Dissipative Stochastic Dynamic Model of Language Signs Evolution
Computer Research and Modeling, 2011, v. 3, no. 2, pp. 103-124Views (last year): 1. Citations: 6 (RSCI).We offer the dissipative stochastic dynamic model of the language sign evolution, satisfying to the principle of the least action, one of fundamental variational principles of the Nature. The model conjectures the Poisson nature of the birth flow of language signs and the exponential distribution of their associative-semantic potential (ASP). The model works with stochastic difference equations of the special type for dissipative processes. The equation for momentary polysemy distribution and frequency-rank distribution drawn from our model do not differs significantly (by Kolmogorov-Smirnov’s test) from empirical distributions, got from main Russian and English explanatory dictionaries as well as frequency dictionaries of them.

Development of network computational models for the study of nonlinear wave processes on graphs
Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 5, pp. 777-814In various applications arise problems modeled by nonlinear partial differential equations on graphs (networks, trees). In order to study such problems and various extreme situations arose in the problems of designing and optimizing networks developed the computational model based on solving the corresponding boundary problems for partial differential equations of hyperbolic type on graphs (networks, trees). As applications, three different problems were chosen solved in the framework of the general approach of network computational models. The first was modeling of traffic flow. In solving this problem, a macroscopic approach was used in which the transport flow is described by a nonlinear system of second-order hyperbolic equations. The results of numerical simulations showed that the model developed as part of the proposed approach well reproduces the real situation various sections of the Moscow transport network on significant time intervals and can also be used to select the most optimal traffic management strategy in the city. The second was modeling of data flows in computer networks. In this problem data flows of various connections in packet data network were simulated as some continuous medium flows. Conceptual and mathematical network models are proposed. The numerical simulation was carried out in comparison with the NS-2 network simulation system. The results showed that in comparison with the NS-2 packet model the developed streaming model demonstrates significant savings in computing resources while ensuring a good level of similarity and allows us to simulate the behavior of complex globally distributed IP networks. The third was simulation of the distribution of gas impurities in ventilation networks. It was developed the computational mathematical model for the propagation of finely dispersed or gas impurities in ventilation networks using the gas dynamics equations by numerical linking of regions of different sizes. The calculations shown that the model with good accuracy allows to determine the distribution of gas-dynamic parameters in the pipeline network and solve the problems of dynamic ventilation management.

Global limit cycle bifurcations of a polynomial Euler–Lagrange–Liénard system
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 4, pp. 693-705In this paper, using our bifurcation-geometric approach, we study global dynamics and solve the problem of the maximum number and distribution of limit cycles (self-oscillating regimes corresponding to states of dynamical equilibrium) in a planar polynomial mechanical system of the Euler–Lagrange–Liйnard type. Such systems are also used to model electrical, ecological, biomedical and other systems, which greatly facilitates the study of the corresponding real processes and systems with complex internal dynamics. They are used, in particular, in mechanical systems with damping and stiffness. There are a number of examples of technical systems that are described using quadratic damping in second-order dynamical models. In robotics, for example, quadratic damping appears in direct-coupled control and in nonlinear devices, such as variable impedance (resistance) actuators. Variable impedance actuators are of particular interest to collaborative robotics. To study the character and location of singular points in the phase plane of the Euler–Lagrange–Liйnard polynomial system, we use our method the meaning of which is to obtain the simplest (well-known) system by vanishing some parameters (usually, field rotation parameters) of the original system and then to enter sequentially these parameters studying the dynamics of singular points in the phase plane. To study the singular points of the system, we use the classical Poincarй index theorems, as well as our original geometric approach based on the application of the Erugin twoisocline method which is especially effective in the study of infinite singularities. Using the obtained information on the singular points and applying canonical systems with field rotation parameters, as well as using the geometric properties of the spirals filling the internal and external regions of the limit cycles and applying our geometric approach to qualitative analysis, we study limit cycle bifurcations of the system under consideration.

Methods for resolving the Braess paradox in the presence of autonomous vehicles
Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 2, pp. 281-294Roads are a shared resource which can be used either by drivers and autonomous vehicles. Since the total number of vehicles increases annually, each considered vehicle spends more time in traffic jams, and thus the total travel time prolongs. The main purpose while planning the road system is to reduce the time spent on traveling. The optimization of transportation networks is a current goal, thus the formation of traffic flows by creating certain ligaments of the roads is of high importance. The Braess paradox states the existence of a network where the construction of a new edge leads to the increase of traveling time. The objective of this paper is to propose various solutions to the Braess paradox in the presence of autonomous vehicles. One of the methods of solving transportation topology problems is to introduce artificial restrictions on traffic. As an example of such restrictions, this article considers designated lanes which are available only for a certain type of vehicles. Designated lanes have their own location in the network and operating conditions. This article observes the most common two-roads traffic situations, analyzes them using analytical and numerical methods and presents the model of optimal traffic flow distribution, which considers different ways of lanes designation on isolated transportation networks. It was found that the modeling of designated lanes eliminates Braess’ paradox and optimizes the total traveling time. The solutions were shown on artificial networks and on the real-life example. A modeling algorithm for Braess network was proposed and its correctness was verified using the real-life example.

Quantile shape measures for heavy-tailed distributions
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 5, pp. 1041-1077Currently, journal papers contain numerous examples of the use of heavy-tailed distributions for applied research on various complex systems. Models of extreme data are usually limited to a small set of distribution shapes that in this field of applied research historically been used. It is possible to increase the composition of the set of probability distributions shapes through comparing the measures of the distribution shapes and choosing the most suitable implementations. The example of a beta distribution of the second kind shown that the lack of definability of the moments of heavy-tailed implementations of the beta family of distributions limits the applicability of the existing classical methods of moments for studying the distributions shapes when are characterized heavy tails. For this reason, the development of new methods for comparing distributions based on quantile shape measures free from the restrictions on the shape parameters remains relevant study the possibility of constructing a space of quantile measures of shapes for comparing distributions with heavy tails. The operation purpose consists in computer research of creation possibility of space of the quantile’s measures for the comparing of distributions property with heavy tails. On the basis of computer simulation there the distributions implementations in measures space of shapes were been shown. Mapping distributions in space only of the parametrical measures of shapes has shown that the imposition of regions for heavy tails distribution made impossible compare the shape of distributions belonging to different type in the space of quantile measures of skewness and kurtosis. It is well known that shape information measures such as entropy and entropy uncertainty interval contain additional information about the shape measure of heavy-tailed distributions. In this paper, a quantile entropy coefficient is proposed as an additional independent measure of shape, which is based on the ratio of entropy and quantile uncertainty intervals. Also estimates of quantile entropy coefficients are obtained for a number of well-known heavy-tailed distributions. The possibility of comparing the distributions shapes with realizations of the beta distribution of the second kind is illustrated by the example of the lognormal distribution and the Pareto distribution. Due to mapping the position of stable distributions in the three-dimensional space of quantile measures of shapes estimate made it possible the shape parameters to of the beta distribution of the second kind, for which shape is closest to the Lévy shape. From the paper material it follows that the display of distributions in the three-dimensional space of quantile measures of the forms of skewness, kurtosis and entropy coefficient significantly expands the possibility of comparing the forms for distributions with heavy tails.

Multi-agent local voting protocol for online DAG scheduling
Computer Research and Modeling, 2025, v. 17, no. 1, pp. 29-44Scheduling computational workflows represented by directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) is crucial in many areas of computer science, such as cloud/edge tasks with distributed workloads and data mining. The complexity of online DAG scheduling is compounded by the large number of computational nodes, data transfer delays, heterogeneity (by type and processing power) of executors, precedence constraints imposed by DAG, and the nonuniform arrival of tasks. This paper introduces the Multi-Agent Local Voting Protocol (MLVP), a novel approach focused on dynamic load balancing for DAG scheduling in heterogeneous computing environments, where executors are represented as agents. The MLVP employs a local voting protocol to achieve effective load distribution by formulating the problem as a differentiated consensus achievement. The algorithm calculates an aggregated DAG metric for each executor-node pair based on node dependencies, node availability, and executor performance. The balance of these metrics as a weighted sum is optimized using a genetic algorithm to assign tasks probabilistically, achieving efficient workload distribution via information sharing and reaching consensus among the executors across the system and thus improving makespan. The effectiveness of the MLVP is demonstrated through comparisons with the state-of-the-art DAG scheduling algorithm and popular heuristics such as DONF, FIFO, Min- Min, and Max-Min. Numerical simulations show that MLVP achieves makepsan improvements of up to 70% on specific graph topologies and an average makespan reduction of 23.99% over DONF (state-of-the-art DAG scheduling heuristic) across randomly generated diverse set of DAGs. Notably, the algorithm’s scalability is evidenced by enhanced performance with increasing numbers of executors and graph nodes.

Development of anisotropic nonlinear noise-reduction algorithm for computed tomography data with context dynamic threshold
Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 2, pp. 233-248Views (last year): 21.The article deals with the development of the noise-reduction algorithm based on anisotropic nonlinear data filtering of computed tomography (CT). Analysis of domestic and foreign literature has shown that the most effective algorithms for noise reduction of CT data use complex methods for analyzing and processing data, such as bilateral, adaptive, three-dimensional and other types of filtrations. However, a combination of such techniques is rarely used in practice due to long processing time per slice. In this regard, it was decided to develop an efficient and fast algorithm for noise-reduction based on simplified bilateral filtration method with three-dimensional data accumulation. The algorithm was developed on C ++11 programming language in Microsoft Visual Studio 2015. The main difference of the developed noise reduction algorithm is the use an improved mathematical model of CT noise, based on the distribution of Poisson and Gauss from the logarithmic value, developed earlier by our team. This allows a more accurate determination of the noise level and, thus, the threshold of data processing. As the result of the noise reduction algorithm, processed CT data with lower noise level were obtained. Visual evaluation of the data showed the increased information content of the processed data, compared to original data, the clarity of the mapping of homogeneous regions, and a significant reduction in noise in processing areas. Assessing the numerical results of the algorithm showed a decrease in the standard deviation (SD) level by more than 6 times in the processed areas, and high rates of the determination coefficient showed that the data were not distorted and changed only due to the removal of noise. Usage of newly developed context dynamic threshold made it possible to decrease SD level on every area of data. The main difference of the developed threshold is its simplicity and speed, achieved by preliminary estimation of the data array and derivation of the threshold values that are put in correspondence with each pixel of the CT. The principle of its work is based on threshold criteria, which fits well both into the developed noise reduction algorithm based on anisotropic nonlinear filtration, and another algorithm of noise-reduction. The algorithm successfully functions as part of the MultiVox workstation and is being prepared for implementation in a single radiological network of the city of Moscow.

Road network infrastructure is the basis of any urban area. This article compares the structural characteristics (meshedness coefficient, clustering coefficient) road networks of Moscow center (Old Moscow), formed as a result of self-organization and roads near Leninsky Prospekt (postwar Moscow), which was result of cetralized planning. Data for the construction of road networks in the form of graphs taken from the Internet resource OpenStreetMap, allowing to accurately identify the coordinates of the intersections. According to the characteristics of the calculated Moscow road networks areas the cities with road network which have a similar structure to the two Moscow areas was found in foreign publications. Using the dual representation of road networks of centers of Moscow and St. Petersburg, studied the information and cognitive features of navigation in these tourist areas of the two capitals. In the construction of the dual graph of the studied areas were not taken into account the different types of roads (unidirectional or bi-directional traffic, etc), that is built dual graphs are undirected. Since the road network in the dual representation are described by a power law distribution of vertices on the number of edges (scale-free networks), exponents of these distributions were calculated. It is shown that the information complexity of the dual graph of the center of Moscow exceeds the cognitive threshold 8.1 bits, and the same feature for the center of St. Petersburg below this threshold, because the center of St. Petersburg road network was created on the basis of planning and therefore more easy to navigate. In conclusion, using the methods of statistical mechanics (the method of calculating the partition functions) for the road network of some Russian cities the Gibbs entropy were calculated. It was found that with the road network size increasing their entropy decreases. We discuss the problem of studying the evolution of urban infrastructure networks of different nature (public transport, supply , communication networks, etc.), which allow us to more deeply explore and understand the fundamental laws of urbanization.

Origin and growth of the disorder within an ordered state of the spatially extended chemical reaction model
Computer Research and Modeling, 2017, v. 9, no. 4, pp. 595-607Views (last year): 7.We now review the main points of mean-field approximation (MFA) in its application to multicomponent stochastic reaction-diffusion systems.
We present the chemical reaction model under study — brusselator. We write the kinetic equations of reaction supplementing them with terms that describe the diffusion of the intermediate components and the fluctuations of the concentrations of the initial products. We simulate the fluctuations as random Gaussian homogeneous and spatially isotropic fields with zero means and spatial correlation functions with a non-trivial structure. The model parameter values correspond to a spatially-inhomogeneous ordered state in the deterministic case.
In the MFA we derive single-site two-dimensional nonlinear self-consistent Fokker–Planck equation in the Stratonovich's interpretation for spatially extended stochastic brusselator, which describes the dynamics of probability distribution density of component concentration values of the system under consideration. We find the noise intensity values appropriate to two types of Fokker–Planck equation solutions: solution with transient bimodality and solution with the multiple alternation of unimodal and bimodal types of probability density. We study numerically the probability density dynamics and time behavior of variances, expectations, and most probable values of component concentrations at various noise intensity values and the bifurcation parameter in the specified region of the problem parameters.
Beginning from some value of external noise intensity inside the ordered phase disorder originates existing for a finite time, and the higher the noise level, the longer this disorder “embryo” lives. The farther away from the bifurcation point, the lower the noise that generates it and the narrower the range of noise intensity values at which the system evolves to the ordered, but already a new statistically steady state. At some second noise intensity value the intermittency of the ordered and disordered phases occurs. The increasing noise intensity leads to the fact that the order and disorder alternate increasingly.
Thus, the scenario of the noise induced order–disorder transition in the system under study consists in the intermittency of the ordered and disordered phases.
