Benchmarking of CEA FlowVision in ship flow simulation
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 889-899

In the field of naval architecture the most competent recommendations in verification and validation of the numerical methods were developed within an international workshop on the numerical prediction of ship viscous flow which is held every five years in Gothenburg (Sweden) and Tokyo (Japan) alternately. In the workshop “Gothenburg–2000” three modern hull forms with reliable experimental data were introduced as test cases. The most general case among them is a containership KCS, a ship of moderate specific speed and fullness. The paper focuses on a numerical research of KCS hull flow, which was made according to the formal procedures of the workshop with the help of CEA FlowVision. Findings were compared with experimental data and computational data of other key CEA.

Modeling of anisotropic strength using scalar damage parameter
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 937-942

The paper discusses the possibility of modeling the strength anisotropy of layered elastic medium using a scalar damage parameter. Thermodynamically consistent constitutive equations are formulated. Using SIMULIA / Abaqus we numerically simulated the stretching and compression of the samples. The results of calculation using the proposed model are compared with the known experimental data from the literature and the predictions of traditional models.

The choosing of optimal cell parameters of transcatheter aortic valve prosthesis
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 943-954

This paper presents the analysis of dependences between frame basic cell geometry parameters and function via finite element analysis. The simplified models of frame cell with varied strut width, thickness and quantity in a circle was researched to evaluate radial forces, maximum stress and strain, permanent residual strain and pinching load forces. The outcomes of this study might help in the development of new artificial heart valves and during the analysis of existing in-clinical TAVI prostheses.

A computational study of tool for wire drawing
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 6, pp. 983-989

In this paper, stresses in tool for drawing of equiatomic Pt–Ni alloy at room temperature were investigated by means of DEFORM-2D software. Different variants of the diamond tool geometry were analyzed at constant overall dimensions of workholder. It was shown that the rigidity of the die could be reduced without changing the process parameters.

Agreement of Relation Theory and EPR Effect by individual state of quantum particle
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 1, pp. 3-34

We consider effect of Einstein, Podolsky, Rosen in connection with quantum mechanic and relative theory. We sow that may introduce in quantum mechanic the individual state for quantum particle which eliminate the contradiction quantum mechanics with relative theory of type long-range action between correlated particles. In article we develop the apparatus for individual state introducing in quantum mechanic formalism and build the EPR effect model without contradictory. We describe the general mechanism of Bell inequalities infringement and analogical effects.

Converting three-dimensional computer geometric models for optimization of simulated devices’ parameters
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 1, pp. 81-91

This work focuses on the application of a method of construction and conversion of three-dimensional computer models for optimization of geometric parameters of simulated devices. The method is used in design of complex technical devices for control system components of an exhaust gas recirculation vehicle – electric EGR valve with magnetic and electric motor. Three-dimensional geometric computer models were created in KOMPAS-3D environment and converted to Maxwell-2D. In Maxwell-2D environment transient electromagnetic processes for further optimization of parameters of therecirculation system devicewere calculated using a criterion of reducing power loss of the automobile engine.

  8. A problem of finding of an invariant measure of irreducible discrete-time Markov chain with a finite state space is considered. There is a unique invariant measure for such Markov chain that can be multiplied by an arbitrary constant. A representation of a Markov chain by a directed graph is considered. Each state is represented by a vertex, and each conditional transition probability is represented by a directed edge. It is proved that an invariant measure for each state is a sum of $n^{n−2}$ non-negative summands, where $n$ is a cardinality of state space. Each summand is a product of $n − 1$ conditional transition probabilities and is represented by an opposite directed tree that includes all vertices. The root represents the considered state. The edges are directed to the root. This result leads to methods of analyses and calculation of an invariant measure that is based on a graph theory.

    Cloud Infrastructure at JINR
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 463-467

Cloud technologies are already wide spread among IT industry and start to gain popularity in academic field. There are several fundamental cloud models: infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). The article describes the cloud infrastructure deployed at the Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (LIT JINR). It explains the goals of the cloud infrastructure creation, specifics of the implementation, its utilization, current work and plans for development.

The development of an ARM system on chip based processing unit for data stream computing
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 505-509

Modern big science projects are becoming highly data intensive to the point where offline processing of stored data is infeasible. High data throughput computing, or Data Stream Computing, for future projects is required to deal with terabytes of data per second which cannot be stored in long-term storage elements. Conventional data-centres based on typical server-grade hardware are expensive and are biased towards processing power. The overall I/O bandwidth can be increased with massive parallelism, usually at the expense of excessive processing power and high energy consumption. An ARM System on Chip (SoC) based processing unit may address the issue of system I/O and CPU balance, affordability and energy efficiency since ARM SoCs are mass produced and designed to be energy efficient for use in mobile devices. Such a processing unit is currently in development, with a design goal of 20 Gb/s I/O throughput and significant processing power. The I/O capabilities of consumer ARM System on Chips are discussed along with to-date performance and I/O throughput tests.
