Modeling of behavior of panicked crowd in multi-floor branched space
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 491-508

The collective behavior of crowd leaving a room is modeled. The model is based on molecular dynamics approach with a mixture of socio-psychological and physical forces. The new algorithm for complicatedly branched space is proposed. It suggests that each individual develops its own plan of escape, which is stochastically transformed during the evolution. The algorithm includes also the separation of original space into rooms with possible exits selected by individuals according to their probability distribution. The model is calibrated on the base of empirical data provided by fire case in the nightclub “Lame Horse” (Perm, 2009). The algorithm is realized as an end-user Java software. It is assumed that this tool could help to test the buildings for their safety for humans.

Review of MRI processing techniques and elaboration of a new two-parametric method of moments
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 2, pp. 231-244

The paper provides a review of the existing methods of signals’ processing within the conditions of the Rice statistical model applicability. There are considered the principle development directions, the existing limitations and the improvement possibilities concerning the methods of solving the tasks of noise suppression and analyzed signals’ filtration by the example of magnetic-resonance visualization. A conception of a new approach to joint calculation of Rician signal’s both parameters has been developed based on the method of moments in two variants of its implementation. The computer simulation and the comparative analysis of the obtained numerical results have been conducted.

Models of plant succession and soil dynamics at climate changes
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2009, v. 1, no. 4, pp. 405-413

Main theoretical considerations of dynamical changes of forest vegetation are discussed. It is shown that vegetation dynamics (succession) and soil dynamics are linked, and common dynamics is a result of biological turnover of nutrition elements. Main modelling approaches are examined and unsolved problems are formulated. An example of computer experiment on comparison of forest growth at stationary and global warming scenario is considered.

Biological and physico-chemical data from natural objects for ecological environmental monitoring
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 199-207

Methods for establishing standards of environmental quality by data of ecological monitoring are proposed. These are: methods of bioindication by indices of species diversity and size structure of communities, by indices of fish productivity; method for searching for reasons of environmental trouble and ranking them by their contribution into the trouble; methods for standardization of factors which are important as causes of environmental trouble.

Phase transitions associated with economy and demography
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 209-218

Crises in social systems are considered by analogy with phase transitions and the corresponding critical phenomena in «non-living» many-particle physical systems. We present two qualitative physical models: (i) a historical and demographic progress as a gradual condensation of economical domains with an improvement of living conditions, and (ii) the modern economical crisis as a result of a spontaneous «condensation» of assets in a free expansion of the U.S. economy in 1990th and 2000th, reducing a control over large business enterprises formed in this process. The first model explains the observed hyperbolic growth of world population in the I–XX centuries A.D. without any additional assumption while the second model points to the analogy between the economic expansion with a drop of competition, and the expansion of gas into vacuum with a drop of temperature.

Modeling of spatialtemporal migration for closely related species
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 4, pp. 477-488

We consider a model of populations that are closely related and share a common areal. System of nonlinear parabolic equations is formulated that incorporates nonlinear diffusion and migration flows induced by nonuniform densities of population and carrying capacity. We employ the method of lines and study the impact of migration on scenarios of local competition and coexistence of species. Conditions on system parameters are determined when a nontrivial family of steady states is formed.

Approximate methods of studying dynamics of market structure
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 219-229

An approach to computation of open-loop optimal Nash–Cournot strategies in dynamical games which is based on the Z-transform method and factorization is proposed. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that it permits to overcome the problems of instability of economic indicators of oligopolies arising when generalized Riccati equations are used.

On quality of object tracking algorithms
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 2, pp. 303-313

Object movement on a video is classified on the regular (object movement on continuous trajectory) and non-regular (trajectory breaks due to object occlusions by other objects, object jumps and others). In the case of regular object movement a tracker is considered as a dynamical system that enables to use conditions of existence, uniqueness, and stability of the dynamical system solution. This condition is used as the correctness criterion of the tracking process. Also, quantitative criterion for correct mean-shift tracking assessment based on the Lipchitz condition is suggested. Results are generalized for arbitrary tracker.

Computer simulation of nonlinear localized vibrational modes of large amplitude in the crystal Pt3Al with bivacancies Pt
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 5, pp. 1089-1096

By method of molecular dynamics investigated the interaction of nonlinear localized modes with bivacancies Pt crystal Pt3Al. Identified dependences of the lifetime of the nonlinear localized modes from the initial temperature of the crystal model, the initial atom Al deviation from its equilibrium position, as well as the distance to the introduced bivacancy Pt in (111) plane of the crystal.

Solving of boundary tasks by using S-spline
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2009, v. 1, no. 2, pp. 161-171

This article is dedicated to use of S-spline theory for solving equations in partial derivatives. For example, we consider solution of the Poisson equation. S-spline — is a piecewise-polynomial function. Its coefficients are defined by two states. The first part of coefficients are defined by smoothness of the spline. The second coefficients are determined by least-squares method. According to order of considered polynomial and number of conditions of first and second type we get S-splines with different properties. At this moment we have investigated order 3 S-splines of class C1 and order 5 S-splines of class C2 (they meet conditions of smoothness of order 1 and 2 respectively). We will consider how the order 3 S-splines of class C1 can be applied for solving equation of Poisson on circle and other areas.
