Is a tick an elementary jump in a random walks scheme on the stock market?
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 2, pp. 219-223

In this paper average times between elementary jumps of stock returns on the Russian market were experimentally studied. Considering the scaling of the probability density function of stock returns on different time intervals it is shown that an elementary jump in the random walks scheme for financial instrument returns is a unit price change (tick) that corresponds to a single deal on the stock market.

Convection effect on two-dimensional dynamics in the nonlocal reaction-diffusion model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 55-61

Pattern formation described by the scalar Fisher–Kolmogorov–Petrovsky–Piscounov equation with nonlocal competition loses and convection linear on coordinates is considered numerically. Initial function localized around a point is shown to transform in a function localized around a ring with symmetrically sited local maxima. The ring radius and number of maxima depend on convection.

An investigation of an action potential propagation in vascular plant using FitzHugh-Nagumo model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 77-84

A two-dimensional system of excitable cells, describing by the FitzHugh-Nagumo model, has been used for a theoretical investigation of an action potential propagation (AP) in vascular plant tissues. It is shown that growth of electrical conductivity between cells increases the AP generation threshold and its propagation velocity in the homogeneous system, which has been formed by equal elements. The plant symplast has been
described by the heterogeneous system, including elements with low electrical conductivity, which simulate parenchyma cells, and elements with high electrical conductivity, which simulate sieve elements. Analysis of this system shows that the threshold of the AP generation is similar with this threshold in the homogeneous system
with low electrical conductivity; the velocity of the AP propagation is faster than one in this system.

Biomechanics of DNA: rotational oscillations of bases
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 3, pp. 319-328

In this paper we study the rotational oscillations of the nitrous bases forming a central pair in a short DNA fragment consisting of three base pairs. A simple mechanical analog of the fragment where the bases are imitated by pendulums and the interactions between pendulums — by springs, has been constructed. We derived Lagrangian of the model system and the nonlinear equations of motions. We found solutions in the homogeneous case when the fragment considered consists of identical base pairs: Adenine-Thymine (AT- pair) or Guanine-Cytosine (GC-pair). The trajectories of the model system in the configuration space were also constructed.

Modelling of interlayer magnetostatic energy in nanocrystal films
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 85-90

The computation model of the interlayer magnetostatic energy and its contribution into the total magnetic energy of multilayer films has been proposed. The model has been used for the energy computation of three-layer Co/Cu/Co structure. The comparison of obtained theoretical results with experimental data has been allowed made an estimation of magnetostatic interaction influence on a value and a character of saturation field behavior for such structures.

Platelet transport and adhesion in shear blood flow: the role of erythrocytes
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 185-200

Hemostatic system serves the organism for urgent repairs of damaged blood vessel walls. Its main components – platelets, the smallest blood cells, – are constantly contained in blood and quickly adhere to the site of injury. Platelet migration across blood flow and their hit with the wall are governed by blood flow conditions and, in particular, by the physical presence of other blood cells – erythrocytes. In this review we consider the main regularities of this influence, available mathematical models of platelet migration across blood flow and adhesion based on "convection-diffusion" PDEs, and discuss recent advances in this field. Understanding of the mechanisms of these processes is necessary for building of adequate mathematical models of hemostatic system functioning in blood flow in normal and pathological conditions.

Approximate methods of studying dynamics of market structure
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 1, pp. 219-229

An approach to computation of open-loop optimal Nash–Cournot strategies in dynamical games which is based on the Z-transform method and factorization is proposed. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that it permits to overcome the problems of instability of economic indicators of oligopolies arising when generalized Riccati equations are used.

On one particular model of a mixture of the probability distributions in the radio measurements
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 3, pp. 563-568

This paper presents a model mixture of probability distributions of signal and noise. Typically, when analyzing the data under conditions of uncertainty it is necessary to use nonparametric tests. However, such an analysis of nonstationary data in the presence of uncertainty on the mean of the distribution and its parameters may be ineffective. The model involves the implementation of a case of a priori non-parametric uncertainty in the processing of the signal at a time when the separation of signal and noise are related to different general population, is feasible.

Spatial models in mass appraisal of real estate
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 3, pp. 639-650

The author has analyzed main approaches to the mass appraisal of real property (Russian and foreign), pros and cons are pointed out. An approach based on spatial regression models which shows results better than conventional regression models and applicable to Russian real estate market is presented in the article.
