Numerical simulation of converging spherical shock waves with symmetry violation
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 1, pp. 59-71

The study of the development of π-periodic perturbations of a converging spherical shock wave leading to cumulation limitation is performed. The study is based on 3D hydrodynamic calculations with the Carnahan – Starling equation of state for hard sphere fluid. The method of solving the Euler equations on moving (compressing) grids allows one to trace the evolution of the converging shock wave front with high accuracy in a wide range of its radius. The compression rate of the computational grid is adapted to the motion of the shock wave front, while the motion of the boundaries of the computational domain satisfy the condition of its supersonic velocity relative to the medium. This leads to the fact that the solution is determined only by the initial data at the grid compression stage. The second order TVD scheme is used to reconstruct the vector of conservative variables at the boundaries of the computational cells in combination with the Rusanov scheme for calculating the numerical vector of flows. The choice is due to a strong tendency for the manifestation of carbuncle-type numerical instability in the calculations, which is known for other classes of flows. In the three-dimensional case of the observed force, the carbuncle effect was obtained for the first time, which is explained by the specific nature of the flow: the concavity of the shock wave front in the direction of motion, the unlimited (in the symmetric case) growth of the Mach number, and the stationarity of the front on the computational grid. The applied numerical method made it possible to study the detailed flow pattern on the scale of cumulation termination, which is impossible within the framework of the Whitham method of geometric shock wave dynamics, which was previously used to calculate converging shock waves. The study showed that the limitation of cumulation is associated with the transition from the Mach interaction of converging shock wave segments to a regular one due to the progressive increase in the ratio of the azimuthal velocity at the shock wave front to the radial velocity with a decrease in its radius. It was found that this ratio is represented as a product of a limited oscillating function of the radius and a power function of the radius with an exponent depending on the initial packing density in the hard sphere model. It is shown that increasing the packing density parameter in the hard sphere model leads to a significant increase in the pressures achieved in a shock wave with broken symmetry. For the first time in the calculation, it is shown that at the scale of cumulation termination, the flow is accompanied by the formation of high-energy vortices, which involve the substance that has undergone the greatest shock-wave compression. Influencing heat and mass transfer in the region of greatest compression, this circumstance is important for current practical applications of converging shock waves for the purpose of initiating reactions (detonation, phase transitions, controlled thermonuclear fusion).

About the Evolution of Perturbations Caused by the Movement of Meteoroids in the Earth’s Atmosphere
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 6, pp. 993-1030

On the basis of the MGD equations we consider 2D- and 3D- nonstationary problems about the evolution of perturbations in the lower atmosphere and the Earth’s ionosphere which are caused by the movement of large meteoroids along gently sloping paths of the entry with the simulation of their destruction by the momentary increase of the midship at the point of the pressure head maximum. According to the results of our numerical investigation we obtain and analyze the detailed spatial-temporal distributions of the main parameters of the plasma flows from which in particular a number of phenomena that are similar to those seen in the Chelyabinsk phenomenon follow.

Interaction of a breather with a domain wall in a two-dimensional O(3) nonlinear sigma model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 5, pp. 773-787

By numerical simulation methods the interaction processes of oscillating soliton (breather) with a 180-degree Neel domain wall in the framework of a (2 + 1)-dimensional supersymmetric O(3) nonlinear sigma model is studied. The purpose of this paper is to investigate nonlinear evolution and stability of a system of interacting localized dynamic and topological solutions. To construct the interaction models, were used a stationary breather and domain wall solutions, where obtained in the framework of the two-dimensional sine-Gordon equation by adding specially selected perturbations to the A3-field vector in the isotopic space of the Bloch sphere. In the absence of an external magnetic field, nonlinear sigma models have formal Lorentz invariance, which allows constructing, in particular, moving solutions and analyses the experimental data of the nonlinear dynamics of an interacting solitons system. In this paper, based on the obtained moving localized solutions, models for incident and head-on collisions of breathers with a domain wall are constructed, where, depending on the dynamic parameters of the system, are observed the collisions and reflections of solitons from each other, a long-range interactions and also the decay of an oscillating soliton into linear perturbation waves. In contrast to the breather solution that has the dynamics of the internal degree of freedom, the energy integral of a topologically stable soliton in the all experiments the preserved with high accuracy. For each type of interaction, the range of values of the velocity of the colliding dynamic and topological solitons is determined as a function of the rotation frequency of the A3-field vector in the isotopic space. Numerical models are constructed on the basis of methods of the theory of finite difference schemes, using the properties of stereographic projection, taking into account the group-theoretical features of constructions of the O(N) class of nonlinear sigma models of field theory. On the perimeter of the two-dimensional modeling area, specially developed boundary conditions are established that absorb linear perturbation waves radiated by interacting soliton fields. Thus, the simulation of the interaction processes of localized solutions in an infinite two-dimensional phase space is carried out. A software module has been developed that allows to carry out a complex analysis of the evolution of interacting solutions of nonlinear sigma models of field theory, taking into account it’s group properties in a two-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space. The analysis of isospin dynamics, as well the energy density and energy integral of a system of interacting dynamic and topological solitons is carried out.

Interval analysis of vegetation cover dynamics
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 5, pp. 1191-1205

In the development of the previously obtained result on modeling the dynamics of vegetation cover, due to variations in the temperature background, a new scheme for the interval analysis of the dynamics of floristic images of formations is presented in the case when the parameter of the response rate of the model of the dynamics of each counting plant species is set by the interval of scatter of its possible values. The detailed description of the functional parameters of macromodels of biodiversity, desired in fundamental research, taking into account the essential reasons for the observed evolutionary processes, may turn out to be a problematic task. The use of more reliable interval estimates of the variability of functional parameters “bypasses” the problem of uncertainty in the primary assessment of the evolution of the phyto-resource potential of the developed controlled territories. The solutions obtained preserve not only a qualitative picture of the dynamics of species diversity, but also give a rigorous, within the framework of the initial assumptions, a quantitative assessment of the degree of presence of each plant species. The practical significance of two-sided estimation schemes based on the construction of equations for the upper and lower boundaries of the trajectories of the scatter of solutions depends on the conditions and measure of proportional correspondence of the intervals of scatter of the initial parameters with the intervals of scatter of solutions. For dynamic systems, the desired proportionality is not always ensured. The given examples demonstrate the acceptable accuracy of interval estimation of evolutionary processes. It is important to note that the constructions of the estimating equations generate vanishing intervals of scatter of solutions for quasi-constant temperature perturbations of the system. In other words, the trajectories of stationary temperature states of the vegetation cover are not roughened by the proposed interval estimation scheme. The rigor of the result of interval estimation of the species composition of the vegetation cover of formations can become a determining factor when choosing a method in the problems of analyzing the dynamics of species diversity and the plant potential of territorial systems of resource-ecological monitoring. The possibilities of the proposed approach are illustrated by geoinformation images of the computational analysis of the dynamics of the vegetation cover of the Yamal Peninsula and by the graphs of the retro-perspective analysis of the floristic variability of the formations of the landscapelithological group “Upper” based on the data of the summer temperature background of the Salehard weather station from 2010 to 1935. The developed indicators of floristic variability and the given graphs characterize the dynamics of species diversity, both on average and individually in the form of intervals of possible states for each species of plant.
