  1. A calculation method for boundaries of quality classes for quantitative systems characteristics of any nature is suggested. The method allows to determine interactions which are not detectable using correlation and regression analysis; quality classes’ boundaries of systems’ condition indicator and boundaries of the factors influencing this condition; contribution of the factors to a degree of «inadmissibility» of indicator values; sufficiency of the program observing the factors to describe the causes of «inadmissibility» of indicator values.

  2. The mathematical model of a three-layered Co/Cu/Co nanopillar for MRAM cell with one fixed and one free layer was investigated in the approximation of uniformly distributed magnetization. The anisotropy axis is perpendicular to the layers (so-called perpendicular anisotropy). Initially the magnetization of the free layer is oriented along the anisotropy axis in the position accepted to be “zero”. Simultaneous magnetic field and spinpolarized current engaging can reorient the magnetization to another position which in this context can be accepted as “one”. The mathematical description of the effect is based on the classical vector Landau–Lifshits equation with the dissipative term in the Gilbert form. In our model we took into account the interactions of the magnetization with an external magnetic field and such effective magnetic fields as an anisotropy and demagnetization ones. The influence of the spin-polarized injection current is taken into account in the form of Sloczewski–Berger term. The model was reduced to the set of three ordinary differential equations with the first integral. It was shown that at any current and field the dynamical system has two main equilibrium states on the axis coincident with anisotropy axis. It was ascertained that in contrast with the longitudinal-anisotropy model, in the model with perpendicular anisotropy there are no other equilibrium states. The stability analysis of the main equilibrium states was performed. The bifurcation diagrams characterizing the magnetization dynamics at different values of the control parameters were built. The classification of the phase portraits on the unit sphere was performed. The features of the dynamics at different values of the parameters were studied and the conditions of the magnetization reorientation were determined. The trajectories of magnetization switching were calculated numerically using the Runge–Kutta method. The parameter values at which limit cycles exist were determined. The threshold values for the switching current were found analytically. The threshold values for the structures with longitudinal and perpendicular anisotropy were compared. It was established that in the structure with the perpendicular anisotropy at zero field the switching current is an order lower than in the structure with the longitudinal one.

Analysis of a numerical method for studying upward flame spread over solid material
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 6, pp. 755-774

Reduction of the fire hazard of polymeric materials is one of the important scientific and technical problems. Since complexity of experimental procedures associated with flame spread, establishing reacting flows theoretical basics turned out to be crucial field of modern fundamental science. In order to determine parameters of flame spread over solid combustible materials numerical modelling methods have to be improved. Large amount of physical and chemical processes taking place needed to be resolved not just separately one by one but in connection with each other in gas and solid phases.

Upward flame spread over vertical solid combustible material is followed by unsteady eddy structures of gas flow in the vicinity of flame zone caused by thermal instability and natural convection forces accelerating hot combustion products. At every moment different amount of heat energy is transferred from hot gas-phase flame to solid material because of eddy flow structures. Therefore, satisfactory heat flux and eddy flow modelling are important to estimate flame spread rate.

In the current study we evaluated parameters of numerical method for flame spread over solid combustible material problem taking into account coupled nature of complex interaction between gas phase, solid material and eddy flow resulted from natural convection. We studied aspects of different approximation schemes used in differential equations integration process over space and time, of fields relaxation during iterations procedure carried out inside time step, of different time step values.

Mathematical model formulated allows to simulate flame spread over solid combustible material. Fluid dynamics is modeled by Navier – Stokes system of equations, eddy flow is described by combined turbulent model RANS–LES (DDES), turbulent combustion is resolved by modified turbulent combustion model Eddy Break-Up taking into account kinetic effects, radiation transfer is modeled by spherical harmonics method of first order approximation (P1). The equations presented are solved in OpenFOAM software.

Comparison of complex dynamical systems based on topological data analysis
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 3, pp. 513-525

The paper considers the possibility of comparing and classifying dynamical systems based on topological data analysis. Determining the measures of interaction between the channels of dynamic systems based on the HIIA (Hankel Interaction Index Array) and PM (Participation Matrix) methods allows you to build HIIA and PM graphs and their adjacency matrices. For any linear dynamic system, an approximating directed graph can be constructed, the vertices of which correspond to the components of the state vector of the dynamic system, and the arcs correspond to the measures of mutual influence of the components of the state vector. Building a measure of distance (proximity) between graphs of different dynamic systems is important, for example, for identifying normal operation or failures of a dynamic system or a control system. To compare and classify dynamic systems, weighted directed graphs corresponding to dynamic systems are preliminarily formed with edge weights corresponding to the measures of interaction between the channels of the dynamic system. Based on the HIIA and PM methods, matrices of measures of interaction between the channels of dynamic systems are determined. The paper gives examples of the formation of weighted directed graphs for various dynamic systems and estimation of the distance between these systems based on topological data analysis. An example of the formation of a weighted directed graph for a dynamic system corresponding to the control system for the components of the angular velocity vector of an aircraft, which is considered as a rigid body with principal moments of inertia, is given. The method of topological data analysis used in this work to estimate the distance between the structures of dynamic systems is based on the formation of persistent barcodes and persistent landscape functions. Methods for comparing dynamic systems based on topological data analysis can be used in the classification of dynamic systems and control systems. The use of traditional algebraic topology for the analysis of objects does not allow obtaining a sufficient amount of information due to a decrease in the data dimension (due to the loss of geometric information). Methods of topological data analysis provide a balance between reducing the data dimension and characterizing the internal structure of an object. In this paper, topological data analysis methods are used, based on the use of Vietoris-Rips and Dowker filtering to assign a geometric dimension to each topological feature. Persistent landscape functions are used to map the persistent diagrams of the method of topological data analysis into the Hilbert space and then quantify the comparison of dynamic systems. Based on the construction of persistent landscape functions, we propose a comparison of graphs of dynamical systems and finding distances between dynamical systems. For this purpose, weighted directed graphs corresponding to dynamical systems are preliminarily formed. Examples of finding the distance between objects (dynamic systems) are given.

Situational resource allocation: review of technologies for solving problems based on knowledge systems
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 4, pp. 543-566

The article presents updated technologies for solving two classes of linear resource allocation problems with dynamically changing characteristics of situational management systems and awareness of experts (and/or trained robots). The search for solutions is carried out in an interactive mode of computational experiment using updatable knowledge systems about problems considered as constructive objects (in accordance with the methodology of formalization of knowledge about programmable problems created in the theory of S-symbols). The technologies are focused on implementation in the form of Internet services. The first class includes resource allocation problems solved by the method of targeted solution movement. The second is the problems of allocating a single resource in hierarchical systems, taking into account the priorities of expense items, which can be solved (depending on the specified mandatory and orienting requirements for the solution) either by the interval method of allocation (with input data and result represented by numerical segments), or by the targeted solution movement method. The problem statements are determined by requirements for solutions and specifications of their applicability, which are set by an expert based on the results of the portraits of the target and achieved situations analysis. Unlike well-known methods for solving resource allocation problems as linear programming problems, the method of targeted solution movement is insensitive to small data changes and allows to find feasible solutions when the constraint system is incompatible. In single-resource allocation technologies, the segmented representation of data and results allows a more adequate (compared to a point representation) reflection of the state of system resource space and increases the practical applicability of solutions. The technologies discussed in the article are programmatically implemented and used to solve the problems of resource basement for decisions, budget design taking into account the priorities of expense items, etc. The technology of allocating a single resource is implemented in the form of an existing online cost planning service. The methodological consistency of the technologies is confirmed by the results of comparison with known technologies for solving the problems under consideration.

  6. The method of calculation of the boundaries of quality classes for quantitative characteristics of systems with any properties is adapted to search for boundaries of three quality classes. In addition to other results, adaptation of the method allowed to determine boundaries between quality classes at simultaneous «unacceptability » of high and low values of indicator characteristic of the system condition and simultaneous «inadmissibility » of high and low values of factors affecting the system.

Modelling the risk of insect impacts on forest stands after possible climate changes
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 2, pp. 241-253

A model of forest insect population dynamics used to simulate of “forest-insect” interactions and for estimation of possible damages of forest stand by pests. This model represented a population as control system where the input variables characterized the influence of modifier (climatic) factors and the feedback loop describes the effect of regulatory factors (parasites, predators and population interactions). The technique of stress testing on the basis of population dynamics model proposed for assessment of the risks of forest stand damage and destruction after insect impact. The dangerous forest pest pine looper Bupalus piniarius L. considered as the object of analysis. Computer experiments were conducted to assess of outbreak risks with possible climate change in the territory of Central Siberia. Model experiments have shown that risk of insect impact on the forest is not increased significantly in condition of sufficiently moderate warming (not more than 4 °C in summer period). However, a stronger warming in the territory of Central Siberia, combined with a dry summer condition could cause a significant increase in the risk of pine looper outbreaks.

Mathematical models and methods for organizing calculations in SMP systems
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 3, pp. 423-436

The paper proposes and investigates a mathematical model of a distributed computing system of parallel interacting processes competing for the use of a limited number of copies of a structured software resource. In cases of unlimited and limited parallelism by the number of processors of a multiprocessor system, the problems of determining operational and exact values of the execution time of heterogeneous and identically distributed competing processes in a synchronous mode are solved, which ensures a linear order of execution of blocks of a structured software resource within each of the processes without delays. The obtained results can be used in a comparative analysis of mathematical relationships for calculating the implementation time of a set of parallel distributed interacting competing processes, a mathematical study of the efficiency and optimality of the organization of distributed computing, solving problems of constructing an optimal layout of blocks of an identically distributed system, finding the optimal number of processors that provide the directive execution time of given volumes of computations. The proposed models and methods open up new prospects for solving problems of optimal distribution of limited computing resources, synchronization of a set of interacting competing processes, minimization of system costs when executing parallel distributed processes.

Analysis of noise-induced destruction of coexistence regimes in «prey–predator» population model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 4, pp. 647-660

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the proximity of the population system to dangerous boundaries. An intersection of these boundaries results in the collapse of the stable coexistence of interacting populations. As a reason of such destruction one can consider random perturbations inevitably presented in any living system. This study is carried out on the example of the well-known model of interaction between predator and prey populations, taking into account both a stabilizing factor of the competition of predators for another than prey resources, and also a destabilizing saturation factor for predators. To describe the saturation of predators, we use the second type Holling trophic function. The dynamics of the system is studied as a function of the predator saturation, and the coefficient of predator competition for resources other than prey. The paper presents a parametric description of the possible dynamic regimes of the deterministic model. Here, local and global bifurcations are studied, and areas of sustainable coexistence of populations in equilibrium and the oscillation modes are described. An interesting feature of this mathematical model, firstly considered by Bazykin, is a global bifurcation of the birth of limit cycle from the separatrix loop. We study the effects of noise on the equilibrium and oscillatory regimes of coexistence of predator and prey populations. It is shown that an increase of the intensity of random disturbances can lead to significant deformations of these regimes right up to their destruction. The aim of this work is to develop a constructive probabilistic criterion for the proximity of the population stochastic system to the dangerous boundaries. The proposed approach is based on the mathematical technique of stochastic sensitivity functions, and the method of confidence domains. In the case of a stable equilibrium, this confidence domain is an ellipse. For the stable cycle, this domain is a confidence band. The size of the confidence domain is proportional to the intensity of the noise and stochastic sensitivity of the initial deterministic attractor. A geometric criterion of the exit of the population system from sustainable coexistence mode is the intersection of the confidence domain and the corresponding separatrix of the unforced deterministic model. An effectiveness of this analytical approach is confirmed by the good agreement of theoretical estimates and results of direct numerical simulations.

Import model of flexible woven composites in ANSYS Mechanical APDL
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 6, pp. 789-799

A variant of import into ANSYS Mechanical APDL system of the model of behavior of flexible woven composite materials with reinforcing weaving cloth of linen at static stretching along the reinforcement yarns is offered. The import was carried out using an integration module based on the use of an analytical model of deformation of the material under study. The model is presented in the articles published earlier and takes into account the changes in the geometric structure occurring in the reinforcing layer of the material during the deformation process, the formation of irreversible deformations and the interaction of cross-lying reinforcing fabric threads. In the introduction input characteristics of the plain weave of the reinforcing fabric and the analytical model imported into ANSYS are briefly described. The input parameters of the module are the mechanical characteristics of the materials that make up the composite (binder and material of reinforcement yarns), the geometric characteristics of the interlacing of the reinforcing fabric. The algorithm for importing the model is based on the calculation and transfer in ANSYS of the calculated points of the material stress-strain diagram for uniaxial stretching along the reinforcement direction and using the Multilinear Kinematich Hardening model material embedded in the ANSYS. The analytical model imported with the help of the presented module allows to model a composite material with reinforcing fabric without a detailed description of the geometry of the interlacing of threads during modeling of the material as a whole. The imported model was verified. For verification full-scale experimental studies and numerical simulation of the stretching of samples from flexible woven composites were carried out. The analysis of the obtained results showed good qualitative and quantitative agreement of calculations.
