Using collective of agents for exploration of graph
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 525-532Problem of exploration finite undirected graphs by a collective of agents is considered in this work. Two agents-researchers simultaneously move on graph, they read and change marks of graph elements, transfer the information to the agent-experimenter (it builds explored graph representation). It was constructed an algorithm linear (from amount of the graph’s nodes) time complexity, quadratic space complexity and communication complexity, that is equal to O(n2·log(n)). Two agents (which move on graph) need two different colors (in total three colors) for graph exploration. An algorithm is based on depth-first traversal method.

On the efficiency of the maximum cross section method in radiation transport theory
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 573-582Views (last year): 4. Citations: 2 (RSCI).We consider two versions of the maximum cross section method for the solutions of the stationary equation of radiative transfer in dimensional inhomogeneous medium. Both are based on the application Monte-Carlo method to the summation of the Neumann series for the solution transport equation. First modification is traditional and second is based on the use of branching Markov chains. We carried out numerical comparison of these algorithms.

The optimization approach to simulation modeling of microstructures
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 597-606Views (last year): 4. Citations: 7 (RSCI).The paper presents an optimization approach to microstructure simulation. Porosity function was optimized by numerical method, grain-size model was optimized by complex method based on criteria of model quality. Methods have been validated on examples. Presented new regression model of model quality. Actual application of proposed method is 3D reconstruction of core sample microstructure. Presented results suggest to prolongation of investigations.

Numerical modeling of flows with flow swirling
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 635-648Views (last year): 4. Citations: 2 (RSCI).This paper is devoted to investigation of the swirl flows. Such flows are widely used in various industrial processes. Swirl flows can be accompanied by time-dependent effects, for example, precession of the vortex core. In turn, the large-scale fluctuations due to the precession of the vortex can cause damage of structures and reduce of equipment reliability. Thus, for engineering calculations approaches that sufficiently well described such flows are required. This paper presents the technique of swirl flows calculation, tested for CFD packages Fluent and SigmaFlow. A numerical simulation of several swirl flow test problems was carried out. Obtained results are compared with each other and with the experimental data.

Calculation of magnetic properties of nanostructured films by means of the parallel Monte-Carlo
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 4, pp. 693-703Views (last year): 4. Citations: 1 (RSCI).Images of surface topography of ultrathin magnetic films have been used for Monte Carlo simulations in the framework of the ferromagnetic Ising model to study the hysteresis and thermal properties of nanomaterials. For high performance calculations was used super-scalable parallel algorithm for the finding of the equilibrium configuration. The changing of a distribution of spins on the surface during the reversal of the magnetization and the dynamics of nanodomain structure of thin magnetic films under the influence of changing external magnetic field was investigated.

The long-term empirical macro model of world dynamics
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 5, pp. 883-891Views (last year): 4. Citations: 3 (RSCI).The work discusses the methodological basis and problems of modeling of world dynamics. Outlines approaches to the construction of a new simulation model of global development and the results of the simulation. The basis of the model building is laid empirical approach which based on the statistical analysis of the main socio-economic indicators. On the basis of this analysis identified the main variables. Dynamic equations (in continuous differential form) were written for these variables. Dependencies between variables were selected based on the dynamics of indicators in the past and on the basis of expert assessments, while econometric techniques were used, based on regression analysis. Calculations have been performed for the resulting dynamic equations system, the results are presented in the form of a trajectories beam for those indicators that are directly observable, and for which statistics are available. Thus, it is possible to assess the scatter of the trajectories and understand the predictive capability of this model.

Simulation of asteroid braking in the Earth atmosphere
Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 6, pp. 917-926Views (last year): 4. Citations: 2 (RSCI).This article is investigated phenomenon of asteroid braking in neighborhood Chelyabinsk. Simulation of trajectory and asteroid basic parameters is accomplished on the basis of not numerous fixed video film and measurements. Calculation of hypersonic flow around asteroid is carried out before and after asteroid collapse. Possible version of asteroids synchronous braking is discussed. Trajectory data and gas dynamic functions are presented as data for definition of asteroid collapse.

Computer Research and Modeling, 2013, v. 5, no. 6, pp. 927-940Views (last year): 4. Citations: 7 (RSCI).We study the motion and destruction of Chelyabinsk meteoroid using simple physical and mathematical models. We evaluate the parameters of the motion, taking into account the ablation and mechanical destruction of the meteoroid, and compare our results to the observation data.

Parallel implementation of a finite-element algorithms on a graphics accelerator in the software package FEStudio
Computer Research and Modeling, 2014, v. 6, no. 1, pp. 79-97Views (last year): 4. Citations: 24 (RSCI).In this paper, we present new parallel algorithms for finite element analysis implemented in the FEStudio software framework. We describe the programming model of finite element method, which supports parallelism on different stages of numerical simulations. Using this model, we develop parallel algorithms of numerical integration for dynamic problems and local stiffness matrices. For constructing and solving the systems of equations, we use the CUDA programming platform.
