Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 5, pp. 635-642Views (last year): 4. Citations: 3 (RSCI).A new grid and cloud services simulation for NICA accelerator complex data storage and processing system are described. This system is focused on improving the efficiency of the grid-cloud systems development by using work quality indicators of some real system to design and predict its evolution. For these purpose the simulation program are combined with real monitoring system of the grid-cloud service through a special database. An example of the program usage to simulate a sufficiently general cloud structure, which can be used for more common purposes, is given.

The algorithm of the method for calculating quality classes’ boundaries for quantitative systems’ characteristics and for determination of interactions between characteristics. Part 1. Calculation for two quality classes
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 1, pp. 19-36Views (last year): 1. Citations: 6 (RSCI).A calculation method for boundaries of quality classes for quantitative systems characteristics of any nature is suggested. The method allows to determine interactions which are not detectable using correlation and regression analysis; quality classes’ boundaries of systems’ condition indicator and boundaries of the factors influencing this condition; contribution of the factors to a degree of «inadmissibility» of indicator values; sufficiency of the program observing the factors to describe the causes of «inadmissibility» of indicator values.

Improvement of the paired comparison method for implementation in computer programs used in assessment of technical systems’ quality
Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 6, pp. 1125-1135The article describes an improved paired comparison method, which systematizes in tables the rules of logical conclusions and formulas of checking indices for comparison of technical systems. To achieve this goal, the authors formulate rational rules of logical conclusions in making a paired comparison of the systems. In addition, for the purpose of consistency check of the results of the assessment, the authors introduce parameters such as «the number of scores gained by one system» and «systems’ quality index»; moreover, they design corresponding calculation formulas. For the purposes of practical application of this method to design computer programs, the authors propose to use formalized variants of interconnected tables: a table for processing and systematization of expert information, a table of possible logical conclusions based on the results of comparison of a set number of technical systems and a table of check values in the paired comparison method used in quality assessment of a definite number of technical systems. These tables allow one to organize procedures of the information processing in a more rational way and to predominantly exclude the influence of mistakes on the results of quality assessment of technical systems at the stage of data input. The main positive effect from the implementation of the paired comparison method is observed in a considerable reduction of time and resources needed to organize experts work, process expert information, and to prepare and conduct distant interviews with experts (on the Internet or a local computer network of an organization). This effect is achieved by a rational use of input data of the quality of the systems to be assessed. The proposed method is applied to computer programs used in assessing the effectiveness and stability of large technical systems.

The algorithm of the method for calculating quality classes’ boundaries for quantitative systems’ characteristics and for determination of interactions between characteristics. Part 2. Calculation for three or more quality classes
Computer Research and Modeling, 2016, v. 8, no. 1, pp. 37-54Views (last year): 4. Citations: 1 (RSCI).The method of calculation of the boundaries of quality classes for quantitative characteristics of systems with any properties is adapted to search for boundaries of three quality classes. In addition to other results, adaptation of the method allowed to determine boundaries between quality classes at simultaneous «unacceptability » of high and low values of indicator characteristic of the system condition and simultaneous «inadmissibility » of high and low values of factors affecting the system.

Conversion of the initial indices of the technological process of the smelting of steel for the subsequent simulation
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 2, pp. 187-199Views (last year): 6. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Efficiency of production directly depends on quality of the management of technology which, in turn, relies on the accuracy and efficiency of the processing of control and measuring information. Development of the mathematical methods of research of the system communications and regularities of functioning and creation of the mathematical models taking into account structural features of object of researches, and also writing of the software products for realization of these methods are an actual task. Practice has shown that the list of parameters that take place in the study of complex object of modern production, ranging from a few dozen to several hundred names, and the degree of influence of each factor in the initial time is not clear. Before working for the direct determination of the model in these circumstances, it is impossible — the amount of the required information may be too great, and most of the work on the collection of this information will be done in vain due to the fact that the degree of influence on the optimization of most factors of the original list would be negligible. Therefore, a necessary step in determining a model of a complex object is to work to reduce the dimension of the factor space. Most industrial plants are hierarchical group processes and mass volume production, characterized by hundreds of factors. (For an example of realization of the mathematical methods and the approbation of the constructed models data of the Moldavian steel works were taken in a basis.) To investigate the systemic linkages and patterns of functioning of such complex objects are usually chosen several informative parameters, and carried out their sampling. In this article the sequence of coercion of the initial indices of the technological process of the smelting of steel to the look suitable for creation of a mathematical model for the purpose of prediction is described. The implementations of new types became also creation of a basis for development of the system of automated management of quality of the production. In the course of weak correlation the following stages are selected: collection and the analysis of the basic data, creation of the table the correlated of the parameters, abbreviation of factor space by means of the correlative pleiads and a method of weight factors. The received results allow to optimize process of creation of the model of multiple-factor process.

Discrete simulation of the road restoration process
Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 6, pp. 1255-1268This work contains a description of the results of modeling the process of maintaining the readiness of a section of the road network under strikes of with specified parameters. A one-dimensional section of road up to 40 km long with a total number of strikes up to 100 during the work of the brigade is considered. A simulation model has been developed for carrying out work to maintain it in working condition by several groups (engineering teams) that are part of the engineering and road division. A multicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle is used to search for the points of appearance of obstacles. Life cycle schemes of the main participants of the tactical scene have been developed and an event-driven model of the tactical scene has been built. The format of the event log generated as a result of simulation modeling of the process of maintaining a road section is proposed. To visualize the process of maintaining the readiness of a road section, it is proposed to use visualization in the cyclogram format.
An XSL style has been developed for building a cyclogram based on an event log. As an algorithm for making a decision on the assignment of barriers to brigades, the simplest algorithm has been adopted, prescribing choosing the nearest barrier. A criterion describing the effectiveness of maintenance work on the site based on the assessment of the average speed of vehicles on the road section is proposed. Graphs of the dependence of the criterion value and the root-meansquare error depending on the length of the maintained section are plotted and an estimate is obtained for the maximum length of the road section maintained in a state of readiness with specified values for the selected quality indicator with specified characteristics of striking and performance of repair crews. The expediency of carrying out work to maintain readiness by several brigades that are part of the engineering and road division operating autonomously is shown.
The influence of the speed of the unmanned aerial vehicle on the ability to maintain the readiness of the road section is analyzed. The speed range for from 10 to 70 km/h is considered, which corresponds to the technical capabilities of multicoptertype reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles. The simulation results can be used as part of a complex simulation model of an army offensive or defensive operation and for solving the problem of optimizing the assignment of tasks to maintain the readiness of road sections to engineering and road brigades. The proposed approach may be of interest for the development of military-oriented strategy games.

Solving traveling salesman problem via clustering and a new algorithm for merging tours
Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 1, pp. 45-58Traditional methods for solving the traveling salesman problem are not effective for high-dimensional problems due to their high computational complexity. One of the most effective ways to solve this problem is the decomposition approach, which includes three main stages: clustering vertices, solving subproblems within each cluster and then merging the obtained solutions into a final solution. This article focuses on the third stage — merging cycles of solving subproblems — since this stage is not always given sufficient attention, which leads to less accurate final solutions of the problem. The paper proposes a new modified Sigal algorithm for merging cycles. To evaluate its effectiveness, it is compared with two algorithms for merging cycles — the method of connecting midpoints of edges and an algorithm based on closeness of cluster centroids. The dependence of quality of solving subproblems on algorithms used for merging cycles is investigated. Sigal’s modified algorithm performs pairwise clustering and minimizes total distance. The centroid method focuses on connecting clusters based on closeness of centroids, and an algorithm using mid-points estimates the distance between mid-points of edges. Two types of clustering — k-means and affinity propagation — were also considered. Numerical experiments were performed using the TSPLIB dataset with different numbers of cities and topologies to test effectiveness of proposed algorithm. The study analyzes errors caused by the order in which clusters were merged, the quality of solving subtasks and number of clusters. Experiments show that the modified Sigal algorithm has the smallest median final distance and the most stable results compared to other methods. Results indicate that the quality of the final solution obtained using the modified Sigal algorithm is more stable depending on the sequence of merging clusters. Improving the quality of solving subproblems usually results in linear improvement of the final solution, but the pooling algorithm rarely affects the degree of this improvement.

Model of assimilation potential in lake ecosystem on the example of biogenic pollutants
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 6, pp. 1447-1465A model of biogeochemical cycles for nutrient transformation in the ecosystem of a water body has been developed using the example of the Lake Teletskoye (TL) to assess its assimilation potential in the absence of direct measurements for total nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations, instead of which the corresponding simulated data. The validity is justified by checking the adequacy of the simulation results to the data of average monthly long-term observations for all variables of the state for model. The model was calibrated with taking into account data from observations of water quality in 1985–2003, as well as a scenario version of the hydrological regime in 2016. The analysis of the intra-annual changeability of state variables, nitrogen and phosphorus inputs and outputs in TL water is given. The preliminary values of the permissible load N and P on the lake is accessed. The model analysis showed that the lake has practically no assimilation potential with respect to phosphorus compounds. The corresponding values of concentrations are equal to: Ptot. = 0.013 gP/m3, which is equal to the average annual content over the period of 18-year observations. The threshold content of Ntot. = 0.895 gN/m3. The assimilation potential for nitrogen is small, within the second significant digit after the decimal point, bearing in mind that its simulated average annual value is 0.836 gN/m3. The results of simulation indicate that the TL waters, due to the low water temperatures, along with their unique purity, differ in an extremely poorly developed community of hydrobionts. In the case of other lakes, the increase of anthropogenic pressure could be mitigated by utilization due to the vital activity of sufficiently developed hydrobionts communities. Here, there is no sufficient self-purification resource, and a relatively small increase in anthropogenic load can lead to a violation of the sustainability.
