The similarity dimension of the random iterated function system
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 681-691Views (last year): 1. Citations: 2 (RSCI).In this paper we consider the properties of the random iterated function systems (RIFS) obtained using a generalization of the Chaos game algorithm. Used for the RIFS simulation R is a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. The similarity dimension by the polygonal protofractals Z = {zj}, j = 1, 2, . . . , k nonmonotonically depends on the RIFS parameters dS(μ|k) with an extreme value max dS(μ|k)=−ln k/ln(1/(1+μ)).

Test-signals forming method for correlation identification of nonlinear systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 721-733Views (last year): 1. Citations: 3 (RSCI).Тhe new test-signals forming method for correlation identification of a nonlinear system based on Lee–Shetzen cross-correlation approach is developed and tested. Numerical Gauss–Newton algorithm is applied to correct autocorrelation functions of test signals. The achieved test-signals have length less than 40 000 points and allow to measure the 2nd order Wiener kernels with a linear resolution up to 32 points, the 3rd order Wiener kernels with a linear resolution up to 12 points and the 4th order Wiener kernels with a linear resolution up to 8 points.

Issues of Patankar's numerical scheme stability
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 827-835Views (last year): 1.In this paper we consider the issues of Patankar's numerical scheme stability. The Patankar’s numerical scheme is applied in the most number of the applications. So, the issues of Patankar's numerical scheme stability are very important question for the applications.

Algorithms and Software for Solving Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction Problems on Hybrid HPC Platform
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 153-164Views (last year): 1. Citations: 11 (RSCI).In this paper, we propose a new software for simulation of fluid-structure interaction. The software is designed for solving coupled problems and provides an interface for synchronization synchronisation and data exchange between existing fluid and structural solvers. Algorithms of coupling solvers and mesh deformation are discussed. The software can be used on hybrid CPU/GPU platforms.

The dynamics of polynucleotide chain consisting of two different homogeneous sequences, divided by interface
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 241-253Views (last year): 1. Citations: 3 (RSCI).To research dynamics of inhomogeneous polynucleotide DNA chain the Y-model with no dissipation term was used. Basing on this model using numerical methods calculations were carried out, which have shown the behaviour of nonlinear conformational excitation (kink), spreading along the inhomogeneous polynucleotide chain, consisting of two different homogeneous nucleotide sequences. As numerical analysis shows there are three ways of behaviour of the nonlinear kink excitation spreading along the DNA chain. After reaching the interface between two homogeneous sequences consisting of different types of bases kink can a) reflect, b) pass the interface with acceleration (increase its velocity), c) pass the interface with deceleration (decrease its velocity).

Synchronization of circadian rhythms in the scale of a gene, a cell and a whole organism
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 2, pp. 255-270Views (last year): 1. Citations: 8 (RSCI).In the paper three characteristic scales of a biological system are proposed: microscopic (gene's size), mesoscopic (cell’s size) and macroscopic level (organism’s size). For each case the approach to modeling of circadian rhythms is discussed on the base of a time-delay model. At gene’s scale the stochastic description has been used. The robustness of rhythms mechanism to the fluctuations has been demonstrated. At the mesoscopic scale we propose the deterministic description within the spatially extended model. It was found the effect of collective synchronization of rhythms in cells. Macroscopic effects have been studied within the discrete model describing the collective behaviour of large amount of cells. The problem of cross-linking of results obtained at different scales is discussed. The comparison with experimental data is given.

Collective influence of impurities on the dynamics of kinks of modified sine-Gordon equation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 403-412Views (last year): 1. Citations: 3 (RSCI).We investigated numerically the dynamics of kinks of modified sine-Gordon equation in the model with localized spatial modulation of a periodic potential (or impurity). We considered the case of two identical impurities. We showed the possibility of collective effects of the influence of impurities, which are heavily dependent on the distance between them. We demonstrated the existence of a certain critical value of the distance between impurities, which has two qualitatively different scenarios of the dynamic behavior of kink.

Invariant embedding method modification for calculation of “Woodpile” photonic crystal
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 413-422Views (last year): 1.Modification of the invariant imbedding method to describe the interaction of 3D electromagnetic field with “woodpile” photonic crystal of finite thickness is considered in this paper. This modification allows solving a problem of evanescent modes resonant amplification during numerical calculations for the first layer of photonic crystal. The mathematical model created in this work gives good agreement with physical experiment results.
