Method for processing acoustic emission testing data to define signal velocity and location
Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 5, pp. 1029-1040Non-destructive acoustic emission testing is an effective and cost-efficient way to examine pressure vessels for hidden defects (cracks, laminations etc.), as well as the only method that is sensitive to developing defects. The sound velocity in the test object and its adequate definition in the location scheme are of paramount importance for the accurate detection of the acoustic emission source. The acoustic emission data processing method proposed herein comprises a set of numerical methods and allows defining the source coordinates and the most probable velocity for each signal. The method includes pre-filtering of data by amplitude, by time differences, elimination of electromagnetic interference. Further, a set of numerical methods is applied to them to solve the system of nonlinear equations, in particular, the Newton – Kantorovich method and the general iterative process. The velocity of a signal from one source is assumed as a constant in all directions. As the initial approximation is taken the center of gravity of the triangle formed by the first three sensors that registered the signal. The method developed has an important practical application, and the paper provides an example of its approbation in the calibration of an acoustic emission system at a production facility (hydrocarbon gas purification absorber). Criteria for prefiltering of data are described. The obtained locations are in good agreement with the signal generation sources, and the velocities even reflect the Rayleigh-Lamb division of acoustic waves due to the different signal source distances from the sensors. The article contains the dependency graph of the average signal velocity against the distance from its source to the nearest sensor. The main advantage of the method developed is its ability to detect the location of different velocity signals within a single test. This allows to increase the degree of freedom in the calculations, and thereby increase their accuracy.

Discrete simulation of the road restoration process
Computer Research and Modeling, 2022, v. 14, no. 6, pp. 1255-1268This work contains a description of the results of modeling the process of maintaining the readiness of a section of the road network under strikes of with specified parameters. A one-dimensional section of road up to 40 km long with a total number of strikes up to 100 during the work of the brigade is considered. A simulation model has been developed for carrying out work to maintain it in working condition by several groups (engineering teams) that are part of the engineering and road division. A multicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle is used to search for the points of appearance of obstacles. Life cycle schemes of the main participants of the tactical scene have been developed and an event-driven model of the tactical scene has been built. The format of the event log generated as a result of simulation modeling of the process of maintaining a road section is proposed. To visualize the process of maintaining the readiness of a road section, it is proposed to use visualization in the cyclogram format.
An XSL style has been developed for building a cyclogram based on an event log. As an algorithm for making a decision on the assignment of barriers to brigades, the simplest algorithm has been adopted, prescribing choosing the nearest barrier. A criterion describing the effectiveness of maintenance work on the site based on the assessment of the average speed of vehicles on the road section is proposed. Graphs of the dependence of the criterion value and the root-meansquare error depending on the length of the maintained section are plotted and an estimate is obtained for the maximum length of the road section maintained in a state of readiness with specified values for the selected quality indicator with specified characteristics of striking and performance of repair crews. The expediency of carrying out work to maintain readiness by several brigades that are part of the engineering and road division operating autonomously is shown.
The influence of the speed of the unmanned aerial vehicle on the ability to maintain the readiness of the road section is analyzed. The speed range for from 10 to 70 km/h is considered, which corresponds to the technical capabilities of multicoptertype reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles. The simulation results can be used as part of a complex simulation model of an army offensive or defensive operation and for solving the problem of optimizing the assignment of tasks to maintain the readiness of road sections to engineering and road brigades. The proposed approach may be of interest for the development of military-oriented strategy games.

Road network infrastructure is the basis of any urban area. This article compares the structural characteristics (meshedness coefficient, clustering coefficient) road networks of Moscow center (Old Moscow), formed as a result of self-organization and roads near Leninsky Prospekt (postwar Moscow), which was result of cetralized planning. Data for the construction of road networks in the form of graphs taken from the Internet resource OpenStreetMap, allowing to accurately identify the coordinates of the intersections. According to the characteristics of the calculated Moscow road networks areas the cities with road network which have a similar structure to the two Moscow areas was found in foreign publications. Using the dual representation of road networks of centers of Moscow and St. Petersburg, studied the information and cognitive features of navigation in these tourist areas of the two capitals. In the construction of the dual graph of the studied areas were not taken into account the different types of roads (unidirectional or bi-directional traffic, etc), that is built dual graphs are undirected. Since the road network in the dual representation are described by a power law distribution of vertices on the number of edges (scale-free networks), exponents of these distributions were calculated. It is shown that the information complexity of the dual graph of the center of Moscow exceeds the cognitive threshold 8.1 bits, and the same feature for the center of St. Petersburg below this threshold, because the center of St. Petersburg road network was created on the basis of planning and therefore more easy to navigate. In conclusion, using the methods of statistical mechanics (the method of calculating the partition functions) for the road network of some Russian cities the Gibbs entropy were calculated. It was found that with the road network size increasing their entropy decreases. We discuss the problem of studying the evolution of urban infrastructure networks of different nature (public transport, supply , communication networks, etc.), which allow us to more deeply explore and understand the fundamental laws of urbanization.

Algorithm of simple graph exploration by a collective of agents
Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 1, pp. 33-45The study presented in the paper is devoted to the problem of finite graph exploration using a collective of agents. Finite non-oriented graphs without loops and multiple edges are considered in this paper. The collective of agents consists of two agents-researchers, who have a finite memory independent of the number of nodes of the graph studied by them and use two colors each (three colors are used in the aggregate) and one agentexperimental, who has a finite, unlimitedly growing internal memory. Agents-researches can simultaneously traverse the graph, read and change labels of graph elements, and also transmit the necessary information to a third agent — the agent-experimenter. An agent-experimenter is a non-moving agent in whose memory the result of the functioning of agents-researchers at each step is recorded and, also, a representation of the investigated graph (initially unknown to agents) is gradually built up with a list of edges and a list of nodes.
The work includes detail describes of the operating modes of agents-researchers with an indication of the priority of their activation. The commands exchanged between agents-researchers and an agent-experimenter during the execution of procedures are considered. Problematic situations arising in the work of agentsresearchers are also studied in detail, for example, staining a white vertex, when two agents simultaneously fall into the same node, or marking and examining the isthmus (edges connecting subgraphs examined by different agents-researchers), etc. The full algorithm of the agent-experimenter is presented with a detailed description of the processing of messages received from agents-researchers, on the basis of which a representation of the studied graph is built. In addition, a complete analysis of the time, space, and communication complexities of the constructed algorithm was performed.
The presented graph exploration algorithm has a quadratic (with respect to the number of nodes of the studied graph) time complexity, quadratic space complexity, and quadratic communication complexity. The graph exploration algorithm is based on the depth-first traversal method.

The Solver of Boltzmann equation on unstructured spatial grids
Computer Research and Modeling, 2019, v. 11, no. 3, pp. 427-447Views (last year): 13.The purpose of this work is to develop a universal computer program (solver) which solves kinetic Boltzmann equation for simulations of rarefied gas flows in complexly shaped devices. The structure of the solver is described in details. Its efficiency is demonstrated on an example of calculations of a modern many tubes Knudsen pump. The kinetic Boltzmann equation is solved by finite-difference method on discrete grid in spatial and velocity spaces. The differential advection operator is approximated by finite difference method. The calculation of the collision integral is based on the conservative projection method.
In the developed computational program the unstructured spatial mesh is generated using GMSH and may include prisms, tetrahedrons, hexahedrons and pyramids. The mesh is denser in areas of flow with large gradients of gas parameters. A three-dimensional velocity grid consists of cubic cells of equal volume.
A huge amount of calculations requires effective parallelization of the algorithm which is implemented in the program with the use of Message Passing Interface (MPI) technology. An information transfer from one node to another is implemented as a kind of boundary condition. As a result, every MPI node contains the information about only its part of the grid.
The main result of the work is presented in the graph of pressure difference in 2 reservoirs connected by a multitube Knudsen pump from Knudsen number. This characteristic of the Knudsen pump obtained by numerical methods shows the quality of the pump. Distributions of pressure, temperature and gas concentration in a steady state inside the pump and the reservoirs are presented as well.
The correctness of the solver is checked using two special test solutions of more simple boundary problems — test with temperature distribution between 2 planes with different temperatures and test with conservation of total gas mass.
The correctness of the obtained data for multitube Knudsen pump is checked using denser spatial and velocity grids, using more collisions in collision integral per time step.

Numerical modelling of seismic waves spread in models with an ice field in the arctic shelf
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 1, pp. 73-82The Arctic region contains large hydrocarbon deposits. The presence of different ice formations, such as icebergs, ice hummocks, ice fields, complicates the process of carrying out seismic works on the territory. The last of them, ice fields, bring multiple reflections, spreading all over the surface of ice, into seismogramms. These multiple reflections are necessary to be taken into account while analyzing the seismograms, and geologists should be able to exclude them in order to obtain the reflected waves from the lower geological layers, including hydrocarbon layers.
In this work, we solve the problem of the seismic waves spread in the heterogeneous medium. The systems of equations for the linear elastic medium and for the acoustic medium describe the geological layers. We present the detailed description of the numerical solution of these systems of equations with the help of the grid-characteristic method. The final 1D transfer equations are solved with the use of the Rusanov scheme of the third order of accuracy. In the work, we examine the way of multiple waves decrease in ice by establishing the source of impulse deep into the ice field on border with water. We present the results of computer modelling of the seismic waves spread in geological layers, where the seismic source of impulse is situated on the contact border between ice and water, and also with the seismic source of impulse on the surface of ice for the 3D case. The results of the numerical modelling are presented by wave fields, graphs of the velocity x-components and seismogramms for the two problem formulations. We carry out the analysis of influence of establishing the source of impulse on the border between ice and water on the decrease of the x-components of seismic wave velocities, on seismogramms and on wave fields. As a result, the model, where the seismic source of impulse is situated on the contact border between ice and water, makes worse the final result. The model with the source of impulse on the surface of ice demonstrates a decrease of the x-components of seismic wave velocities.

Framework sumo-atclib for adaptive traffic control modeling
Computer Research and Modeling, 2024, v. 16, no. 1, pp. 69-78This article proposes the sumo-atclib framework, which provides a convenient uniform interface for testing adaptive control algorithms with different limitations, for example, restrictions on phase durations, phase sequences, restrictions on the minimum time between control actions, which uses the open source microscopic transport modeling environment SUMO. The framework shares the functionality of controllers (class TrafficController) and a monitoring and detection system (class StateObserver), which repeats the architecture of real traffic light objects and adaptive control systems and simplifies the testing of new algorithms, since combinations of different controllers and vehicle detection systems can be freely varied. Also, unlike most existing solutions, the road class Road has been added, which combines a set of lanes, this allows, for example, to determine the adjacency of regulated intersections, in cases when the number of lanes changes on the way from one intersection to another, and therefore the road graph is divided into several edges. At the same time, the algorithms themselves use the same interface and are abstracted from the specific parameters of the detectors, network topologies, that is, it is assumed that this solution will allow the transport engineer to test ready-made algorithms for a new scenario, without the need to adapt them to new conditions, which speeds up the development process of the control system, and reduces design overhead. At the moment, the package contains examples of MaxPressure algorithms and the Q-learning reinforcement learning method, the database of examples is also being updated. The framework also includes a set of SUMO scripts for testing algorithms, which includes both synthetic maps and well-verified SUMO scripts such as Cologne and Ingolstadt. In addition, the framework provides a set of automatically calculated metrics, such as total travel time, delay time, average speed; the framework also provides a ready-made example for visualization of metrics.

Searching stochastic equilibria in transport networks by universal primal-dual gradient method
Computer Research and Modeling, 2018, v. 10, no. 3, pp. 335-345Views (last year): 28.We consider one of the problems of transport modelling — searching the equilibrium distribution of traffic flows in the network. We use the classic Beckman’s model to describe time costs and flow distribution in the network represented by directed graph. Meanwhile agents’ behavior is not completely rational, what is described by the introduction of Markov logit dynamics: any driver selects a route randomly according to the Gibbs’ distribution taking into account current time costs on the edges of the graph. Thus, the problem is reduced to searching of the stationary distribution for this dynamics which is a stochastic Nash – Wardrope equilibrium in the corresponding population congestion game in the transport network. Since the game is potential, this problem is equivalent to the problem of minimization of some functional over flows distribution. The stochasticity is reflected in the appearance of the entropy regularization, in contrast to non-stochastic case. The dual problem is constructed to obtain a solution of the optimization problem. The universal primal-dual gradient method is applied. A major specificity of this method lies in an adaptive adjustment to the local smoothness of the problem, what is most important in case of the complex structure of the objective function and an inability to obtain a prior smoothness bound with acceptable accuracy. Such a situation occurs in the considered problem since the properties of the function strongly depend on the transport graph, on which we do not impose strong restrictions. The article describes the algorithm including the numerical differentiation for calculation of the objective function value and gradient. In addition, the paper represents a theoretical estimate of time complexity of the algorithm and the results of numerical experiments conducted on a small American town.

Hypergraph approach in the decomposition of complex technical systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2020, v. 12, no. 5, pp. 1007-1022The article considers a mathematical model of decomposition of a complex product into assembly units. This is an important engineering problem, which affects the organization of discrete production and its operational management. A review of modern approaches to mathematical modeling and automated computer-aided of decompositions is given. In them, graphs, networks, matrices, etc. serve as mathematical models of structures of technical systems. These models describe the mechanical structure as a binary relation on a set of system elements. The geometrical coordination and integrity of machines and mechanical devices during the manufacturing process is achieved by means of basing. In general, basing can be performed on several elements simultaneously. Therefore, it represents a variable arity relation, which can not be correctly described in terms of binary mathematical structures. A new hypergraph model of mechanical structure of technical system is described. This model allows to give an adequate formalization of assembly operations and processes. Assembly operations which are carried out by two working bodies and consist in realization of mechanical connections are considered. Such operations are called coherent and sequential. This is the prevailing type of operations in modern industrial practice. It is shown that the mathematical description of such operation is normal contraction of an edge of the hypergraph. A sequence of contractions transforming the hypergraph into a point is a mathematical model of the assembly process. Two important theorems on the properties of contractible hypergraphs and their subgraphs proved by the author are presented. The concept of s-hypergraphs is introduced. S-hypergraphs are the correct mathematical models of mechanical structures of any assembled technical systems. Decomposition of a product into assembly units is defined as cutting of an s-hypergraph into s-subgraphs. The cutting problem is described in terms of discrete mathematical programming. Mathematical models of structural, topological and technological constraints are obtained. The objective functions are proposed that formalize the optimal choice of design solutions in various situations. The developed mathematical model of product decomposition is flexible and open. It allows for extensions that take into account the characteristics of the product and its production.

Distributed computing model for the organization of a software environment that provides management of intelligent building automation systems
Computer Research and Modeling, 2021, v. 13, no. 3, pp. 557-570The present article describes the authors’ model of construction of the distributed computer network and realization in it of the distributed calculations which are carried out within the limits of the software-information environment providing management of the information, automated and engineering systems of intellectual buildings. The presented model is based on the functional approach with encapsulation of the non-determined calculations and various side effects in monadic calculations that allows to apply all advantages of functional programming to a choice and execution of scenarios of management of various aspects of life activity of buildings and constructions. Besides, the described model can be used together with process of intellectualization of technical and sociotechnical systems for increase of level of independence of decision-making on management of values of parameters of the internal environment of a building, and also for realization of methods of adaptive management, in particular application of various techniques and approaches of an artificial intellect. An important part of the model is a directed acyclic graph, which is an extension of the blockchain with the ability to categorically reduce the cost of transactions taking into account the execution of smart contracts. According to the authors it will allow one to realize new technologies and methods — the distributed register on the basis of the directed acyclic graph, calculation on edge and the hybrid scheme of construction of artificial intellectual systems — and all this together can be used for increase of efficiency of management of intellectual buildings. Actuality of the presented model is based on necessity and importance of translation of processes of management of life cycle of buildings and constructions in paradigm of Industry 4.0 and application for management of methods of an artificial intellect with universal introduction of independent artificial cognitive agents. Model novelty follows from cumulative consideration of the distributed calculations within the limits of the functional approach and hybrid paradigm of construction of artificial intellectual agents for management of intellectual buildings. The work is theoretical. The article will be interesting to scientists and engineers working in the field of automation of technological and industrial processes both within the limits of intellectual buildings, and concerning management of complex technical and social and technical systems as a whole.
