A new form of differential equations in modeling of the motion of a heavy solid
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 6, pp. 873-884

The different types of the reduced equations are known in the dynamics a heavy rigid body with a fixed point. Since the Euler−Poisson’s equations admit the three first integrals, then for the first approach the obtaining new forms of equations are usually based on these integrals. The system of six scalar equations can be transformed to a third-order system with them. However, in indicated approach the reduced system will have a feature as in the form of radical expressions a relatively the components of the angular velocity vector. This fact prevents the effective the effective application of numerical and asymptotic methods of solutions research. In the second approach the different types of variables in a problem are used: Euler’s angles, Hamilton’s variables and other variables. In this approach the Euler−Poisson’s equations are reduced to either the system of second-order differential equations, or the system for which the special methods are effective. In the article the method of finding the reduced system based on the introduction of an auxiliary variable is applied. This variable characterizes the mixed product of the angular momentum vector, the vector of vertical and the unit vector barycentric axis of the body. The system of four differential equations, two of which are linear differential equations was obtained. This system has no analog and does not contain the features that allows to apply to it the analytical and numerical methods. Received form of equations is applied for the analysis of a special class of solutions in the case when the center of mass of the body belongs to the barycentric axis. The variant in which the sum of the squares of the two components of the angular momentum vector with respect to not barycentric axes is constant. It is proved that this variant exists only in the Steklov’s solution. The obtained form of Euler−Poisson’s equations can be used to the investigation of the conditions of existence of other classes of solutions. Certain perspectives obtained equations consists a record of all solutions for which the center of mass is on barycentric axis in the variables of this article. It allows to carry out a classification solutions of Euler−Poisson’s equations depending on the order of invariant relations. Since the equations system specified in the article has no singularities, it can be considered in computer modeling using numerical methods.

Investigation of the accuracy of the lattice Boltzmann method in calculating acoustic wave propagation
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 6, pp. 1069-1081

The article presents a systematic investigation of the capabilities of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for modeling the propagation of acoustic waves. The study considers the problem of wave propagation from a point harmonic source in an unbounded domain, both in a quiescent medium (Mach number $M=0$) and in the presence of a uniform mean flow ($M=0.2$). Both scenarios admit analytical solutions within the framework of linear acoustics, allowing for a quantitative assessment of the accuracy of the numerical method.

The numerical implementation employs the two-dimensional D2Q9 velocity model and the Bhatnagar – Gross – Krook (BGK) collision operator. The oscillatory source is modeled using Gou’s scheme, while spurious high-order moment noise generated by the source is suppressed via a regularization procedure applied to the distribution functions. To minimize wave reflections from the boundaries of the computational domain, a hybrid approach is used, combining characteristic boundary conditions based on Riemann invariants with perfectly matched layers (PML) featuring a parabolic damping profile.

A detailed analysis is conducted to assess the influence of computational parameters on the accuracy of the method. The dependence of the error on the PML thickness ($L_{\text{PML}}^{}$) and the maximum damping coefficient ($\sigma_{\max}^{}$), the dimensionless source amplitude ($Q'_0$), and the grid resolution is thoroughly examined. The results demonstrate that the LBM is suitable for simulating acoustic wave propagation and exhibits second-order accuracy. It is shown that achieving high accuracy (relative pressure error below $1\,\%$) requires a spatial resolution of at least $20$ grid points per wavelength ($\lambda$). The minimal effective PML parameters ensuring negligible boundary reflections are identified as $\sigma_{\max}^{}\geqslant 0.02$ and $L_{\text{PML}}^{} \geqslant 2\lambda$. Additionally, it is shown that for source amplitudes $Q_0' \geqslant 0.1$, nonlinear effects become significant compared to other sources of error.

Symmetries of differential equations in computer vision applications
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 4, pp. 369-376

In our work we present generalization of well-known approach for construction of invariant feature vectors of images in computer vision applications. Basic feature of the suggested algorithm is replacement of commonly used Gaussian filter by convolution of image function with Green’s function of evolution operator, which inherits symmetries of this operator. The use of general filtration allows to obtain additional characteristics of invariant feature vectors.

Simulation model of spline interpolation of piecewise linear trajectory for CNC machine tools
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 2, pp. 225-242

In traditional CNC systems, each segment of a piecewise linear trajectory is described by a separate block of the control program. In this case, a trapezoidal trajectory of movement is formed, and the stitching of individual sections is carried out at zero values of speed and acceleration. Increased productivity is associated with continuous processing, which in modern CNC systems is achieved through the use of spline interpolation. For a piecewise linear trajectory, which is basic for most products, the most appropriate is a first-degree spline. However, even in the simplest case of spline interpolation, the closed nature of the basic software from leading manufacturers of CNC systems limits the capabilities of not only developers, but also users. Taking this into account, the purpose of this work is a detailed study of the structural organization and operation algorithms of the simulation model of piecewise linear spline interpolation. Limitations on jerk and acceleration are considered as the main measure to reduce dynamic processing errors. In this case, special attention is paid to the S-shaped shape of the speed curve in the acceleration and deceleration sections. This is due to the conditions for the implementation of spline interpolation, one of which is the continuity of movement, which is ensured by the equality of the first and second derivatives when joining sections of the trajectory. Such a statement corresponds to the principles of implementing combined control systems of a servo electric drive, which provide partial invariance to control and disturbing effects. The reference model of a spline interpolator is adopted as the basis of the structural organization. The issues of processing scaling, which are based on a decrease in the vector speed in relation to the base value, are also considered. This allows increasing the accuracy of movements. It is shown that the range of changes in the speed of movements can be more than ten thousand, and is limited only by the speed control capabilities of the actuators.

Invariant embedding method modification for calculation of “Woodpile” photonic crystal
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 3, pp. 413-422

Modification of the invariant imbedding method to describe the interaction of 3D electromagnetic field with “woodpile” photonic crystal of finite thickness is considered in this paper. This modification allows solving a problem of evanescent modes resonant amplification during numerical calculations for the first layer of photonic crystal. The mathematical model created in this work gives good agreement with physical experiment results.

The invariance principle of La-Salle and mathematical models for the evolution of microbial populations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 177-190

A mathematical model for the evolution of microbial populations during prolonged cultivation in a chemostat has been constructed. This model generalizes the sequence of the well-known mathematical models of the evolution, in which such factors of the genetic variability were taken into account as chromosomal mutations, mutations in plasmid genes, the horizontal gene transfer, the plasmid loss due to cellular division and others. Liapunov’s function for the generic model of evolution is constructed. The existence proof of bounded, positive invariant and globally attracting set in the state space of the generic mathematical model for the evolution is presented because of the application of La-Salle’s theorem. The analytic description of this set is given. Numerical methods for estimate of the number of limit sets, its location and following investigation in the mathematical models for evolution are discussed.

High-precision estimation of the spatial orientation of the video camera of the vision system of the mobile robotic complex
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 1, pp. 93-107

The efficiency of mobile robotic systems (MRS) that monitor the traffic situation, urban infrastructure, consequences of emergency situations, etc., directly depends on the quality of vision systems, which are the most important part of MRS. In turn, the accuracy of image processing in vision systems depends to a great extent on the accuracy of spatial orientation of the video camera placed on the MRS. However, when video cameras are placed on the MRS, the level of errors of their spatial orientation increases sharply, caused by wind and seismic vibrations, movement of the MRS over rough terrain, etc. In this connection, the paper considers a general solution to the problem of stochastic estimation of spatial orientation parameters of video cameras in conditions of both random mast vibrations and arbitrary character of MRS movement. Since the methods of solving this problem on the basis of satellite measurements at high intensity of natural and artificial radio interference (the methods of formation of which are constantly being improved) are not able to provide the required accuracy of the solution, the proposed approach is based on the use of autonomous means of measurement — inertial and non-inertial. But when using them, the problem of building and stochastic estimation of the general model of video camera motion arises, the complexity of which is determined by arbitrary motion of the video camera, random mast oscillations, measurement disturbances, etc. The problem of stochastic estimation of the general model of video camera motion arises. Due to the unsolved nature of this problem, the paper considers the synthesis of both the video camera motion model in the most general case and the stochastic estimation of its state parameters. The developed algorithm for joint estimation of the spatial orientation parameters of the video camera placed on the mast of the MRS is invariant to the nature of motion of the mast, the video camera, and the MRS itself, providing stability and the required accuracy of estimation under the most general assumptions about the nature of interference of the sensitive elements of the autonomous measuring complex used. The results of the numerical experiment allow us to conclude that the proposed approach can be practically applied to solve the problem of the current spatial orientation of MRS and video cameras placed on them using inexpensive autonomous measuring devices.

Dynamics analysis of coupled synthetic genetic repressilators
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2010, v. 2, no. 4, pp. 403-418

We have investigated dynamics of synthetic genetic oscillators — repressilators — coupled through autoinducer diffusion. The model of the system with phase-repulsive coupling structure is under consideration. We have examined emergence of periodic regimes, stable inhomogeneous steady states depending on the main systems’ parameters: coupling strength and maximal transcription rate. It has been shown that autoinducer production module added to the isolated repressilator cause the limit cycle to disappear through infinite period bifurcation for sufficiently large transcription rate. We have found hysteresis of limit cycle and stable steady state the size of which is determined by ratio between mRNA and protein lifetimes. Two coupled oscillators system demonstrates stable anti-phase oscillations which can become a chaotic regime through invariant torus emergence or via Feigenbaum scenario.

Interaction of a breather with a domain wall in a two-dimensional O(3) nonlinear sigma model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 5, pp. 773-787

By numerical simulation methods the interaction processes of oscillating soliton (breather) with a 180-degree Neel domain wall in the framework of a (2 + 1)-dimensional supersymmetric O(3) nonlinear sigma model is studied. The purpose of this paper is to investigate nonlinear evolution and stability of a system of interacting localized dynamic and topological solutions. To construct the interaction models, were used a stationary breather and domain wall solutions, where obtained in the framework of the two-dimensional sine-Gordon equation by adding specially selected perturbations to the A3-field vector in the isotopic space of the Bloch sphere. In the absence of an external magnetic field, nonlinear sigma models have formal Lorentz invariance, which allows constructing, in particular, moving solutions and analyses the experimental data of the nonlinear dynamics of an interacting solitons system. In this paper, based on the obtained moving localized solutions, models for incident and head-on collisions of breathers with a domain wall are constructed, where, depending on the dynamic parameters of the system, are observed the collisions and reflections of solitons from each other, a long-range interactions and also the decay of an oscillating soliton into linear perturbation waves. In contrast to the breather solution that has the dynamics of the internal degree of freedom, the energy integral of a topologically stable soliton in the all experiments the preserved with high accuracy. For each type of interaction, the range of values of the velocity of the colliding dynamic and topological solitons is determined as a function of the rotation frequency of the A3-field vector in the isotopic space. Numerical models are constructed on the basis of methods of the theory of finite difference schemes, using the properties of stereographic projection, taking into account the group-theoretical features of constructions of the O(N) class of nonlinear sigma models of field theory. On the perimeter of the two-dimensional modeling area, specially developed boundary conditions are established that absorb linear perturbation waves radiated by interacting soliton fields. Thus, the simulation of the interaction processes of localized solutions in an infinite two-dimensional phase space is carried out. A software module has been developed that allows to carry out a complex analysis of the evolution of interacting solutions of nonlinear sigma models of field theory, taking into account it’s group properties in a two-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space. The analysis of isospin dynamics, as well the energy density and energy integral of a system of interacting dynamic and topological solitons is carried out.
