Identification of the author of the text by segmentation method
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 5, pp. 1199-1210

The paper describes a method for recognizing authors of literary texts by the proximity of fragments into which a separate text is divided to the standard of the author. The standard is the empirical frequency distribution of letter combinations, built on a training sample, which included expertly selected reliably known works of this author. A set of standards of different authors forms a library, within which the problem of identifying the author of an unknown text is solved. The proximity between texts is understood in the sense of the norm in L1 for the frequency vector of letter combinations, which is constructed for each fragment and for the text as a whole. The author of an unknown text is assigned the one whose standard is most often chosen as the closest for the set of fragments into which the text is divided. The length of the fragment is optimized based on the principle of the maximum difference in distances from fragments to standards in the problem of recognition of «friend–foe». The method was tested on the corpus of domestic and foreign (translated) authors. 1783 texts of 100 authors with a total volume of about 700 million characters were collected. In order to exclude the bias in the selection of authors, authors whose surnames began with the same letter were considered. In particular, for the letter L, the identification error was 12%. Along with a fairly high accuracy, this method has another important property: it allows you to estimate the probability that the standard of the author of the text in question is missing in the library. This probability can be estimated based on the results of the statistics of the nearest standards for small fragments of text. The paper also examines statistical digital portraits of writers: these are joint empirical distributions of the probability that a certain proportion of the text is identified at a given level of trust. The practical importance of these statistics is that the carriers of the corresponding distributions practically do not overlap for their own and other people’s standards, which makes it possible to recognize the reference distribution of letter combinations at a high level of confidence.

Numerical simulation of fluid flow in a blood pump in the FlowVision software package
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2023, v. 15, no. 4, pp. 1025-1038

A numerical simulation of fluid flow in a blood pump was performed using the FlowVision software package. This test problem, provided by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health of the US. Food and Drug Administration, involved considering fluid flow according to several design modes. At the same time for each case of calculation a certain value of liquid flow rate and rotor speed was set. Necessary data for calculations in the form of exact geometry, flow conditions and fluid characteristics were provided to all research participants, who used different software packages for modeling. Numerical simulations were performed in FlowVision for six calculation modes with the Newtonian fluid and standard $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model, in addition, the fifth mode with the $k-\omega$ SST turbulence model and with the Caro rheological fluid model were performed. In the first stage of the numerical simulation, the convergence over the mesh was investigated, on the basis of which a final mesh with a number of cells of the order of 6 million was chosen. Due to the large number of cells, in order to accelerate the study, part of the calculations was performed on the Lomonosov-2 cluster. As a result of numerical simulation, we obtained and analyzed values of pressure difference between inlet and outlet of the pump, velocity between rotor blades and in the area of diffuser, and also, we carried out visualization of velocity distribution in certain cross-sections. For all design modes there was compared the pressure difference received numerically with the experimental data, and for the fifth calculation mode there was also compared with the experiment by speed distribution between rotor blades and in the area of diffuser. Data analysis has shown good correlation of calculation results in FlowVision with experimental results and numerical simulation in other software packages. The results obtained in FlowVision for solving the US FDA test suggest that FlowVision software package can be used for solving a wide range of hemodynamic problems.

Comparative analysis of statistical methods of scientific publications classification in medicine
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 4, pp. 921-933

In this paper the various methods of machine classification of scientific texts by thematic sections on the example of publications in specialized medical journals published by Springer are compared. The corpus of texts was studied in five sections: pharmacology/toxicology, cardiology, immunology, neurology and oncology. We considered both classification methods based on the analysis of annotations and keywords, and classification methods based on the processing of actual texts. Methods of Bayesian classification, reference vectors, and reference letter combinations were applied. It is shown that the method of classification with the best accuracy is based on creating a library of standards of letter trigrams that correspond to texts of a certain subject. It is turned out that for this corpus the Bayesian method gives an error of about 20%, the support vector machine has error of order 10%, and the proximity of the distribution of three-letter text to the standard theme gives an error of about 5%, which allows to rank these methods to the use of artificial intelligence in the task of text classification by industry specialties. It is important that the support vector method provides the same accuracy when analyzing annotations as when analyzing full texts, which is important for reducing the number of operations for large text corpus.

Personalization of mathematical models in cardiology: obstacles and perspectives
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 4, pp. 911-930

Most biomechanical tasks of interest to clinicians can be solved only using personalized mathematical models. Such models allow to formalize and relate key pathophysiological processes, basing on clinically available data evaluate non-measurable parameters that are important for the diagnosis of diseases, predict the result of a therapeutic or surgical intervention. The use of models in clinical practice imposes additional restrictions: clinicians require model validation on clinical cases, the speed and automation of the entire calculated technological chain, from processing input data to obtaining a result. Limitations on the simulation time, determined by the time of making a medical decision (of the order of several minutes), imply the use of reduction methods that correctly describe the processes under study within the framework of reduced models or machine learning tools.

Personalization of models requires patient-oriented parameters, personalized geometry of a computational domain and generation of a computational mesh. Model parameters are estimated by direct measurements, or methods of solving inverse problems, or methods of machine learning. The requirement of personalization imposes severe restrictions on the number of fitted parameters that can be measured under standard clinical conditions. In addition to parameters, the model operates with boundary conditions that must take into account the patient’s characteristics. Methods for setting personalized boundary conditions significantly depend on the clinical setting of the problem and clinical data. Building a personalized computational domain through segmentation of medical images and generation of the computational grid, as a rule, takes a lot of time and effort due to manual or semi-automatic operations. Development of automated methods for setting personalized boundary conditions and segmentation of medical images with the subsequent construction of a computational grid is the key to the widespread use of mathematical modeling in clinical practice.

The aim of this work is to review our solutions for personalization of mathematical models within the framework of three tasks of clinical cardiology: virtual assessment of hemodynamic significance of coronary artery stenosis, calculation of global blood flow after hemodynamic correction of complex heart defects, calculating characteristics of coaptation of reconstructed aortic valve.

Changepoint detection on financial data using deep learning approach
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 2, pp. 555-575

The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for change points detection in time series, including financial data. The theoretical basis of the study is based on the pieces of research devoted to the analysis of structural changes in financial markets, description of the proposed algorithms for detecting change points and peculiarities of building classical and deep machine learning models for solving this type of problems. The development of such tools is of interest to investors and other stakeholders, providing them with additional approaches to the effective analysis of financial markets and interpretation of available data.

To address the research objective, a neural network was trained. In the course of the study several ways of training sample formation were considered, differing in the nature of statistical parameters. In order to improve the quality of training and obtain more accurate results, a methodology for feature generation was developed for the formation of features that serve as input data for the neural network. These features, in turn, were derived from an analysis of mathematical expectations and standard deviations of time series data over specific intervals. The potential for combining these features to achieve more stable results is also under investigation.

The results of model experiments were analyzed to compare the effectiveness of the proposed model with other existing changepoint detection algorithms that have gained widespread usage in practical applications. A specially generated dataset, developed using proprietary methods, was utilized as both training and testing data. Furthermore, the model, trained on various features, was tested on daily data from the S&P 500 index to assess its effectiveness in a real financial context.

As the principles of the model’s operation are described, possibilities for its further improvement are considered, including the modernization of the proposed model’s structure, optimization of training data generation, and feature formation. Additionally, the authors are tasked with advancing existing concepts for real-time changepoint detection.

Theoretical modeling consensus building in the work of standardization technical committees in coalitions based on regular Markov chains
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 5, pp. 1247-1256

Often decisions in social groups are made by consensus. This applies, for example, to the examination in the technical committee for standardization (TC) before the approval of the national standard by Rosstandart. The standard is approved if and only if the secured consensus in the TC. The same approach to standards development was adopted in almost all countries and at the regional and international level. Previously published works of authors dedicated to the construction of a mathematical model of time to reach consensus in technical committees for standardization in terms of variation in the number of TC members and their level of authoritarianism. The present study is a continuation of these works for the case of the formation of coalitions that are often formed during the consideration of the draft standard to the TC. In the article the mathematical model is constructed to ensure consensus on the work of technical standardization committees in terms of coalitions. In the framework of the model it is shown that in the presence of coalitions consensus is not achievable. However, the coalition, as a rule, are overcome during the negotiation process, otherwise the number of the adopted standards would be extremely small. This paper analyzes the factors that influence the bridging coalitions: the value of the assignment and an index of the effect of the coalition. On the basis of statistical modelling of regular Markov chains is investigated their effects on the time to ensure consensus in the technical Committee. It is proved that the time to reach consensus significantly depends on the value of unilateral concessions coalition and weakly depends on the size of coalitions. Built regression model of dependence of the average number of approvals from the value of the assignment. It was revealed that even a small concession leads to the onset of consensus, increasing the size of the assignment results (with other factors being equal) to a sharp decline in time before the consensus. It is shown that the assignment of a larger coalition against small coalitions takes on average more time before consensus. The result has practical value for all organizational structures, where the emergence of coalitions entails the inability of decision-making in the framework of consensus and requires the consideration of various methods for reaching a consensus decision.

OpenCL realization of some many-body potentials
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 549-558

Modeling of carbon nanostructures by means of classical molecular dynamics requires a lot of computations. One of the ways to improve the performance of basic algorithms is to transform them for running on SIMD-type computing systems such as systems with dedicated GPU. In this work we describe the development of algorithms for computation of many-body interaction based on Tersoff and embedded-atom potentials by means of OpenCL technology. OpenCL standard provides universality and portability of the algorithms and can be successfully used for development of the software for heterogeneous computing systems. The performance of algorithms is evaluated on CPU and GPU hardware platforms. It is shown that concurrent memory writes is effective for Tersoff bond order potential. The same approach for embedded-atom potential is shown to be slower than algorithm without concurrent memory access. Performance evaluation shows a significant GPU acceleration of energy-force evaluation algorithms for many-body potentials in comparison to the corresponding serial implementations.

Modeling of behavior of the option. The formulation of the problem
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2015, v. 7, no. 3, pp. 759-766

Object of research: The creation of algorithm for mass computations of options‘ price for formation of a riskless portfolio. The method is based on the generalization of the Black–Scholes method. The task is the modeling of behavior of all options and tools for their insurance. This task is characterized by large volume of realtime complex computations that should be executed concurrently The problem of the research: depending on conditions approaches to the solution should be various. There are three methods which can be used with different conditions: the finite difference method, the path-integral approach and methods which work in conditions of trade stop. Distributed computating in these three cases is organized differently and it is necessary to involve various approaches. In addition to complexity the mathematical formulation of the problem in literature is not quite correct. There is no complete description of boundary and initial conditions and also several hypotheses of the model do not correspond to real market. It is necessary to give mathematically correct formulation of the task, and to neutralize a difference between hypotheses of the model and their prototypes in the market. For this purpose it is necessary to expand standard formulation by additional methods and develop methods of realization for each of solution branches.
