Generating database schema from requirement specification based on natural language processing and large language model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 7, pp. 1703-1713

A Large Language Model (LLM) is an advanced artificial intelligence algorithm that utilizes deep learning methodologies and extensive datasets to process, understand, and generate humanlike text. These models are capable of performing various tasks, such as summarization, content creation, translation, and predictive text generation, making them highly versatile in applications involving natural language understanding. Generative AI, often associated with LLMs, specifically focuses on creating new content, particularly text, by leveraging the capabilities of these models. Developers can harness LLMs to automate complex processes, such as extracting relevant information from system requirement documents and translating them into a structured database schema. This capability has the potential to streamline the database design phase, saving significant time and effort while ensuring that the resulting schema aligns closely with the given requirements. By integrating LLM technology with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, the efficiency and accuracy of generating database schemas based on textual requirement specifications can be significantly enhanced. The proposed tool will utilize these capabilities to read system requirement specifications, which may be provided as text descriptions or as Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). It will then analyze the input and automatically generate a relational database schema in the form of SQL commands. This innovation eliminates much of the manual effort involved in database design, reduces human errors, and accelerates development timelines. The aim of this work is to provide a tool can be invaluable for software developers, database architects, and organizations aiming to optimize their workflow and align technical deliverables with business requirements seamlessly.

    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 2, pp. 331-344

Numerical simulation of moving sportsman external flow is presented. The unique method is developed for obtaining integral aerodynamic characteristics, which were the function of the flow regime (i.e. angle of attack, flow speed) and body position. Individual anthropometric characteristics and moving boundaries of sportsman (or sports equipment) during the race are taken into consideration.

Numerical simulation is realized using FlowVision CFD. The software is based on the finite volume method, high-performance numerical methods and reliable mathematical models of physical processes. A Cartesian computational grid is used by FlowVision, the grid generation is a completely automated process. Local grid adaptation is used for solving high-pressure gradient and object complex shape. Flow simulation process performed by solutions systems of equations describing movement of fluid and/or gas in the computational domain, including: mass, moment and energy conservation equations; state equations; turbulence model equations. FlowVision permits flow simulation near moving bodies by means of computational domain transformation according to the athlete shape changes in the motion. Ski jumper aerodynamic characteristics are studied during all phases: take-off performance in motion, in-run and flight. Projected investigation defined simulation method, which includes: inverted statement of sportsman external flow development (velocity of the motion is equal to air flow velocity, object is immobile); changes boundary of the body technology defining; multiple calculations with the national team member data projecting. The research results are identification of the main factors affected to jumping performance: aerodynamic forces, rotating moments etc. Developed method was tested with active sportsmen. Ski jumpers used this method during preparations for Sochi Olympic Games 2014. A comparison of the predicted characteristics and experimental data shows a good agreement. Method versatility is underlined by performing swimmer and skater flow simulation. Designed technology is applicable for sorts of natural and technical objects.

A survey on the application of large language models in software engineering
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 7, pp. 1715-1726

Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming software engineering by bridging the gap between natural language and programming languages. These models have revolutionized communication within development teams and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by enabling developers to interact with code using natural language, thereby improving workflow efficiency. This survey examines the impact of LLMs across various stages of the SDLC, including requirement gathering, system design, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation. LLMs have proven to be particularly useful in automating repetitive tasks such as code generation, refactoring, and bug detection, thus reducing manual effort and accelerating the development process. The integration of LLMs into the development process offers several advantages, including the automation of error correction, enhanced collaboration, and the ability to generate high-quality, functional code based on natural language input. Additionally, LLMs assist developers in understanding and implementing complex software requirements and design patterns. This paper also discusses the evolution of LLMs from simple code completion tools to sophisticated models capable of performing high-level software engineering tasks. However, despite their benefits, there are challenges associated with LLM adoption, such as issues related to model accuracy, interpretability, and potential biases. These limitations must be addressed to ensure the reliable deployment of LLMs in production environments. The paper concludes by identifying key areas for future research, including improving the adaptability of LLMs to specific software domains, enhancing their contextual understanding, and refining their capabilities to generate semantically accurate and efficient code. This survey provides valuable insights into the evolving role of LLMs in software engineering, offering a foundation for further exploration and practical implementation.

Fuzzy modeling the mechanism of transmitting panic state among people with various temperament species
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 5, pp. 1079-1092

A mass congestion of people always represents a potential danger and threat for their lives. In addition, every year in the world a very large number of people die because of the crush, the main cause of which is mass panic. Therefore, the study of the phenomenon of mass panic in view of her extreme social danger is an important scientific task. Available information, about the processes of her occurrence and spread refers to the category inaccurate. Therefore, the theory of fuzzy sets has been chosen as a tool for developing a mathematical model of the mechanism of transmitting panic state among people with various temperament species.

When developing an fuzzy model, it was assumed that panic, from the epicenter of the shocking stimulus, spreads among people according to the wave principle, passing at different frequencies through different environments (types of human temperament), and is determined by the speed and intensity of the circular reaction of the mechanism of transmitting panic state among people. Therefore, the developed fuzzy model, along with two inputs, has two outputs — the speed and intensity of the circular reaction. In the block «Fuzzyfication», the degrees of membership of the numerical values of the input parameters to fuzzy sets are calculated. The «Inference» block at the input receives degrees of belonging for each input parameter and at the output determines the resulting function of belonging the speed of the circular reaction and her derivative, which is a function of belonging for the intensity of the circular reaction. In the «Defuzzyfication» block, using the center of gravity method, a quantitative value is determined for each output parameter. The quality assessment of the developed fuzzy model, carried out by calculating of the determination coefficient, showed that the developed mathematical model belongs to the category of good quality models.

The result obtained in the form of quantitative assessments of the circular reaction makes it possible to improve the quality of understanding of the mental processes occurring during the transmission of the panic state among people. In addition, this makes it possible to improve existing and develop new models of chaotic humans behaviors. Which are designed to develop effective solutions in crisis situations, aimed at full or partial prevention of the spread of mass panic, leading to the emergence of panic flight and the appearance of human casualties.

Numerical simulation of fluid flow in a blood pump in the FlowVision software package
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 4, pp. 1025-1038

A numerical simulation of fluid flow in a blood pump was performed using the FlowVision software package. This test problem, provided by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health of the US. Food and Drug Administration, involved considering fluid flow according to several design modes. At the same time for each case of calculation a certain value of liquid flow rate and rotor speed was set. Necessary data for calculations in the form of exact geometry, flow conditions and fluid characteristics were provided to all research participants, who used different software packages for modeling. Numerical simulations were performed in FlowVision for six calculation modes with the Newtonian fluid and standard $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model, in addition, the fifth mode with the $k-\omega$ SST turbulence model and with the Caro rheological fluid model were performed. In the first stage of the numerical simulation, the convergence over the mesh was investigated, on the basis of which a final mesh with a number of cells of the order of 6 million was chosen. Due to the large number of cells, in order to accelerate the study, part of the calculations was performed on the Lomonosov-2 cluster. As a result of numerical simulation, we obtained and analyzed values of pressure difference between inlet and outlet of the pump, velocity between rotor blades and in the area of diffuser, and also, we carried out visualization of velocity distribution in certain cross-sections. For all design modes there was compared the pressure difference received numerically with the experimental data, and for the fifth calculation mode there was also compared with the experiment by speed distribution between rotor blades and in the area of diffuser. Data analysis has shown good correlation of calculation results in FlowVision with experimental results and numerical simulation in other software packages. The results obtained in FlowVision for solving the US FDA test suggest that FlowVision software package can be used for solving a wide range of hemodynamic problems.

A model for technology diffusion based on the “consumer – resource” equations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2026, v. 18, no. 4, pp. 1035-1052

The author presents a new macroeconomic model designed to analyze and forecast technology diffusion processes in markets characterized by bounded capacity. The study addresses the major limitations of classical phenomenological models, such as the Bass and Gompertz frameworks, which suffer from a rigidly fixed trajectory asymmetry and lack explicit microeconomic foundations. To overcome these constraints, we employ an interdisciplinary approach that transfers the ecological concept of limited resource rationing from the Arditi–Ginzburg–Contois model into operations management theory. This framework integrates the Karmarkar clearing function with the Leontief–Liebig production function to establish a rigorous dynamic balance. By applying this integration, the author analytically derives an alternative technological innovation diffusion law that expresses time as an explicit function of the cumulative market volume. To identify parameters from empirical data, the study develops a robust numerical grid inversion algorithm that utilizes vector linear interpolation within the MATLAB computing environment. This approach avoids iterative root-finding errors and ensures high computational stability for the non-linear least squares optimization procedure. We test the empirical validity of the developed diffusion law using two distinct historical macroeconomic cases: the quarterly cumulative sales of the Apple iPod and the annual subscription data for the mobile broadband market in Germany. The resulting statistical metrics demonstrate that the proposed model provides superior approximation quality and mathematical advantages on high-tech market data due to its highly flexible asymmetry parameter. The fundamental scientific novelty of this research lies in the theoretical justification of the macroeconomic S-curve through the internal balance equations of an open chemostat-type system operating under a competitive vacuum. The proposed mathematical apparatus offers a practical tool for corporate management and regulatory agencies to plan market capacity and accurately forecast peak technological substitution rates.

  7. The paper presents the results of applying a scheme of very high accuracy and resolution to obtain numerical solutions of the Navier – Stokes equations of a compressible gas describing the occurrence and development of instability of a two-dimensional laminar boundary layer on a flat plate. The peculiarity of the conducted studies is the absence of commonly used artificial exciters of instability in the implementation of direct numerical modeling. The multioperator scheme used made it possible to observe the subtle effects of the birth of unstable modes and the complex nature of their development caused presumably by its small approximation errors. A brief description of the scheme design and its main properties is given. The formulation of the problem and the method of obtaining initial data are described, which makes it possible to observe the established non-stationary regime fairly quickly. A technique is given that allows detecting flow fluctuations with amplitudes many orders of magnitude smaller than its average values. A time-dependent picture of the appearance of packets of Tollmien – Schlichting waves with varying intensity in the vicinity of the leading edge of the plate and their downstream propagation is presented. The presented amplitude spectra with expanding peak values in the downstream regions indicate the excitation of new unstable modes other than those occurring in the vicinity of the leading edge. The analysis of the evolution of instability waves in time and space showed agreement with the main conclusions of the linear theory. The numerical solutions obtained seem to describe for the first time the complete scenario of the possible development of Tollmien – Schlichting instability, which often plays an essential role at the initial stage of the laminar-turbulent transition. They open up the possibilities of full-scale numerical modeling of this process, which is extremely important for practice, with a similar study of the spatial boundary layer.

A CPU benchmarking characterization of ARM based processors
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 581-586

Big science projects are producing data at ever increases rates. Typical techniques involve storing the data to disk, after minor filtering, and then processing it in large computer farms. Data production has reached a point where on-line processing is required in order to filter the data down to manageable sizes. A potential solution involves using low-cost, low-power ARM processors in large arrays to provide massive parallelisation for data stream computing (DSC). The main advantage in using System on Chips (SoCs) is inherent in its design philosophy. SoCs are primarily used in mobile devices and hence consume less power while maintaining relatively good performance. A benchmarking characterisation of three different models of ARM processors will be presented.

Memory benchmarking characterisation of ARM-based SoCs
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 607-613

Computational intensity is traditionally the focus of large-scale computing system designs, generally leaving such designs ill-equipped to efficiently handle throughput-oriented workloads. In addition, cost and energy consumption considerations for large-scale computing systems in general remain a source of concern. A potential solution involves using low-cost, low-power ARM processors in large arrays in a manner which provides massive parallelisation and high rates of data throughput (relative to existing large-scale computing designs). Giving greater priority to both throughput-rate and cost considerations increases the relevance of primary memory performance and design optimisations to overall system performance. Using several primary memory performance benchmarks to evaluate various aspects of RAM and cache performance, we provide characterisations of the performances of four different models of ARM-based system-on-chip, namely the Cortex-A9, Cortex- A7, Cortex-A15 r3p2 and Cortex-A15 r3p3. We then discuss the relevance of these results to high volume computing and the potential for ARM processors.

Allocation of steinerpoints in euclidean Steiner tree problem by means of MatLab package
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 707-713

The problem of allocation of Steiner points in Euclidean Steiner Tree is considered. The cost of network is sum of building costs and cost of the information transportation. Euclidean Steiner tree problem in the form of topological network design is a good model of this problem.

The package MatLab has the way to solve the second part of this problem — allocate Steiner points under condition that the adjacency matrix is set. The method to get solution has been worked out. The Steiner tree is formed by means of solving of the sequence of "three points" Steiner
