Modeling the impact of sanctions and import substitution on market performance
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 2, pp. 365-380

The article considers an approach to modeling the impact of sanctions and import substitution on the performance of high-tech product markets based on the use of control theory methods (operational calculus, z-transform). The model under consideration assumes that an equipment manufacturer supplies unique high-tech equipment to a high-tech product (HP) manufacturer that dominates the equipment consumer market. The HP manufacturer, fearing disruption of equipment supplies due to the introduction of all kinds of restrictions and sanctions, invests in the development of import-substituting equipment production in a third company, which can also find application in the external market, at the expense of deductions from its profits. The influence of the following factors and actions on the performance of the conditional market is analyzed: 1) the degree of inertia of the development and production development processes in the company; 2) the share of equipment of the import-substituting company supplied to the HP manufacturer; 3) sanctions (general and selective) on the supply of equipment to the company-manufacturer of the import substitution, as well as blocking the import substitution process in the third company by the first company.

The calculations show that the acceleration of the equipment development and production processes leads to a faster decrease in the production volumes of the first company. At the same time, an increase in price is observed, which is associated with a change in the parameters of the inverse demand function.

An increase in the share of equipment of the import-substituting company consumed by the second company can lead to a sharp increase in production volumes in the second and third companies, stabilization of production volumes in the first company and an increase in price.

The introduction of sanctions leads to a decrease in the production volumes and income of all companies relative to the baseline version. A significant change in price also occurs. However, due to the inertia of the equipment production processes in the example under consideration, a significant change in production volumes in the aggregate of companies occurs with a significant lag. This is especially characteristic of the third company, in which a noticeable deviation from the baseline version begins after 20 years. The blocking by the first equipment manufacturing company of investments in the development of import substitution in the third company ensures a relatively small gain for the first company in production volumes and NPV although allows to raise her market share.

Mathematical methods for stabilizing the structure of social systems under external disturbances
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 4, pp. 845-857

The article considers a bilinear model of the influence of external disturbances on the stability of the structure of social systems. Approaches to the third-party stabilization of the initial system consisting of two groups are investigated — by reducing the initial system to a linear system with uncertain parameters and using the results of the theory of linear dynamic games with a quadratic criterion. The influence of the coefficients of the proposed model of the social system and the control parameters on the quality of the system stabilization is analyzed with the help of computer experiments. It is shown that the use of a minimax strategy by a third party in the form of feedback control leads to a relatively close convergence of the population of the second group (excited by external influences) to an acceptable level, even with unfavorable periodic dynamic perturbations.

The influence of one of the key coefficients in the criterion $(\varepsilon)$ used to compensate for the effects of external disturbances (the latter are present in the linear model in the form of uncertainty) on the quality of system stabilization is investigated. Using Z-transform, it is shown that a decrease in the coefficient $\varepsilon$ should lead to an increase in the values of the sum of the squares of the control. The computer calculations carried out in the article also show that the improvement of the convergence of the system structure to the equilibrium level with a decrease in this coefficient is achieved due to sharp changes in control in the initial period, which may induce the transition of some members of the quiet group to the second, excited group.

The article also examines the influence of the values of the model coefficients that characterize the level of social tension on the quality of management. Calculations show that an increase in the level of social tension (all other things being equal) leads to the need for a significant increase in the third party's stabilizing efforts, as well as the value of control at the transition period.

The results of the statistical modeling carried out in the article show that the calculated feedback controls successfully compensate for random disturbances on the social system (both in the form of «white» noise, and of autocorrelated disturbances).

    Natural models of parallel computations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 781-785

Course “Natural models of parallel computing”, given for senior students of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Moscow State University, is devoted to the issues of supercomputer implementation of natural computational models and is, in fact, an introduction to the theory of natural computing, a relatively new branch of science, formed at the intersection of mathematics, computer science and natural sciences (especially biology). Topics of the natural computing include both already classic subjects such as cellular automata, and relatively new, introduced in the last 10–20 years, such as swarm intelligence. Despite its biological origin, all these models are widely applied in the fields related to computer data processing. Research in the field of natural computing is closely related to issues and technology of parallel computing. Presentation of theoretical material of the course is accompanied by a consideration of the possible schemes for parallel computing, in the practical part of the course it is supposed to perform by the students a software implementation using MPI technology and numerical experiments to investigate the effectiveness of the chosen schemes of parallel computing.
