Modeling the flight of meteoroid fragments with accounting for rotation
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 4, pp. 593-612

An algorithm for solving the conjugation of aerodynamic and ballistic problems, which is based on the method of modeling with the help of a grid system, has been complemented by a numerical mechanism that allows to take into account the relative movement and rotation of bodies relative to their centers of mass. For a given configuration of the bodies a problem of flow is solved by relaxation method. After that the state of the system is recalculated after a short amount of time. With the use of iteration it is possible to trace the dynamics of the system over a large period of time. The algorithm is implemented for research of flight of systems of bodies taking into account their relative position and rotation. The algorithm was tested on the problem of flow around a body with segmental-conical form. A good correlation of the results with experimental studies was shown. The algorithm is used to calculate the problem of the supersonic fight of a rotating body. For bodies of rectangular shape, imitating elongated fragments of a meteoroid, it is shown that for elongated bodies the aerodynamically more stable position is flight with a larger area across the direction of flight. This de facto leads to flight of bodies with the greatest possible aerodynamic resistance due to the maximum midship area. The algorithm is used to calculate the flight apart of two identical bodies of a rectangular shape, taking into account their rotation. Rotation leads to the fact that the bodies fly apart not only under the action of the pushing aerodynamic force but also the additional lateral force due to the acquisition of the angle of attack. The velocity of flight apart of two fragments with elongated shape of a meteoric body increases to three times with the account of rotation in comparison with the case, when it is assumed that the bodies do not rotate. The study was carried out in order to evaluate the influence of various factors on the velocity of fragmentation of the meteoric body after destruction in order to construct possible trajectories of fallen on earth meteorites. A developed algorithm for solving the conjugation of aerodynamic and ballistic problems, taking into account the relative movement and rotation of the bodies, can be used to solve technical problems, for example, to study the dynamics of separation of aircraft stages.

Analysis of the possibility of investigation of hydrodynamic responses and landing dynamics of space module impacting water with FlowVision CFD software
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 1, pp. 47-55

The results of verification carried out for investigations of hydrodynamic effect on reentry conicalsegmental space vehicle are presented in the paper. The program complex Flow Vision is used for this analysis. The purpose of the study is verification of using Flow Vision program complex for problem solving mentioned above on the base of comparison between calculated and experimental data, obtained on the Apollo landing models and new development reentry spacecraft of manned transporting spaceship designed by RSC Energia. The comparison was carried out through the data of pressure values on spacecraft model surfaces during its water landing and inertia center motion parameters.

The results of study show good agreement between experimental and calculated data of force effects on vehicle construction during water landing and its motion parameters in the water medium. Computer simulation sufficiently well reproduces influence of initial velocities & water entry angles variations on water landing process.

Using of computer simulation provides simultaneous acquisition of all data information needed for investigation of water landing peculiarities during construction design, notably, hydrodynamic effects for structural strength calculations, parameters and dynamics of center mass motion and vehicle revolution around center mass for estimation water landing conditions, as well as vehicle stability after landing.

Obtained results confirm suitability of using Flow Vision program complex for water landing vehicle investigations and investigations of influence of different landing regimes through wide initial condition change range, that permits considerably decrease extent of expensive experimental tests and realize landing conditions which are sufficiently complicated for realizing in model physical experiments.

Analysis of dissipative properties of a hybrid large-particle method for structurally complicated gas flows
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 4, pp. 757-772

We study the computational properties of a parametric class of finite-volume schemes with customizable dissipative properties with splitting by physical processes into Lagrangian, Eulerian, and the final stages (the hybrid large-particle method). The method has a second-order approximation in space and time on smooth solutions. The regularization of a numerical solution at the Lagrangian stage is performed by nonlinear correction of artificial viscosity. Regardless of the grid resolution, the artificial viscosity value tends to zero outside the zone of discontinuities and extremes in the solution. At Eulerian and final stages, primitive variables (density, velocity, and total energy) are first reconstructed by an additive combination of upwind and central approximations weighted by a flux limiter. Then numerical divergent fluxes are formed from them. In this case, discrete analogs of conservation laws are performed.

The analysis of dissipative properties of the method using known viscosity and flow limiters, as well as their linear combination, is performed. The resolution of the scheme and the quality of numerical solutions are demonstrated by examples of two-dimensional benchmarks: a gas flow around the step with Mach numbers 3, 10 and 20, the double Mach reflection of a strong shock wave, and the implosion problem. The influence of the scheme viscosity of the method on the numerical reproduction of a gases interface instability is studied. It is found that a decrease of the dissipation level in the implosion problem leads to the symmetric solution destruction and formation of a chaotic instability on the contact surface.

Numerical solutions are compared with the results of other authors obtained using higher-order approximation schemes: CABARET, HLLC (Harten Lax van Leer Contact), CFLFh (CFLF hybrid scheme), JT (centered scheme with limiter by Jiang and Tadmor), PPM (Piecewise Parabolic Method), WENO5 (weighted essentially non-oscillatory scheme), RKGD (Runge –Kutta Discontinuous Galerkin), hybrid weighted nonlinear schemes CCSSR-HW4 and CCSSR-HW6. The advantages of the hybrid large-particle method include extended possibilities for solving hyperbolic and mixed types of problems, a good ratio of dissipative and dispersive properties, a combination of algorithmic simplicity and high resolution in problems with complex shock-wave structure, both instability and vortex formation at interfaces.

Nonlinear supratransmission in a Pt3Al crystal at intense external influence
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 1, pp. 109-117

The effect of the nonlinear supratransmission in crystal of A3B stoichiometry is studied by molecular dynamics on the example of Pt3Al alloy. This effect is the transfer of energy at frequencies outside the phonon spectrum of the crystal. Research of the mechanisms of energy transport from the material surface to the interior is the important task, both from the theoretical point of view and from the prospects for practical application in the modification of near-surface layers by treatment with intense external influence of various types. The model was a three-dimensional face-centered cubic crystal whose atoms interact by means of the multiparticle potential obtained by the embedded atom method, which provides greater realism of the model in comparison with the use of pair potentials. Various forms of oscillation of the external influence region are considered. The possibility of energy transport from the crystal surface to the interior is shown by excitation of quasi-breathers near the region of influence and their subsequent destruction in the crystal and scattering of the energy stored on them. The quasibreathers are high-amplitude nonlinear atoms' oscillations of the alloy lightweight component at frequencies outside the phonon spectrum of the crystal. This effect was observed not with every oscillation's form of the region of influence. Quasi-breathers appeared most intensely near the region of influence with sinusoidal form oscillations. The results obtained indicate that the contribution of quasi-breathers to the energy transfer through the crystal increases with increasing amplitude of the influence. The range of amplitudes from 0.05 to 0.5 Å is considered. The frequency of the influence varied from 0.2 to 15 THz, which ensured the coverage of the entire spectrum of lowamplitude oscillations for this crystal's model. The minimum magnitude of the external effect amplitude at which this effect was observed was found to be 0.15 Å. At amplitudes greater than 0.5 Å, the cell rapidly decays for frequencies close to the optical branch of the phonon spectrum. The results of the study can be useful for laser processing of materials, surface treatment by low-energy plasma, and also in radiation materials science.

Comparing the effectiveness of computer mass appraisal methods
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 1, pp. 185-196

Location-based models — one of areas of CAMA (computer-assisted mass apriasal) building. When taking into account the location of the object using spatial autoregressive models structure of models (type of spatial autocorrelation, choice of “nearest neighbors”) cannot always be determined before its construction. Moreover, in practice there are situations where more efficient methods are taking into account different rates depending on the type of the object from its location. In this regard there are important issues in spatial methods area:

    – fields of methods efficacy;

    – sensitivity of the methods on the choice of the type of spatial model and on the selected number of nearest neighbors.

This article presents a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of computer evaluation of real estate objects. There are results of approbation on methods based on location information of the objects.
