Computer research of the holomorphic dynamics of exponential and linear-exponential maps
Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 4, pp. 383-405Views (last year): 51. Citations: 1 (RSCI).The work belongs to the direction of experimental mathematics, which investigates the properties of mathematical objects by the computing facilities of a computer. The base is an exponential map, its topological properties (Cantor's bouquets) differ from properties of polynomial and rational complex-valued functions. The subject of the study are the character and features of the Fatou and Julia sets, as well as the equilibrium points and orbits of the zero of three iterated complex-valued mappings: $f:z \to (1+ \mu) \exp (iz)$, $g : z \to \big(1+ \mu |z - z^*|\big) \exp (iz)$, $h : z \to \big(1+ \mu (z - z^* )\big) \exp (iz)$, with $z,\mu \in \mathbb{C}$, $z^* : \exp (iz^*) = z^*$. For a quasilinear map g having no analyticity characteristic, two bifurcation transitions were discovered: the creation of a new equilibrium point (for which the critical value of the linear parameter was found and the bifurcation consists of “fork” type and “saddle”-node transition) and the transition to the radical transformation of the Fatou set. A nontrivial character of convergence to a fixed point is revealed, which is associated with the appearance of “valleys” on the graph of convergence rates. For two other maps, the monoperiodicity of regimes is significant, the phenomenon of “period doubling” is noted (in one case along the path $39\to 3$, in the other along the path $17\to 2$), and the coincidence of the period multiplicity and the number of sleeves of the Julia spiral in a neighborhood of a fixed point is found. A rich illustrative material, numerical results of experiments and summary tables reflecting the parametric dependence of maps are given. Some questions are formulated in the paper for further research using traditional mathematics methods.

Mathematical model and computer analysis of tests for homogeneity of “dose–effect” dependence
Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 2, pp. 267-273Views (last year): 6.The given work is devoted to the comparison of two tests for homogeneity: chi-square test based on contingency tables of 2 × 2 and test for homogeneity based on asymptotic distributions of the summarized square error of a distribution function estimators in the model of ”dose–effect” dependence. The evaluation of test power is performed by means of computer simulation. In order to design efficiency functions the method of kernel regression estimator based on Nadaray–Watson estimator is used.

Improvement of the paired comparison method for implementation in computer programs used in assessment of technical systems’ quality
Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 6, pp. 1125-1135The article describes an improved paired comparison method, which systematizes in tables the rules of logical conclusions and formulas of checking indices for comparison of technical systems. To achieve this goal, the authors formulate rational rules of logical conclusions in making a paired comparison of the systems. In addition, for the purpose of consistency check of the results of the assessment, the authors introduce parameters such as «the number of scores gained by one system» and «systems’ quality index»; moreover, they design corresponding calculation formulas. For the purposes of practical application of this method to design computer programs, the authors propose to use formalized variants of interconnected tables: a table for processing and systematization of expert information, a table of possible logical conclusions based on the results of comparison of a set number of technical systems and a table of check values in the paired comparison method used in quality assessment of a definite number of technical systems. These tables allow one to organize procedures of the information processing in a more rational way and to predominantly exclude the influence of mistakes on the results of quality assessment of technical systems at the stage of data input. The main positive effect from the implementation of the paired comparison method is observed in a considerable reduction of time and resources needed to organize experts work, process expert information, and to prepare and conduct distant interviews with experts (on the Internet or a local computer network of an organization). This effect is achieved by a rational use of input data of the quality of the systems to be assessed. The proposed method is applied to computer programs used in assessing the effectiveness and stability of large technical systems.

Numerical simulation of frequency dependence of dielectric permittivity and electrical conductivity of saturated porous media
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 5, pp. 765-773Views (last year): 8.This article represents numerical simulation technique for determining effective spectral electromagnetic properties (effective electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity) of saturated porous media. Information about these properties is vastly applied during the interpretation of petrophysical exploration data of boreholes and studying of rock core samples. The main feature of the present paper consists in the fact, that it involves three-dimensional saturated digital rock models, which were constructed based on the combined data considering microscopic structure of the porous media and the information about capillary equilibrium of oil-water mixture in pores. Data considering microscopic structure of the model are obtained by means of X-ray microscopic tomography. Information about distributions of saturating fluids is based on hydrodynamic simulations with density functional technique. In order to determine electromagnetic properties of the numerical model time-domain Fourier transform of Maxwell equations is considered. In low frequency approximation the problem can be reduced to solving elliptic equation for the distribution of complex electric potential. Finite difference approximation is based on discretization of the model with homogeneous isotropic orthogonal grid. This discretization implies that each computational cell contains exclusively one medium: water, oil or rock. In order to obtain suitable numerical model the distributions of saturating components is segmented. Such kind of modification enables avoiding usage of heterogeneous grids and disregards influence on the results of simulations of the additional techniques, required in order to determine properties of cells, filled with mixture of media. Corresponding system of differential equations is solved by means of biconjugate gradient stabilized method with multigrid preconditioner. Based on the results of complex electric potential computations average values of electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity is calculated. For the sake of simplicity, this paper considers exclusively simulations with no spectral dependence of conductivities and permittivities of model components. The results of numerical simulations of spectral dependence of effective characteristics of heterogeneously saturated porous media (electrical conductivity and relative dielectric permittivity) in broad range of frequencies and multiple water saturations are represented in figures and table. Efficiency of the presented approach for determining spectral electrical properties of saturated rocks is discussed in conclusion.

Conversion of the initial indices of the technological process of the smelting of steel for the subsequent simulation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 2, pp. 187-199Views (last year): 6. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Efficiency of production directly depends on quality of the management of technology which, in turn, relies on the accuracy and efficiency of the processing of control and measuring information. Development of the mathematical methods of research of the system communications and regularities of functioning and creation of the mathematical models taking into account structural features of object of researches, and also writing of the software products for realization of these methods are an actual task. Practice has shown that the list of parameters that take place in the study of complex object of modern production, ranging from a few dozen to several hundred names, and the degree of influence of each factor in the initial time is not clear. Before working for the direct determination of the model in these circumstances, it is impossible — the amount of the required information may be too great, and most of the work on the collection of this information will be done in vain due to the fact that the degree of influence on the optimization of most factors of the original list would be negligible. Therefore, a necessary step in determining a model of a complex object is to work to reduce the dimension of the factor space. Most industrial plants are hierarchical group processes and mass volume production, characterized by hundreds of factors. (For an example of realization of the mathematical methods and the approbation of the constructed models data of the Moldavian steel works were taken in a basis.) To investigate the systemic linkages and patterns of functioning of such complex objects are usually chosen several informative parameters, and carried out their sampling. In this article the sequence of coercion of the initial indices of the technological process of the smelting of steel to the look suitable for creation of a mathematical model for the purpose of prediction is described. The implementations of new types became also creation of a basis for development of the system of automated management of quality of the production. In the course of weak correlation the following stages are selected: collection and the analysis of the basic data, creation of the table the correlated of the parameters, abbreviation of factor space by means of the correlative pleiads and a method of weight factors. The received results allow to optimize process of creation of the model of multiple-factor process.

Approximate model of an axisymmetric flow of a non-compressible fluid in an infinitely long circular cylinder, the walls of which are composed of elastic rings, based on solutions of the Korteweg – de Vries equation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 2, pp. 375-394An approximate mathematical model of blood flow in an axisymmetric blood vessel is studied. Such a vessel is understood as an infinitely long circular cylinder, the walls of which consist of elastic rings. Blood is considered as an incompressible fluid flowing in this cylinder. Increased pressure causes radially symmetrical stretching of the elastic rings. Following J. Lamb, the rings are located close to each other so that liquid does not flow between them. To mentally realize this, it is enough to assume that the rings are covered with an impenetrable film that does not have elastic properties. Only rings have elasticity. The considered model of blood flow in a blood vessel consists of three equations: the continuity equation, the law of conservation of momentum and the equation of state. An approximate procedure for reducing the equations under consideration to the Korteweg – de Vries (KdV) equation is considered, which was not fully considered by J. Lamb, only to establish the dependence of the coefficients of the KdV equation on the physical parameters of the considered model of incompressible fluid flow in an axisymmetric vessel. From the KdV equation, by a standard transition to traveling waves, ODEs of the third, second and first orders are obtained, respectively. Depending on the different cases of arrangement of the three stationary solutions of the first-order ODE, a cnoidal wave and a soliton are standardly obtained. The main attention is paid to an unbounded periodic solution, which we call a degenerate cnoidal wave. Mathematically, cnoidal waves are described by elliptic integrals with parameters defining amplitudes and periods. Soliton and degenerate cnoidal wave are described by elementary functions. The hemodynamic meaning of these types of decisions is indicated. Due to the fact that the sets of solutions to first-, second- and third-order ODEs do not coincide, it has been established that the Cauchy problem for second- and third-order ODEs can be specified at all points, and for first-order ODEs only at points of growth or decrease. The Cauchy problem for a first-order ODE cannot be specified at extremum points due to the violation of the Lipschitz condition. The degeneration of the cnoidal wave into a degenerate cnoidal wave, which can lead to rupture of the vessel walls, is numerically illustrated. The table below describes two modes of approach of a cnoidal wave to a degenerate cnoidal wave.

Determination of CT dose by means of noise analysis
Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 4, pp. 525-533Views (last year): 23. Citations: 1 (RSCI).The article deals with the process of creating an effective algorithm for determining the amount of emitted quanta from an X-ray tube in computer tomography (CT) studies. An analysis of domestic and foreign literature showed that most of the work in the field of radiometry and radiography takes the tabulated values of X-ray absorption coefficients into account, while individual dose factors are not taken into account at all since many studies are lacking the Dose Report. Instead, an average value is used to simplify the calculation of statistics. In this regard, it was decided to develop a method to detect the amount of ionizing quanta by analyzing the noise of CT data. As the basis of the algorithm, we used Poisson and Gauss distribution mathematical model of owns’ design of logarithmic value. The resulting mathematical model was tested on the CT data of a calibration phantom consisting of three plastic cylinders filled with water, the X-ray absorption coefficient of which is known from the table values. The data were obtained from several CT devices from different manufacturers (Siemens, Toshiba, GE, Phillips). The developed algorithm made it possible to calculate the number of emitted X-ray quanta per unit time. These data, taking into account the noise level and the radiuses of the cylinders, were converted to X-ray absorption values, after which a comparison was made with tabulated values. As a result of this operation, the algorithm used with CT data of various configurations, experimental data were obtained, consistent with the theoretical part and the mathematical model. The results showed good accuracy of the algorithm and mathematical apparatus, which shows reliability of the obtained data. This mathematical model is already used in the noise reduction program of the CT of own design, where it participates as a method of creating a dynamic threshold of noise reduction. At the moment, the algorithm is being processed to work with real data from computer tomography of patients.
