological model.

Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 4, pp. 489-502Views (last year): 7.An effective regional policy in order to stabilize production is impossible without an analysis of the dynamics of economic processes taking place. This article focuses on developing a mathematical model reflecting the interaction of several economic agents with regard to their interests.
