    Computer modeling of the gross regional product dynamics: a comparative analysis of neural network models

    Analysis of regional economic indicators plays a crucial role in management and development planning, with Gross Regional Product (GRP) serving as one of the key indicators of economic activity. The application of artificial intelligence, including neural network technologies, enables significant improvements in the accuracy and reliability of forecasts of economic processes. This study compares three neural network algorithm models for predicting the GRP of a typical region of the Russian Federation — the Udmurt Republic — based on time series data from 2000 to 2023. The selected models include a neural network with the Bat Algorithm (BA-LSTM), a neural network model based on backpropagation error optimized with a Genetic Algorithm (GA-BPNN), and a neural network model of Elman optimized using the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO-Elman). The research involved stages of neural network modeling such as data preprocessing, training model, and comparative analysis based on accuracy and forecast quality metrics. This approach allows for evaluating the advantages and limitations of each model in the context of GRP forecasting, as well as identifying the most promising directions for further research. The utilization of modern neural network methods opens new opportunities for automating regional economic analysis and improving the quality of forecast assessments, which is especially relevant when data are limited and for rapid decision-making. The study uses factors such as the amount of production capital, the average annual number of labor resources, the share of high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries in GRP, and an inflation indicator as input data for predicting GRP. The high accuracy of the predictions achieved by including these factors in the neural network models confirms the strong correlation between these factors and GRP. The results demonstrate the exceptional accuracy of the BA-LSTM neural network model on validation data: the coefficient of determination was 0.82, and the mean absolute percentage error was 4.19%. The high performance and reliability of this model confirm its capacity to predict effectively the dynamics of the GRP. During the forecast period up to 2030, the Udmurt Republic is expected to experience an annual increase in Gross Regional Product (GRP) of +4.6% in current prices or +2.5% in comparable 2023 prices. By 2030, the GRP is projected to reach 1264.5 billion rubles.

    Methodic of legacy information systems handling

    In this article a method of legacy information systems handling is offered. During professional activities of specialists of various domains of industry they face with the problem that computer software that was involved in product development stage becomes obsolete much quickly than the product itself. At the same time switch to any modern software might be not possible due to various reasons. This problem is known as "legacy system" problem. It appears when product lifecycle is sufficiently longer than that of software systems that were used for product creation. In this article author offers an approach for solving this problem along with computer application based on this approach.

    The integrated model of eco-economic system on the example of the Republic of Armenia

    This article presents an integrated dynamic model of eco-economic system of the Republic of Armenia (RA). This model is constructed using system dynamics methods, which allow to consider the major feedback related to key characteristics of eco-economic system. Such model is a two-objective optimization problem where as target functions the level of air pollution and gross profit of national economy are considered. The air pollution is minimized due to modernization of stationary and mobile sources of pollution at simultaneous maximization of gross profit of national economy. At the same time considered eco-economic system is characterized by the presence of internal constraints that must be accounted at acceptance of strategic decisions. As a result, we proposed a systematic approach that allows forming sustainable solutions for the development of the production sector of RA while minimizing the impact on the environment. With the proposed approach, in particular, we can form a plan for optimal enterprise modernization and predict long-term dynamics of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

The calculations to assess the safety of the Roman Empire. It is shown that in 160 AD the conservation value of the function has reached a critically low values, which served as the impetus for modernization and reform.

    Features of the DNA kink motion in the asynchronous switching on and off of the constant and periodic fields

    Investigation of the influence of external fields on living systems is one of the most interesting and rapidly developing areas of modern biophysics. However, the mechanisms of such an impact are still not entirely clear. One approach to the study of this issue is associated with modeling the interaction of external fields with internal mobility of biological objects. In this paper, this approach is used to study the effect of external fields on the motion of local conformational distortions — kinks, in the DNA molecule. Realizing and taking into account that on the whole this task is closely connected with the problem of the mechanisms of regulation of vital processes of cells and cellular systems, we set the problem — to investigate the physical mechanisms regulating the motion of kinks and also to answer the question whether permanent and periodic fields can play the role of regulators of this movement. The paper considers the most general case, when constant and periodic fields are switching on and off asynchronously. Three variants of asynchronous switching on/off are studied in detail. In the first variant, the time intervals (or diapasons) of the actions of the constant and periodic fields do not overlap, in the second — overlap, and in the third — the intervals are putting in each other. The calculations were performed for the sequence of plasmid pTTQ18. The kink motion was modeled by the McLaughlin–Scott equation, and the coefficients of the equation were calculated in a quasi-homogeneous approximation. Numerical experiments showed that constant and periodic fields exert a significant influence on the character of the kink motion and regulate it. So the switching on of a constant field leads to a rapid increase of the kink velocity and to the establishment of a stationary velocity of motion, and the switching on of a periodic field leads to the steady oscillations of the kink with the frequency of the external periodic field. It is shown that the behavior of the kink depends on the mutual arrangement of the diapasons of the action of the external fields. As it turned out, events occurring in one of the two diapasons can affect the events in the other diapason, even when the diapasons are sufficiently far apart. It is shown that the overlapping of the diapasons of action of the constant and periodic fields leads to a significant increase in the path traversed by the kink to a complete stop. Maximal growth of the path is observed when one diapason is putting in each other. In conclusion, the question of how the obtained model results could be related to the most important task of biology — the problem of the mechanisms of regulation of the processes of vital activity of cells and cellular systems is discussed.

    Method for prediction of aerodynamic characteristics of helicopter rotors based on edge-based schemes in code NOISEtte

    The paper gives a detailed description of the developed methods for simulating the turbulent flow around a helicopter rotor and calculating its aerodynamic characteristics. The system of Reynolds-averaged Navier – Stokes equations for a viscous compressible gas closed by the Spalart –Allmaras turbulence model is used as the basic mathematical model. The model is formulated in a non-inertial rotating coordinate system associated with a rotor. To set the boundary conditions on the surface of the rotor, wall functions are used.

    The numerical solution of the resulting system of differential equations is carried out on mixed-element unstructured grids including prismatic layers near the surface of a streamlined body.The numerical method is based on the original vertex-centered finite-volume EBR schemes. A feature of these schemes is their higher accuracy which is achieved through the use of edge-based reconstruction of variables on extended quasi-onedimensional stencils, and a moderate computational cost which allows for serial computations. The methods of Roe and Lax – Friedrichs are used as approximate Riemann solvers. The Roe method is corrected in the case of low Mach flows. When dealing with discontinuities or solutions with large gradients, a quasi-one-dimensional WENO scheme or local switching to a quasi-one-dimensional TVD-type reconstruction is used. The time integration is carried out according to the implicit three-layer second-order scheme with Newton linearization of the system of difference equations. To solve the system of linear equations, the stabilized conjugate gradient method is used.

    The numerical methods are implemented as a part of the in-house code NOISEtte according to the two-level MPI–OpenMP parallel model, which allows high-performance computations on meshes consisting of hundreds of millions of nodes, while involving hundreds of thousands of CPU cores of modern supercomputers.

    Based on the results of numerical simulation, the aerodynamic characteristics of the helicopter rotor are calculated, namely, trust, torque and their dimensionless coefficients.

    Validation of the developed technique is carried out by simulating the turbulent flow around the Caradonna – Tung two-blade rotor and the KNRTU-KAI four-blade model rotor in hover mode mode, tail rotor in duct, and rigid main rotor in oblique flow. The numerical results are compared with the available experimental data.

    Extracting knowledge from text messages: overview and state-of-the-art

    In general, solving the information explosion problem can be delegated to systems for automatic processing of digital data. These systems are intended for recognizing, sorting, meaningfully processing and presenting data in formats readable and interpretable by humans. The creation of intelligent knowledge extraction systems that handle unstructured data would be a natural solution in this area. At the same time, the evident progress in these tasks for structured data contrasts with the limited success of unstructured data processing, and, in particular, document processing. Currently, this research area is undergoing active development and investigation. The present paper is a systematic survey on both Russian and international publications that are dedicated to the leading trend in automatic text data processing: Text Mining (TM). We cover the main tasks and notions of TM, as well as its place in the current AI landscape. Furthermore, we analyze the complications that arise during the processing of texts written in natural language (NLP) which are weakly structured and often provide ambiguous linguistic information. We describe the stages of text data preparation, cleaning, and selecting features which, alongside the data obtained via morphological, syntactic, and semantic analysis, constitute the input for the TM process. This process can be represented as mapping a set of text documents to «knowledge». Using the case of stock trading, we demonstrate the formalization of the problem of making a trade decision based on a set of analytical recommendations. Examples of such mappings are methods of Information Retrieval (IR), text summarization, sentiment analysis, document classification and clustering, etc. The common point of all tasks and techniques of TM is the selection of word forms and their derivatives used to recognize content in NL symbol sequences. Considering IR as an example, we examine classic types of search, such as searching for word forms, phrases, patterns and concepts. Additionally, we consider the augmentation of patterns with syntactic and semantic information. Next, we provide a general description of all NLP instruments: morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis. Finally, we end the paper with a comparative analysis of modern TM tools which can be helpful for selecting a suitable TM platform based on the user’s needs and skills.

    Stochastic optimization in digital pre-distortion of the signal

    In this paper, we test the performance of some modern stochastic optimization methods and practices with respect to the digital pre-distortion problem, which is a valuable part of processing signal on base stations providing wireless communication. In the first part of our study, we focus on the search for the best performing method and its proper modifications. In the second part, we propose the new, quasi-online, testing framework that allows us to fit our modeling results with the behavior of real-life DPD prototype, retest some selected of practices considered in the previous section and approve the advantages of the method appearing to be the best under real-life conditions. For the used model, the maximum achieved improvement in depth is 7% in the standard regime and 5% in the online regime (metric itself is of logarithmic scale). We also achieve a halving of the working time preserving 3% and 6% improvement in depth for the standard and online regime, respectively. All comparisons are made to the Adam method, which was highlighted as the best stochastic method for DPD problem in [Pasechnyuk et al., 2021], and to the Adamax method, which is the best in the proposed online regime.

    Experimental investigation of Russian citizens expenses on new cars and a correspondence to their income

    The question of distribution of citizens expenses in modern Russia is experimentally investigated. New cars were chosen as representative group of the acquired goods as well as earlier. Results of the analysis of sales of new cars for 2007–2009 are presented below. Main “body” of density of probability to find certain number of cars depending on their price, since some initial price up to ~ k$60, is an exponential distribution. The found feature of distribution (unlike 2003–2005) was an existence of minimum price. For expensive cars (distribution “tail”), the asymptotic form is the Pareto distribution with a hyperbole exponent a little greater, than measured earlier for 2003–2005. The results turned up to be similar to direct measurements of distribution of tax declarations on their size, submitted to the USA in 2004 where exponential distribution of the income of citizens, since some minimum, with some asymptotic in the form of Pareto's distribution also was observed.

    Problems of numerical simulation in the dynamics system “soil–plant”

    Modern mathematical models in the dynamics system “soil–plant” are considered. The components of this system are: agricultural plant, microorganisms of the rhizosphere (root zone of plants), the mineral nutrition elements of plants in their mobile and immobile forms. The model of submitted system based on the analysis of the adopted provisions was developed. The construction of system elements allows to display the coordinated dynamics of these elements among themselves. In particular, the dynamics of mineral nutrition elements in plants and the dynamics of their biomass are determined by the current contents in the rhizosphere of mineral fertilizers and organic origin substances (plant roots, leaves, etc.). The immobility of plants spatial distribution and the mobile spatial nature of microorganisms are assumed. This mechanism is determined by diffusion. Mutual relationships between weeds and pests are suggested. The dynamics of the mineral nutrition elements is determined by the peculiarity of sorption in the soil solution, environmental conditions, organic decomposition and fertilizer application. An analytical study for a system where each of the components is represented by only one species (fertilizer, the association of microorganisms and plants) was performed. An adaptation of the wave propagation model in the “resource–consumer” system (Kolmogorov–Petrovsky–Piskunov waves) has been developed for annual agricultural crops. The developed model has been adapted for the growth of Krasnoufimskaya-100 spring wheat in a vessel on peat lowland soil, where nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers were added variably. Sample distributions are plants biomass and the content of mineral nutrition elements in them. The parametric identification of the model and its adequacy was performed. An assessment of the model adequacy showed a good agreement between the model and experimental data.
