An investigation of an action potential propagation in vascular plant using FitzHugh-Nagumo model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 77-84

A two-dimensional system of excitable cells, describing by the FitzHugh-Nagumo model, has been used for a theoretical investigation of an action potential propagation (AP) in vascular plant tissues. It is shown that growth of electrical conductivity between cells increases the AP generation threshold and its propagation velocity in the homogeneous system, which has been formed by equal elements. The plant symplast has been
described by the heterogeneous system, including elements with low electrical conductivity, which simulate parenchyma cells, and elements with high electrical conductivity, which simulate sieve elements. Analysis of this system shows that the threshold of the AP generation is similar with this threshold in the homogeneous system
with low electrical conductivity; the velocity of the AP propagation is faster than one in this system.

The computer analysis of primary structures for inulinases from various producers
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 1, pp. 85-92

It is shown that the basic amount of homologous parts at inulinases from various species is presented by Gln, Asn and Glu residues. Carboxyl groups of Asp and Glu side chains (a part of active center of inulinase) can play the role of contact groups for substrate molecules and also carry out acid-base catalysis. Comparison of primary structures of inulinases has shown that frequency of residue substitution is very variable along the polypeptide chain. The phylogenetic tree of inulinases from various sources is constructed. It is revealed that high homology degree is characteristic for enzymes from Aspergillus awamori, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus ficuum. Rather small relation degree is shown for endo- and exo-inulinases.

Efficient method of the transport equation calculation in 2D cylindrical and 3D hexagonal geometries for quasi-diffusion method
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 3, pp. 279-286

Efficient method for numerical solving of the steady transport equation in x-y-z-geometry has been suggested. The equation is being solved on hexagonal mesh, reflecting real structure of the reactor active zone cross-section. Method of characteristics is used, that inherits all the outcomes from the two-dimensional r-z-geometry calculation. Two variants of the method of characteristics have been applied for solving the transport equation in a cell: method of short characteristics and its conservative modification. It has been confirmed that in three-dimensional geometry conservative method has advantage over pure characteristic and it produces highly accurate solution, especially for quasi-diffusion tensor components.

  4. The solution of problems of heat conductivity by means of a method of continuous asynchronous cellular automats is considered in the article. Coordination of distribution of temperature in a sample at a given time between cellular automat model and the exact analytical solution of the equation of heattransfer is shown that speaks about expedient use of this method of modelling. Dependence between time of one cellular automatic interaction and dimension of a cellular automatic field is received.

Analysis of simplifications of numerical schemes for Langevin equation, effect of variations in the correlation of augmentations
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 2, pp. 325-338

The possibility to simplify the integration of Langevin equation using the variation of correlation between augmentation was researched. The analytical expression for a set of numerical schemes is presented. It’s shown that asymptotic limits for squared velocity depend on step size. The region of convergence and the convergence orders were estimated. It turned out that the incorrect correlation between increments decrease the accuracy down to the level of first-order methods for schemes based on precise solution.

On the investigation of plasma turbulence by the analysis of the spectra
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 793-802

The article describes the examples of the analysis of the experimental data spectra for identifying typical structures of processes forming plasma turbulence. The method is based on the original algorithm which is close to the one-sample bootstrap. The base model for description of the fine structure of stochastic processes is finite local-scale normal mixtures. For finding the statistical estimates (maximum likelihood estimates) well known EM algorithm is used. The efficiency of the proposed research technique is demonstrated for a number of spectra’s set obtained in different modes of low-frequency plasma turbulence.

    Topological basis of ECG classification
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2012, v. 4, no. 4, pp. 895-915

A new approach to the identification of hardly perceptible diagnostically significant changes in electrocardiograms is suggested. The approach is based on the analysis of topological transformations in wavelet spectra associated with electrocardiograms. Possible practical application of the approach developed is discussed.

Mathematical modeling of stochastic equilibria and business cycles of Goodwin model
    Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 1, pp. 107-118

The Goodwin dynamical model under the random external disturbances is considered. A full parametrical analysis for equlibria and cycles of deterministic model is developed. We study probabilistic properties of stochastic attractors using stochastic sensitivity functions technique and numerical methods. A phenomenon of the generation of stochastic business cycles in the zones of stable equilibria is discussed.

  9. Microarray datasets are highly dimensional, with a small number of collected samples in comparison to thousands of features. This poses a significant challenge that affects the interpretation, applicability and validation of the analytical results. Matrix factorizations have proven to be a useful method for describing data in terms of a small number of meta-features, which reduces noise, while still capturing the essential features of the data. Three novel and mutually relevant methods are presented in this paper: 1) gradient-based matrix factorization with two adaptive learning rates (in accordance with the number of factor matrices) and their automatic updates; 2) nonparametric criterion for the selection of the number of factors; and 3) nonnegative version of the gradient-based matrix factorization which doesn't require any extra computational costs in difference to the existing methods. We demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed methods to the supervised classification of gene expression data.

The nonstationary mathematical model of galvanic process, which considers change concentrations of electrolyte components, is developed.
